the graphics on this game will definetly push the envelope on your video card, this game is not geared for the average computer, better make sure you meet the recommened system requirements or you will not be able to truly enjoy this game, the graphics are A+,replay is A+,physics are A+,weapons are A+,man the game rocks!the violence is fairly high but thanks to infogrames you can practicaly turn down or off all the lewd taunts, blood and gore...which for myself i gather much more enjoyment without it.. check it out!multiplayer maddness

I have played the demo for about 2 weeks, and then a friend lend the game to me. I was stunned. The new weapon skins look pretty cool, and the level details are awesome!
I have a P4 and a G-Force 2 MX 400. I had the Graphics on highest, and it worked just fine! Gameplay is unbelievale in my opinion, the new "sniper" takes some getting used to, but once you know how to use it, you are unbeatable.
The new AI ist great. The last game in Sinplge-Player took me about 15 tries (on the hardest possible) because they use the whole map for once. Not the predictable normal stuff, they actually play this game as you do!
Multiplayer is just the best i've had since Counter-Strike. With a good team, or a couple of friends, it is FUN to get a headshot, because it actually is harder to do.
I think it improved since UT, but I miss the Assault Modus. Well... i think there already has been a mod released for this. So what is there not to like of this game?
Great graphics

I had a few comments on this game, mostly related to discussing the minimum requirements for the system, and how the game worked with those on my system.
My system runs this game good but not great set on normal settings for most things. I have a system that is at the minimum requirement for RAM and processor speed, having 128M of RAM and a 650-MHz Pentium III processor. My video card is above the minimum for the system, an nVidia GeForce4 MX440 with 64 megs of RAM, but that just means it's actually a GeForce2, since they re-branded it. So I get some stuttering during intense death matches if I try to use any of the special effects like trilinear filtering, dynamic lighting, decals, coronas, or a high level of background, physics detail, or texture detail. If I run everything at normal detail levels and don't exceed 16-bit color and 640x480 resolution, I'm okay. I'm planning on upgrading to 1 gig of memory in the next week or so, so that should help.
I used to play Quake III Arena and this is the best thing I've seen like that since it came out. As long as you have the minimum system requirements, which seem accurate based on my experience with my own system, you'll be okay. I have too slow a dial-up connection to have tried the online play feature, so I can't comment on that, but the death matches and other contests work great with just the computer controlling the other characters.
Overall, this is a game with really beautiful graphics and fast action, especially if you use the 16-character limit, which I do. Maxing out this value doesn't seem to have as negative effect on performance as the other visual effects and makes for a much more exciting game.
Disappointing

The long-anticipated revolution never came.
With Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 (the next generation in FPS's) endlessly delayed, the gaming world turned its hopeful eyes to Unreal Tournament 2003. And finished with nothing.
I must preface this by saying that I always preferred Quake 3 Arena to Unreal Tournament, but this is bad even for that franchise. The gameplay is slow, the highly reviewed 'realistic lighting' is all but non-existant, and the AI couldn't hit an elephant with a cannon at 3 feet.
If you're looking for a new thrill, relive Quake 3 on Nightmare, wait for Doom 3, and save your pennies.
best game in the world

First off let me say that the first UT did not meet my expectations when compared to Quake3. The movement, even when the mouse sensitivity was maxed, was sluggish. So, I did'nt get my hopes up about 2K3. Then I downloaded the demo. OMFG! This game is a blast. It actually reminds me of a suped up Quake3. The demo runs great. I've only been playing multi-player games and it's real fluid. In fact I've been neglecting Wolfenstien for the last few days playing a new multi-player mode in UT2K3 where the 2 teams need to get possession of a gold ball and score in the opposing teams goal. You can pass the ball to your team-mates and defend or take it all the way for the score. Very addictive, especially the InstaGib with low gravity. I can't wait to see what other new modes were added. Of course there's still the game show announcer voice shouting DOUBLE KILL!, MULTI-KILL! and RAMPAGE! etc. when you're in the zone. This game represents the next ring on the ladder of arcade style combat. And if this game looks and plays this great, I can't wait to see what ID has in store for us in Quake4 or Doom. Man, just when the PS2 modem comes out and I get a little more excited about the future of online console gaming, a PC game like this comes out and pulls me right back in. Pick this up. It'll be money well spent.

The original UT was the most mature FPS when it came out, and UT2003 is the most mature FPS to come out now. It's really that simple.
The feel of this game is truly unreal. With that I mean realism that is unreal, as well as gameplay. Oh yeah, and the graphics and sound rox beyond anything out there at the moment. I think Quake 5 might start catching up with it. ...
Next generation ownage!

I have been following the development of this game for 6 months and have been playing the demo since it's release. This game will knock your socks off! Sure, people who wanted this to be Unreal Tournament with just some updated graphics and a few favorite gameplay tweaks are going to be disappointed, but for the vast majority of gamers, this game truly represents the next major step in first person shooters. The outdoor levels will take your breath away the first time you see them! And the indoor levels are more intricately detailed than ever. With the new game engine, the polygon count has been radically increased. The result is highly detailed, gorgeous worlds to immerse yourself in. There are some new weapons, but my old favorite, the Rocket Launcher, has come back better than ever. Most exciting is the introduction of a new game called Bombing Run. Basically it is sort of a cross between capture the flag and football. It already has a lot of people really excited about the possibilities since the demo version was released.
In addition, the game will ship with a vast array of tools to enable you to create your own game maps. There is no question, this game will be on my computer for a long time to come!
