D.K.all the way

D.K. 64is a amazing game that pulls you from when you get it! It is a challenging game with many positive ends to it. The game is confusing at first but if you listen to Cranky you'll understand it completely. You have to use your head for some of the challenging puzzles. You won't be able to stop playing the game. In the game you are introduced to Chunky, Lanky and Tiny Kong. Lanky Kong is an orangatang that has long arms and a grape shooter. Tiny Kong is a small monkey with pigtales that allow her to hover. Chunky Kong is a huge ape that can lift boulders, and grow to a humongous monster. The game also includes Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Cranky Kong, Candy Kong, and Funky Kong. Everyone has a special purpose in the game. King K. Rool has stollen all of the golden bannanas. You start off as only D.K. and you earn charachters as you go along. D.K. shoots coconuts, and will make you want to dance with his bongo drums. Diddy will blow you down with his rapid-fire peanut pistols, and will make you smile with his guitar sounds. Lanky Kong will make you lick your lips with his grape launcher, and you'll plug your ears with his trombone. Tiny Kong is surprisingly deadly with her feather bow, but she knock you off your feet with her saxophone. Chunky will have the one hit K.O. with his pine-apple launcher, and he will play music to your ears with the triangles. In King K. Rool's factory you can play the origanal Donkey Kong for Atari. Can you teamed up with five tough Kongs beat the King K. Rool? If you want to know buy the game!

Unbelievable game, I was instantly hooked. Not your average "find a clue" and move on game, you keep going and re-visit areas to find even more cool stuff and tons of puzzles and challenges along the way. Perfect for the gamer that loves to explore and you never get "stuck" in one area and get bored, you can move on and go to a new area and get back to it later. Awesome....

Donkey Kong -the most engrossing 3D platformer!

Donkey Kong 64 is Donkey's great new adventure, where Donkey and friends try to save their land from the evil clutches of King K. Rool.

Sure, Donkey Kong 64 has no intricate, engrossing plot, but that doesn't matter, becuase I assure you you will be too immersed in Donkey Kong 64's gameplay to even care about a story.

The game starts out with evil King K. Rool landing on D.K. Isles, where he commences his malicious acts by stealing D.K. Isles' Golden Bananas. When Donkey finds out of this, he starts his quest. From here on, you'll get instructions on how to control your character and to control the camera that views the play.

Graphically, this game is outstanding, every world is nicely detailed with colorful textures.

Musically, it is average. The music is very repititive and lacks impact. I can barely remember any of the tunes to tell the truth.

Gameplay. Now here is where D.K. 64's main power relies. Once you start your adventure, you will be treated with countless, enjoyable, although some frustrating, mini-games. Each mini-game ranges from shooting melons at crocodiles, to fast, fierce races against exhuberant bugs and annoyingly, arrogant rabbits. Also, you have the opportunity to play with different kongs, specifically, there a five different kongs to play with -each with their unique moves and grace.

Overall, I'd have to say that this is one of the best games of 1999. I was very enthralled with the D.K.'s gameplay and very entertained.

Just to make a quick note, I don't suggest these games to the average youngster. D.K.'s adventure is overwhelming, each world is HUGE, and can get very frustrating and tedious if you don't succeed in your purpose of achieving your certain goal. This game is not recommended to those with short attention spans

I LOVE IT!

DK64 is a tricky little game. With 5 monkeys to choose from secreats to find, potions to get, faries to film, music to play, and of course guns to shoot. This game has very little vilence with cool charactors. Not only are you monkeys you are also rinos, and fish. I just can't get enough of this game! The graphics are great! This game is a welcome change from the vilence of other games. The multiplayer option is a bit like GoldenEye's though. Other wise a good holsome family game based on its predesors.

DK 64 is the best ever!

I don't know any of these other people but there is challenge after you recue all the kongs.Try beating King K. Rool or try to get 101% completion. It only takes a little while to beat each level-2 hrs. max for me! HINT-once you free lanky you do not need to collect golden bananas! Use his arms to fight the guy who blocks the door to get past without meeting the fee. The game comes with an expansion pack which can be used in future games. I think the challenge of this game is getting the nintendo coin from beating the original DK from the game on NES.

Desperately Seeking Sequel!

