Unreal Tournament is the best PC game I have ever played, not only agaist the BOT's but on the net with others. You will feel the pain when you get shot. weapons are geat and have the feel of the hunt.

Worth the money!

This game is much better in every aspect. I know that an adjustment is needed, but thats true of any game. You simply need to download the sound patch for the game and that problem is cured! It simply takes a few minuts, but after that the game is a blast! I know anybody who liked Unreal 1 will be blown away by this game! Its much better than Unreal Tournament 1!

coffee to keep you up till the wee hours!!!

This is one of the best multiplayer shooters around and will be for as long as you can keep your eyes on a computer screen. Its sad people keep knocking this game because it's not perfect mainly because this build was never intended to be. They released this with the intention of getting good feed back for making it the best it possibly could get for a shooter. They have stated on there site that they intend to release fewcher installments on this game with new and improved levels, weapons, vehicles and modes of play. So vrs. other games around this is the one of the best investment around. This game is incredibly fun and dynamic to play let alone watch, with a flawless physics engine and the most amazing graphics youl see for a wile. Your eyes will weep for more, the screens here don't do the game justice in the slightest so see it for your self. The famous assault mode is gone but it will be back in Unreal The Awakening, in its multiplayer mode and definitely carry over to UT. I'll be waiting to blow you into glorious flying bits.

Amazing game

I have been playing computer games for many years now and this one is the most fun I have ever had playing. The graphics are amazing and the game play is easy to learn. You get so caught up in the online tournaments that you can forget what time it is. I have never experienced a game like UT 2003 and I highly reccommend it. My only advice is that you better have the latest PC to run on. You will need at least a 1ghz pc and 256mb ram and 64mb graphics card, preferably Nvidia. This game takes a lot of juice to run but its well worth it.

A fun title for fps lovers, and HOW DO I KNOW IF I LIKE IT?

unreal tournament 2003 is quite a controversial game.

the thing that most people will notice, is that it isnt as original a game as unreal tournament (first) was. the thing is, that its the same exact game, only... BETTER.

the graphics are just beautiful, ...

Lacking the Unreal Challenge

Although the Graphics in Unreal Tournament 2003 are excellent the game lacked the one on one challenge I experienced with the orginal Unreal Tournament. Here you can only run and shoot, no strategy needed, no making a stand with a snipper riffle.

If you can run it.

This game looks great, if you can run it. If you don't have a new pc with a smokin' video card, save your money. If you can't run the graphics on a high setting your missing alot. I would love to play this game now that I own it but don't want to purchase a new pc to do it. Be warned !

Unreal Tournament was a very, very successful FPS game. This is a generation step in quality gameplay and graphics. World designs are superb and superior to it's predecesdor. New weapons add to the excitement and take gameplay to the max. With over 35 new character models from 6 different races, everyone can find that perfect reflection to play as. Class-specific combos, role assignments, and teamwork directives highlight the ever popular cooperative teamplay. Never expect to die the same way twice with the new sophisticated in-game physics. The advanced Unreal Engine delivers the goods, putting gameplay to the max and leaving no eye candy left un-popping.

One Of The More P.O.ing Games Of This Year

I read about Unreal Tournament 2003 in p.c. gamer, and i remember promises of 'huge destructible enviroments' and 'a two person skiff'. So far, after purchasing it for 50 bucks, i have seen no signs of either the skiff or the 'huge enviroment.' I'm not p.o.ed about the skiff, but come on, skiffing is my life, if they take away the skiff... what next, THE GUNS. I mean the graphics are great and the gameplay, realistic, but THERES NO SKIFFING. I HAVE BASED MY LIFE AND MY RELIGION AROUND THAT GAME REVIEW, waiting for the game to come out-with a skiff-but alas, no skiff. Where has the world gone when you can promise-but not deliver-the skiff. IS THERE NO END TO THE TORTURE.

Just as addictive as the original

If you are a fan of first person shooters this is the game for you. Unreal Tournament 2003 is set up more like a sporting event than the traditional mission based structure. First and foremost, make sure your system can handle this game and you have a fast enough internet connection. I would recommend a P4 2.0GHz/AMD XP 2100 or greater speed CPU, 512 megs of RAM and a Geforce 4 or better video card for optimal performance. Also you should use a DSL/Cable or greater speed connection.

This game is broken up into 4 different categories. Traditional deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Double Domination, and Bombing Run. Of all of the game types, I think Bombing Run is the best. It's basically soccer where two teams play against each other and there is a ball (bomb) in the middle. The object is to put the bomb in the opponent's goal. If you run it through the goal you get 7 points, if you shoot it in the goal you get 3 points. The game that reaches 21 first wins the match. While holding the bomb you can't use any weapons which calls for your teammates to help support you while you run towards the enemy goal.

UT2003 comes with a full level editor tool, the exact same tool the developers of the game used in designing and building everything. This means that the MOD (modification) community can thrive, and does thrive, in creating new things for the game, be it levels/mutators/or character models. Currently there are thousands of user created maps out there on the internet, some of them quite well designed.

UT2003 is a very fast paced game. If you want realism then I would suggest looking somewhere else, however if you want a fast and fun arcade style game then this is it. Graphically there is no equal to this game right now (Doom 3 will be out in July however!) The 'rag doll' physics of the character models is impressive as well. The character models will actually interact with their environment. For example, if they fall on some stairs the body will be manipulated so that each stair bump will move a body part in the right way.

Finally the learning curve for this game is challenging, and that is a good thing. Throughout various maps there are small tablets called adrenaline that you can collect. You are also awarded adrenaline by fragging an opponent, running through a goal, etc. When it reaches 100 you can do a special combination, such as double your speed for a short time, or become invisible. This can really change the tactics of the team gameplay.

In closing, I highly recommend this game for anyone that is a fan of first person shooters. I didn't go into the other modes, but I'm sure if you know FPS games you have played something similar (especially DM and CTF).
