Not quite my cup of tea

Let me get this out of the way, I prefer JRPG's. Thats what I grew up on and thats what I like. Not a knock, just a preference. So Oblivion wasn't as much fun( but still good) for me as it was for some others. That being said, if you are a fan of big open ended rpgs, you are not going to find a better game than Oblivion. Its got gorgeous graphics, well done voice work and plenty of stuff to do. It can be a little bit too D and D for my taste, but if you want a massive world in which the fun is more in the exploring than in the story, Elder Scrolls IV is perfect for you.

Horribly Addictive

If you've read any of my previous reviews (and I have no idea why you would have) you know that I traded in my 360 to get a PS3 due to the lack of time I was playing games.
I bough Oblivion about a year ago for my 360, and just couldn't get into it. I thought it was "lame". I was probably just overwhelmed, but I digress. So about a week ago I decided to give it a go on the PS3, I don't know why, I just did. And I must say, this is the best game I've ever played (not counting NHL 94).
The world is HUGE, the game is completely interactive, and the depth is beyond anything I've ever experienced in a game.
So, with just over a week of owning the game, I've logged about 40 hours of game play. This game makes me want to play games again. My only fear now is that every game I play in the future will be unfairly compared to this masterpiece.

Pros:
Beautiful graphics
Huge, Open-ended game play
Hours of game play

Cons:
Sometimes there are slow loads (if someone knows how to clear the cache on the PS3 like the 360, please inform)
Horribly addictive

Great RPG

As a fan of RPG's, Oblivion has a wide variety of character types that meets my desires. If you're not happy with the default settings they give you, you can customize your character's abilities. Deep storyline that lets you "choose your destiny" and has many side-quests should the main quests become overwhelming for you.
