Can a Game Be Perfect?

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 1

Yes, a game can be perfect. That game is Perfect Dark. It's just incredible how good the single player mode is. Rare really puts you in the shoes of special agent Joanna Dark. Perfect Dark's single player is an adrenaline packed thrill ride from start to finish. But PD isn't just the single player. PD has THE best multiplayer mode I have ever seen on N64, Playstation, or Dreamcast. Play with 3 friends? Fine. What if you don't have any friends? No problem. You can add up to 8 computer controlled simulants to duke it out with. Plus there are additive multiplayer "challenges" that must be completed. Also in multi you can take on the solo missions with a friend in Co-Op, or your friend can take the role of a guard trying to stop you in Counter-Op. There is just so much stuff in PD that you will never get sick of the game. The biggest game on N64 yet. Co-op sometime gets a bit choppy, but I can't take points off Rare for going above and beyond what other publishers are doing. This is the gamers game and it holds its own with some of the N64's best games. If you have an N64, get this game now. If you don't have an N64, buy one, rent one, steal one! Well don't steal one, but do anything (legal) you can to play Perfect Dark!

This game is great, the only thing I found annoying was that it was very similar to GOldeneye 007, and I've played that game out, so Perfect Dark wasn't so appealing to me.

It's getting Darker.....

I bought this because I was bored with 007, and I wanted to take a break from Tony Hawk. This game filled that void well. I thought the audio far surpassed the standard set by 007. I thought the gameplay was similar enough to 007 to pick up and immediately play, but differed enough to take a few moments to comppletely master. I was a little upset that they tried to take the story to anothe planet, and I do not like the whole Skedar part of the plot, but nothing is perfect. The combat simulator feature is just so awesome, and with so many different game modes, it is tough to get bored whn you get stuck on a particular solo mision. Great Game!

It has the best gameplay and story since goldeney. if you liked Jimmy Bond in that classic then you'll love this little gem. with new ways to get the cheats and even a gameboy version this is the best new game out there.

Good, but it ain't goldeneye...

The one good thing about this game is the multiplayer, which is why I gave it 3 stars. When I was having a sleepover, we played the multiplayer mode all night. But there is always something bad though, and that is the single-player mode. I beat the game on agent in a week, which was too easy, but trying it on Special Agent was too hard. And the guns are horrible. So if you are bored you can get your friends over and play a couple of rounds of multiplayer, but otherwise the game isn't that great.

Where do I begin? Just about every review on every site thinks really highly of this game but, I think diffrent. I rented this game and had all the optional componants yet I thought it stunk. The worst part of the entire game is the menu, it's so complicated I bet the people who created it don't fully understand it. Next is the manual, it stunk too. It was hard reading and had everything in it except how to work the game. Even when I was playing (I played the whole game in and out within a few hours) it stunk. It was extreamly easy and wasn't 1/9 of what I expected for golden eye's sequal. It was also almost identical to the gameplay of goldeneye but with less options, being harder to use, and it was five times worse. I have to go but one last thing, I wouldn't let my dog play this it's the worst 64 game out there and no one should ever waste their money on this game. (atleast rent it first)

Whoa.

This game is so great that it's scary. You are Joanna Dark, a futuristic agent from Carrington Agency. Your mission-- well, you've got a lot of them. They range from setting a hostage free to mowing down aliens with a machine gun.
But you've got more to do than just the missions. The Combat Simulator offers a dizzying array of multiplayer options, such as adding simluants, changing what weapons you can find around you, and setting up teams.
I'd have to say that one of my favorite touches would be the intelligence levels of the simulants. If you're one of those people who finds joy in shooting without aiming, then you'll find the Meat Simulants to be to your liking. However, if you like more of a challenge, you can set the simulants to have distinct personalities, such as PeaceSim, (annoying unarmed scientists who run up to you, punch you, and take your guns) and RocketSims (simulants who always carry rocket launchers, and of course are happy to blow you up with one). You can enter the Combat Simulator yourself, and use the simulants as target practice, or you can get up to three friends and go on a killing spree.
This game has so many more options that I can't fit them all in one review, but they're worthy of checking out. Buy the game and see for yourself ;)
