The first one rocked, and guess what! THIS ONE ROCKS EVEN MORE! improved graphics, tons of new levels, more mutators, more characters=tons of great action! even the demo is the shizznat! Now u 56k'ers out there, u can even play this one online! the improved online engine has some way of predicting players moves, so even with a high ping, you can still play! When you run out of maps if u happen to beat the game, go to google and search for more maps, and play more! Better yet, have ur friends buy the game also and have a LAN party! NOW THAT WOULD BE GREAT! Peace out, buy this game now!

Unreal Tournament 2003 is not as good as the orginal UT. But it is a great game with Excellent level design, graphics, weapon balance, gameplay modes, bot AI and mutliplayer modes with great physics. Just like the first game UT2003 is one of those games that really make the wasted hours, the lost sleep and the money spent upgrading hardware. In the single player game, you can play in Tournament mode. This is a perfect introduction if you're a new player, and if you are an experienced gamer, this mode is useful as a quick tour of the game's maps. Not many changes and needs a powerhouse system but if you are a fan of Quake3 or the orginal Unreal Tournament then Unreal Tournament 2003 is definitely for you.

this game is good but it lags for some reason

I Have broadband connection with a 1.2 AMD pc powered by a radeon 9600 graphic card and the game sometimes lags. Others times when I enter a room a black screen shows up giving a percentage of how long it will take to enter a room and sometime its take up to 2o minutes. Thats a long time even with dsl. I am newly introduced to the series so it will take me a while to get the hang of the multiplayer experience and the game in general.Other than that the game is fun to play. I recommend your get unreal 2004, but you should have a descent computer with a powerful graphics card. oh yeah if you dont have dsl dont bother playing online.

Exciting at first, but dies a quick death

At first this game really blew me away. The graphics and sound are impressive and the gameplay, and weapons in particular, are very cool. The novelty soon wears off though. The game is now gathering dust on my hard drive (hmmmm... I really should get that looked at), and once I completed the single player mode and got tired of multi-player, it didn't look like such a wise investment. I actually don't think the gameplay is particularly interesting long-term, and it all feels pretty "samey" after a while, but that's just my opinion. If you're a multi-player freak and have a good connection, you'll probably get a lot of fun out of playing online, at least for a while.

Nothing extraordinary

I bought this game, and although I am not big on Unreal and Quake and the sort I thought it would be interesting to give it a try.

I just found the concept of blowing up everyone and picking up weapons to be boring. I did try the game...gave it about 2 hours gameplay time, and it just was not enough to keep me entertained.

The graphics are great, the gameplay is extrememly fast. But the content, well, if you like to shoot and run, then this is for you.

how can people dislike this game

I don't understand the complaints. Yeah Quake 3 arena was good but the original Unreal Tournament brought online FPS to the masses (including me) something Quake never did. This is essentially an update to the original game and luckily still has all the original qualities that the original game had. With the bonus packs there are some great new game types too, like Bombing Run and Invasion. I have even played some versions where you can allocate earned skill points to improve your player..which gives the feel of an FPS crossed with an RPG. All in all its definitely a jump forward although it could be a leap if more of the additions mentioned are supplied with the game. Lets see what Atari come up with for UT 2004

Unreal 2k3's not the best, but it's NOT HORRIBLE!

Ok, so I can understand most people's complaints about all those features being taken off the game. And I'll admit I was a bit dissapointed too. But in no way is this game horrible! Yes it's got great graphics, and as much as I know graphics don't make a game, it sure helps alot! And the lighting effects? Amazing. I haven't seen a single lighting glitch in the game..so i'm geussing the people with lighting glitch complaints have computers that may be a little bit off.. The guns in this are fairly good, and the concept of just running around and shooting people got a little old, but I enjoyed the different modes...and in no way were the physics horrible! The physics in this game are amazing! All of the in-game characters and bots, have very realistic movements when jumping, sidestepping shooting, falling down a big hole full of horizontal steel bars, ect.
So it's not the greatest game out there, and probably worth waiting for Unreal 2k4, but it's definatly worth a look.

Fun, but lost some realism?

Have to add more comments:

I guess what is really disappointing here...is that I was hoping for something different--an improvement into the World of UT.

The World of UT was awesome as most people who played it will agree( I spent nearly 3 years addicted to it)--all the way from the laugh of the RA announcer( when you ran into an oppenant from around a corner and blasted each other at close range) to the assault games( yes, I was in love with Assault, hammer jump, rocket launch, razor shots, etc.)

UT was better than Quake because of it 3D environment was better...of course, they are all just a games, but there was something special about the old UT maps and the game play, that MADE you want to play it for hours...UT2k3 lost this IMHO.

=================================

Sorry, all you UT2k3 lovers, but I played UT for 2 1/2 years, and really had a lot of fun. Went on to play some MOH:AA, GR, AA:O, BF1942 so I guess I'm getting used to realer environments.

Even though it's all just for fun, some of the Big Pills( adrenaline) and other powerups along with the player skins seem more like quake.

I know, then don't play this game if I don't like it. Yep, I'll still play it, but I had hoped that they would've taken what they started and developed it into something unlike any other game and kept the futuristic world with the little details that take away from the realism...ditch the pills, and make the powerups like the way the powerups look in tribes...like where you connect to a power station instead of running up to some huge "Plus" symbol.

UT2k3 is far advanced in graphics and game play, and I can't wait for more FPS games like BF1942 so that it's gets more realistic each year.

Get This Game!

I recommend getting this game, but only if you have a computer fast enough to use the games full capabilites. The game has god like graphics with great weapons and gameplay that is fun to play by yourself or online.

This game is awsome. But i only recommend getting it if you have at least 1.7 ghz. If youre confident you can run this i definatly would get it. It worth the money and the multiplayer kicks. Go buy it!
