The graphics are great but the weapons weren't all that varied (power wise), and I prefer realistic weapons. It's a very fun multiplayer game, and I loved all the different multiplayer modes. Rare also did a good job making it realistic (considering it's set in the future). (At the time that I'm writing this, the game is about $... and they say that you're saving like $..., but since it's a game of the year, the msrp is about $...)
Alot of Fun

This game is great.... i played it all the time last summer. it's actually quite easy on the agent and special agent levels, and happily, it's extremely hard on perfect agent, just like it should be. The multiplayer setting is alot of fun and you can set up the weapons and everything as you want. the only drawback to the multiplayer is that if you're playing with all 4 human players, and 8 or so simulants, the frame rate drops to about 1 f/s even with the expansion pak, which you must have to play this game. If not, it's pretty boring... only 2 players on multi and no single player.
The best video game made for the N64

If you are looking for one last game to buy before the N64 goes extinct you have found it here. A fantastic follow-up by Rare after what a hit Goldeneye has become: This game follows much of the same format that Goldeneye used to make it to the top but is able to add much more to an already stellar multi-player.
Whether or not you are looking for a FPS you need to check out this game. It's gameplay isn't matched by any other game on the system, though you'd better make sure you have an expansion pack or you won't get access to much of the game

Perfect Dark had excelent graphics and phenomenal ideas for it's time. Unfortunately it has been overshadowed by the PlayStation 2 and newer, shinier first person shooter games. But enough of that, let me say what this game has done for FPS fans.
Perfect Dark brought decent graphics (for a 64 bit system) and many new toys to a genre that is very difficult to make upgrades on. Although I know a lot of the things in PD weren't really "new" and that PC games used a lot of the techniques before PD came out, PD was the first to bring it all in, and one-uped it by putting it on console.
Secondary Weapon fire: I don't think there has been a console FPS since that hasn't had a secondary weapons fire.
AI Bots: Yes, you have always had that in single player, but not in Multi-player! and the ability to not only conrtol their level of skill, but also roughly how they would act?! Now that is something to be proud of.
Play Options: Sure, GoldenEye has Capture the Flag, and a few other little games, but PD brought in more games, better options, and just overall a lot more fun.
Weapon select: Getting sick of those crummy little guns in your weapons set? You and your friends just want to blow each other up with rockets? Well then, just make up your own set! Go ahead, select all the weapons you want, or then again, don't! Slap each other silly, it's up to you.
Custom Characters: This is something that was left out of Timeslitters (I've heard that a lot of the staff that worked on GoldenEye left Rare to become Free Radical). I happen to like my alien wearing a scubba mask and a trenchcoat. I think that although this option does not have much playability value, it is kind of fun to see what sort of odd creations some people will come up with.
Even the newer PS2 games with all their fancy graphics cannot match up to PD in all aspects. Let's just hope that the next installment of PD is just as good, and has all the fun fun toys that the original has (remember now kiddies that although Rare is making what is being called "Perfect Dark Zero", at least some of the Rare team has gone off to play on the Free Radical Team, we'll just have to sit and wait I guess).

This is one of the best and funnest ever Nintendo 64 game. This game is much better than James Bond 007. The object of the game is very fun and easy to learn. You go around and pick up different kinds of guns. It's not like in some games where you ahve the same lame old gun. There are simple shotguns or huge, sweet guns. You also go around picking up ammo. Then you walk around in a huge building with many doors, ladders, stairs and pipes to go through or cross to try and find you opponent and start shooting at them. Once you get killed you have to look for more sweet guns and ammo againw hich makes the game so much more challenging and funner. If you own James Bond I wouldn't say you should buy this game because it is basically the same, but if you are deciding between Bond Or Perfect Dark definitely get Perfecft Dark.
A Perfect shoot'em up game, at last...

Perfect Dark is about a secret agent that works for the Carrington Institute. They have found that the Datadyne Corporation are in league with the hostile alien Skedar race. Agent Dark tries too infiltrate and gather information and try and stop the evil plot. Great missions, multiplayer formats, weapons, secondary weapon modes, and the game does not deserve an M-rating (a bit of swearing [h-ord-]and animated violence along with a tiny bit of blood when you kill someone]).
Highly Recommended! PLease get it today!

When i first played this game i was excited because when i bought Goldeneye i spent 10 hours straight playing it without moving from my N64. I love goldeneye and thought this would be better but its not it seems like Goldeneye with adult language, gore, aliens, and futuristic storyline and setting. This game seems to polished and flashy to have lasting appeal the menus all have transparency effects with crazy lazer effects in the background which was way to flashy for me. All of the levels except for one are set in lighting effect heavy flawless futuristic environments which get really boring because its like listening to the same lame flawless pop song over and over. The only level i enjoyed was the chicago level which is heavily inspired by Blade Runner with its dark, rainy, and slightly asian feel. The biggest drawback for me is it wasnt a new Bond game. The story was just awful i never enjoyed it and its attempts at humor is pathetic. I just dont buy into games with comic looking aliens named Elvis running around! The main character is very boring and has nothing interesting about her except that shes a female spy, no catch phrases or personality of any kind. I really dont like the futuristic weapons either their ugly somehow i dont think guns from the future will be brownish orange. The thing about GE was it was realistic no aliens or guns that see through walls, just real guns, natural looking environments, and a great plot based on a great movie. Suffice to say when i first played this game i played it for an hour and then had something to eat and then played some Goldeneye.
Not the baddiest and not the greatest

Perfect Dark is like a double of goldeneye. Good weapons but one level their's a laser following you around which always kills me.Be on best alert of that level because you may always die there. ....