This game has been tied with Super Smash Bros. Melee as my favorite video game EVER. I loved the graphics, even if they were a bit on the rudimentary side, but they weren't the worst graphics in the world. (Super Smash Bros. for N64 carries that title.) Here are the pros and cons:

PROS:
The voice acting is funny.
The music is great (even the DK rap, and I HATE rap, but this one grew on me).
Three new Kongs: Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky!
The bosses are fairly easy (except for Boss number 3.
I HATE HIM SO MUCH!!!!)
One of the new items is a "Crystal Coconut", which possibly pays homage to the TV show (which I think is GREAT).
It's fun just to explore the levels even after you've beaten them.

CONS:
You have to beat Donkey Kong Arcade twice in order to progress (and it gets harder the second time. ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!)
The third boss is SO VERY HARD. It took me several months to defeat the guy, but fortunately I could get progress in the game anyway. Yippee!

This game is most definitely worth the cost, but you might want to find it at GameStop or someplace like that. I got it for seven bucks and it worked like it was new! ^_^

A Great Game

This game is really great. The graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay is very entertaining. There are a few problems though. There is an odd problem with the camera where it follows the charecters from behind and doesn't let you see your enemies. Some charecters (such as Donkey kong) are hard to control and are slow. But the game provides hours of gameplay and is entertaining.I played for hours without getting bored. There is some animated violence, but it's very limited.

Best RPG/Platformer/Adventure on the N64, better than Zelda!

All right. There are so many wonderful things about this game I could go on *FOREVER* if I don't organize things -right now-...

GRAPHICS

With the 4MB Memory Expansion Pack that comes (and is required) with this game, you can be assured that the graphics are amazing. There are huge, full levels, and everywhere you look there are more things to show off the graphics. Period.

SOUND

The music in this game was incredible. It got the adrenaline pumping, especially in some of the boss battles.....whew! Also, the voices for the characters (yes, even the bad guys) were awesome, the cinemas (there were many) made you feel like you were watching a movie!

GAMEPLAY

Oh yes, the best part. I'm *already* making this review a list, and I have to list the gameplay features too! Otherwise I'd get lost. Well, then:

Mini Games --- Astounding. The mine cart rides, the slides, the shooting courses, the mazes....mini games make DK64 so much -more-....

General Play --- Amazing. There are several courses, you must free the five Kongs, then use them all (you swap in a Tag Barrel) to beat the levels, which are HUGE and each end when you feed enough food to Scoff, then Troff will open the door to the Boss for you. Beat him for a Key, which goes into one of K. Lumsy's locks. There are 8 locks binding his cage. Free him, beat K. Rool and save Donkey Kong Island! Or try, anyway.

Side Events --- These can make you get lost. The Bannana Fairies, the Mermaid, Funky, Cranky, Candy and others give you so many tasks (and rewards) that it's easy to see why someone could forget what the point of the game is. Plus, by doing things in Adventure, you open up Mystery Mode.....

MULTIPLAYER

This is awesome. Duke it out in a one-screen arena, or have a blast in multi-screen, full areas. Plus there's the millions of options...

OVERALL

Buy it. Now. If you haven't already gotten it for Christmas, shame on you (or your parents, as the case may be)!

THIS GAME IS THE WORST N64 GAME EVER!

This is the worst DK game ever. Dont let the awesome graphics tempt you. In the beginning of the game, it is extremely addictive, but after the first level, it all goes downhill. I have listed all of the bad things:

1) The Levels are too long, you must goto the same level 25 times to beet it.

2) The game loses its whole entire point after you rescue all the Kongs.

3) You get REALLY REALLY annoyed from the levels. Theyre almost impossible, i mean come on you dont want to spend 5-10 hours just trying to beat one level do you?

Bottom Line:

I only gave it 1 star because No stars wasnt a choice!

This game is top-rate

This is an expansion pak only game. The Nintendo 64 didn't have enough space for this huge game. You get the expansion pak included with the game. You have to beat the game switching between charhters, backtraking, and even transforming to meet new goals. Inside the game is a amazing multiplaying game. battle arenea, a racing game, a dart throwing contest, a slot machine. TThe graphics are outstanding, and this is one of the most creative games around, with an Aztec Temple, a minddazzling mine cart ride, this game will keep you gaming!
