This game takes you way up and beyond all expectations. The levle of 3-D realisum is uncomprehendable, and at the least, mind blowing. From the instant you turn this game on till the time that someone pries the controller from you hands this game will have you on the edge of your seat, and going almost out of your mind. When you combine the perfect stratigy, and skill games the only result is action packed Halo.
HALO IS THE BEST FPS EVER!!!

Halo is most definatley the best FPS game ever!
GRAPHICS: 10.00
JAW-DROPPING UNLIKE ANY GRAPHICS I'VE EVER SEEN
GAMEPLAY/STORY: 9.7
This is a very addictive game. The story is by far better than any other FPS's story. The only problem is that there are not too many weapons. You fly, drive, and glide on different veachles, and blast away at enemys. I could just go on and on here, but you'll see for yourself.
CONTROL: 9
Despite the XBOX's bulky controller, the controls are very easy to get used to, and it is really easy to get into the game, without concentrating on pushing different buttons. The ONLY reason I give the control a 9 is because of the size of the controller.
SOUND: 10
Compatible with all sorts of surround sound, etc... Very realistic. The sound is one of the greatest parts of the game.
FUN: TOO MUCH BETTER THAN TEN, SO I WONT PUT IT
Rating says it all. :)
----------------------------------------
Overall, this is a MUST-BUY if you have XBOX. Plus, there are tons of different multiplayer modes which are tons of fun. The cooperative mode, where two players play together is absolutley addictive.
----------------------------------------
Cons:
1. Not enough weapons, and you can only carry two at a time.
2. Levels can get a LITTLE BIT repetitive.
ONLY TWO CONS, and both are very slight.
I hope this review helped you make a decision. :)
Terrific game, but don't use it to justify buying the 'Box

It's time for an honest opinion of the game that X-Box owners tout constantly without pause: Halo. First things first: There is next to nothing original about this game. Rather, it seems more an experiment in REFINEMENT. Everything in this game has a very strong level of balance to it, and it doesn't seem that (besides graphics and in some cases sound) that Bungie took really big risks with this game. There aren't any bots to speak of, networked play has been around for years either on the PC or Playstation 2, there are few weapons to really speak of, enemy variety is also hurting, and the AI is fantastic but merely represents one of the best around, not a higher echelon in enemy intelligence. Multiplayer, alas, I haven't been able to play much of, and though it does show a lot of promise, especially with the vehicles and options, is pretty much as extravagant as Perfect Dark, the last game to define this genre and really push boundaries. People have also said that this takes the narrative of FPS to a new level. You can't really claim they're the first to go to this depth with the story, however, as both Nintendo and Sierra/Valve have pushed the envelope on FPS stories with their respective Pefect Dark and Half-Life. Control is near-perfect (save the clunky movement for vehicles), but doesn't make any leaps over other console FPS's (then again, if it ain't broke...).
This brings me to the only two advancements that Halo makes in the way of shooters: Graphics and sound. These are merely aesthetic details, too, but I will give Halo credit as it is the best looking game I have ever played, bar-none. While it doesn't have the graphical variety of later Gamecube games like Metroid and Wind Waker, everything has a gritty look to it here, and bump-mapping does make for some great eye-candy. Physics are terrific, as well, and the shadows cannot be matched by any other game. Reflections are also superb, and the people in the game are modeled with painstaking detail. Your jaw will drop at the opening cinema when you see the captain's facialm movements and expressions. Everything just seems to have its proper place in the game, and that really helps in drawing you into the admittedly well-crafted Starship Troopers-esque storyline. Sound, alas, is also pretty friggin good. Ricchochets of bullets and the roars of the Covenant as you bring them down are pleasing to the ear, as well as other ambient effects. The music, while sparse, becomes heart-poundingly intense at just the right times. The voice acting throughout is also well-cast. It does manage to set a bar for shooter audio that will be hard to match.
These things being said, I have no doubt in my mind that Halo isn't one of the greatest games to come out in awhile. Yet, my friends, it's just ONE GAME, on a system that really doesn't offer much besides that ONE GAME. Munch's Oddysee is about the only other game that acheives anything noteworthy or memorable (unless you count DOA:EBV's bouncing...uh...volleyball), but beyond that the water's pretty tepid in X-Box country. I'm guessing that's why this is all X-Box owners have to talk about; it's the only thing that's still keeping them entertained. Really guys, if you want things to be excited about, get a Gamecube, or at least a PS2. It's been almost a year and a half now; calm down already.
So good it should be banned

I played this at a Babbages. I drove thirty minutes each way and it was well worth it. The graphics on there are the best I have ever seen. Bond and Perfect Dark are in shame compared to Halo. Co-op levels are well designed and layed out, while the difficult level is still very high. Moreover, the levels for multiplayer are amazing. The amount of work I will do from now will diminish greatly. I doubt I am the only one.
this game ROCKS!!!!!!

Halo is by far the best first person shooter out there. Halo is one of the most fluid games I have ever seen, the loading times are almost instantaneous and are just a flicker of the screen during the level. The game developers paid much attention to detail (individual blades of grass and bark on trees). The graphics are truly breath taking. The developers made the controls very easy to learn and resemble that of TIMESPLITTERS for the PS2, the left joystick for moving forward and the right for looking around. The levels are huge and the enemies are ruthless, with wide open areas to explore, this game leaves you with a tremendous amount of replay value. Once you're done with this game you are just dying to see if you can handle the game on the hard difficulty setting. The AI is truly amazing, you would think you were playing a huge game of multiplayer with your buddies on your side. They talk to you and even swear at you when you shoot them. Now on to the story, the most immersive story in any first person shooter. At first, the story starts out slow, but you are in for a major surprise at about the sixth level.
Now the multiplayer, there are so many multiplayer modes to explore, with literally over a dozen modes, this multiplayer experience will leave you with hours upon hours of fun. The vehicles in this game are amazing and so are ther weapons. With all of that out of the way, I am telling you that XBOX is probably the best console on the market as long as you give it a chance and get over all of your Microsoft gripes. Halo is a must-buy. A killer app.

I just finished Halo last night and all I can say is wow! This game made my hands sweat and heart pound.
The use of the built in rumble back was inspired. The feedback really made it seem real.
The use of music tugged the strings of my emotions making me scared when they wanted me scared and excited when they wanted me excited.
But most of all, the story was great. Halo was like a great novel I could not put down. I couldn't wait to get to the next level to find out what would happen next.
Halo has been sent from heaven...

I was able to play this demo at some Electronics Boutique locations and immediately fell in love with it. Everything about it is great... multiplayer, regular play, enemy & cooperative AI, everything! If you're a (soon to be) XBOX owner, get this game! It's amazing!
