Like many other people, I absolutely adore racing games and the Mario games. Then I saw this come out. It was perfect! It was a racing game with the characters from the Super Mario series! I was so excited to play it. My friends and I played it all night. It was so addicting. In fact, I still play this game today.

This game is ok. The Mario Grand Prix is fun, but there is no storyline whatsoever. Time trial is the part I hate most. You cannot beat the best time on any course. you can get 2nd on the star road, but you are lucky to get 5th on any others. this part is a programing error, but on wario raceway it has the best time set as 6 seconds!!!!!!!!! only get this game if you have multiple controllers, because there is V.S. and battle. v.s. is a race around a track, and battle is there you have a track to drive on (you're not racing) and you use items to knock your opponent's 3 balloons off the car.

Only get this game if you have 2 or more controllers!!!

I like this game for nitendo 64 it is fun to race i would buy this if i was you i have it is fun to play it when I got this game I thought i would not like this game but I love this game evenn though I dont play Nitend 64 that much.

The first time I ever played this game, was at my home. It was a rental game and I enjoyed it... ALOTTTTT!! .I would recomend this game to be a good birthday present for your child.

This game is defanitly worth the time and money.(...)You can choose from either mario grand prix,VS.,battle,or time trial.

In mario grand prix you choose from a wide selection of characters wich one you want to be.You Can pick from four different cups,each with four different race tracks.Then it's time to race as you play against the 7 other characters.Up to 4 people can play mario grand prix.

In VS.,you play against one computer character or 2 family members or friends.You can choose any course is the game.Up to 3 can play VS.

In the battle mode up to four can play.You get 3 balloons and the other player(s) try to pop them.The last one standing wins.Up to 4 can play battle mode.

Finally,in time trial only one person plays.You can choose any course,you try to make a good time and if you want,you can try to beat it.Only one player can do time trial.

Mario Kart is a Great game and if you have a N64,GET IT!

This game is so fun. I gave it 4 stars because there is'nt much 2 do. I think this is #1 graphics. Buy this game.

The hardest part on toads turnpike is going throught its mirror image (backwards sort of). You will have to be the god at this to win 1st and you'll be lucky if you win 4th. On regular mode there is more time to prepare because the cars and trucks are going your way instead of going towards you from in front.
I found a little tiny glitch to help you speed up on turns and it can also help you do matrix on the bananna peals. When your on any turn hold "R" until you're done the turn.

Pretty fun (and funny) game. It is pretty easy on all the parts but time trial. I can make first on all of the tracks, but it would not be easy. O, about that 6 seconds wario best time thing, It was either a glitch or it happened because someone cheated

It has spawned such classic levels (as I recall) such as Luigi's Circuit, Moo Moo Farm, Frappe's Snowland, Toad's Turnpike, Koopa Troopa Beach, Banshee Highway, Bowser's (infamous) Castle, Wario's Stadium and the ridiculously long and bright track, Rainbow Road, which has spawned at LEAST 5 different versions throughout the series!

My all-time favorite level in the game is actually Sherbet Land. It's filled with ice and is just fun to cruise through! And the penguins that you can run into are so cute!

The playable characters are your basic eight: Mario (balance), Luigi (balanced), Princess Peach (lightweight), Toad (lightweight), Yoshi (advanced), Donkey Kong (heavyweight), Wario (heavyweight) and Bowser (the heavi"est"weight).

This game is very, VERY easy to just pick up and play with friends. The controls are simple as all get out and the characters look pretty cool, for a N64 game. The sounds they make are cool too!

If you want something that 4 guys (and/or girls) can enjoy, this is the right move!

* PROS *
-Bright, colorful boards.
-Addicting sound effects.
-Semi-interesting characters.
-Fun tracks.
-4-Way BATTLE. Nuff said.
-8 Semi-unique characters

* CONS *
-Sound comes through in 1-player or 2-player mode, but fails to when playing with 2 or 3 friends
-16 levels just isn't enough to satisfy the average gamer's thirst
-The music can be annoying/nauseating to some
-When you're in 1st, you get crappy items. When you're last, you get the best ones, usually landing you in 1st/2nd/3rd

Cons aside, I spent countless hours with friends that I cherished playing this game. It will bring smiles to your faces for months to come. If you like this and own a Nintendo DS or a DS Lite (shame on ALL of you who don't!), then I totally recommend Mario Kart DS. More levels and more mayhem. Did I mention even more characters?!
