I haven't really had the chance to play games as often as I haven't the money for any systems (college student without a job, you know the deal) and I find a lot of the newer ones to be rather difficult to get into.

Luckily, here we have a game that doesn't require hours of participation just to figure out, but can eat up hours of your time if you're not paying attention. It's a pretty fun game indeed, running around killing those little Covenant things.

The controls are a little annoying. Modern games have this ... thing... about controlling movement with two joysticks. I think this is to make it more realistic or to give the hardcore gamer a lot of control. Whatever the case it's annoying to the everyman gamer and starts to hurt your hands due to the bulkiness of the X-box controller. ...here's where I ignite controversy by saying the X-box is NOT a good system.

Anyways, the game itself has a sufficient storyline, albeit not that fascinating. I give it props for its well-paced difficulty levels, making it easy to explore in easy and near impossible to get anywhere on its most difficult setting. It is rather enjoyable even though it doesn't have very many game mechanics beyond point-and-shoot. Soundtrack is okay...

It's much more worth it to have around for multiplayer, though. So if you have a lot of friends... eat your heart out. You can still have fun with single player, just once you start beating everything it gets kind of boring replaying it all.

This is a great game. The graphics and gameplay are top notch.
Its obvious that the designers and Microsoft spent a lot of time on this game as they knew it would be key to early sales of the Xbox console. If you have a Xbox I would highly recommend this game.

This has to be the best game ever !! I received this game for x-mas with my new x-box. After I started playing it I could not stop. Does not compare to any other games I have played, a MUST have. The action is non stop, keeps you on your toes. I haven't played it in multiplayer mode yet but look forward to it.

ok for anyone who even posts a review about Halo and criticizes it, why do you even take the time to make a review if you hated the game? More people enjoy the game then hate it and thats their opinion! I on the other hand love this game! I got a xbox 360 and halo and halo2 for christmas and I got 15 gmaes with it.Halo is the only game I have played for more than 5 hours since I got it! I have stayed up 3 days straight playing it and cant stop! If anyone agrees with me holla back:) The vehicles are sweet and the weapons are awesome! The monitor is annoying but that doesnt affect my score! Overall Great game and hope to buy Halo 3 really soon! Anyone who wants to make fun of Halo, email me at dragon200447@hotmail.com

This game is supposed to be about combat,not about chasing migit sized,blue blooded alien wannabees!(which is alot of fun I might add,especially with the warthog!)This game only turns on 30 not 60,providing you with a half boring game,25%slow gameplay experiance,and 25% of awsome weapons...but with extremly low fire rates,ding dong the witch is dead!Now the highlight of this title is clearly(to me)the vehicles.In how many games can you just pull up and the military will jump on and help you?(I wish i could drive a warthog down the street amd women would get in,sensational!OH COME ON IM HITTIN PUBERTY!!)well thats it I hope that you will heed this(hopefully)helpfull review and get HALO 2 instead,if you havnt already and steer clear of this one!

HALO is no way a "Legend" game it will be forgotten about sadly reasons:
1)GTA came out the same time,GTA is better according to critics.
2)Nothing as exciting as the last gen FPS games like DOOM,Duke Nukem,007 GoldenEye.
Say DOOM and Duke Nukem debuted as a series on XBox-with HALO,but DOOM and DN and i suppose Goldeneye had XBox graphics,sound etc. and also HALO was out.i`m afraid HALO would lose-DOOM would be the XBox fanboys "most powerful weapon" against the PS2 fanboi`s-not HALO,Duke Nukem would come second,than 3rd HALO and the rest of XBox games.
Thats why HALO is conciddered great as it has no rivals.yes HALO is good but not anyway a classic,its too futuristic and sounds like a 5 year olds TV show and "game" look you can imagine this:
KID:"I`M gonna be Master Cheif and use my magic powers to defeat the aliens".
The best FPS on XBox to me is actually Far Cry:Instincts,and HALO ranks about 5th or 6th.
I don`t see why its so hyped.XBox needs more DOOM,and also a Duke Nukem game-then me and some other people would not have to listen to the hype and bullkrap of HALO as much.
Sorry if i offend it there but its true,HALO is nothing comapred to its FPS ancestors.
But as long as HALO is the only "Hyped" FPS on XBox,it will remain as top,its a bad thing Far Cry:Instincts is a so MUCH better game,as is Rainbow Six 3,DOOM 3(needs more DOOM games),Ghost Recon,and so on.

Halo is an extremely sweet, breathtakingly good graphics and sound, game that deserves what award it got. "Game of the Year". I can tell that 3 years of development really paid off. Bungie really did a extremely good job delivering what it said it would, "The best shooter ever created". Ask anyone who has played this game how additive it is and they wil give you this answer, "I cant put the controller down!". Oh and by the way. I am 21. My laptop isnt working very well right now. Just to clarify that. And I will give a shout out the the guy who wrote nothing but negative comments on this game.
Sure this game isnt as good as you wanted it to be. But nobody cares that you dont like it. Reviews are intended to get someone to buy a game. Not shuter them out of buying it. You are the type of person that just had nothing better to do with his free time. The graphics are excellent on this game. You dont know wut you are talking about man. If you think the graphics are so crappy why did you even bother to play? Wuldnt that just be a waist of your time and bungies for waisting their time producing a copy for you?
Now that that part is out of the way the real deal with this game.
Halo is a first person, beautifully rendered, sound smart game of the year that is an addiction like smoking, once you start, its nearly impossible to stop. I first played halo and thought it was a waist of time till I got farther and farther then realized what I wa doing wrong to not get the ful effect of the game in my head. I didnt watch the movie of how this all came about on the game so I watche it fully and then got to enjoy it. Next thing you know I was in my room with surround sound on and killing elites like I had only minutes of game time left to ply. The replay value for this game is nice. The more times you play. The more exp you get from it and the better you get. I saw this game on a 16 player game of team slayer at a tournament that was nearby and let me tell you. Some guys have got skillz to pay their billz while others wouldnt stay alive to save their lives. The artiliary, get around vehicles and other little things in the game are wut make this game a look at. If you think you may like this game then give it a shot. Who knows. Maybe you will be up here as the best player around like me. I am ranked number 37 best player ever to play this game. Maybe if we meet on xbox live we can have a game or 2. Well i got 4 more reviews to write for most wanted, prince of persia, king kong, halo 2, and god of war. Later

How can people styand this game anyway? Oh and for the record, I am not some stupid Sony or Nintendo fanboy who rides a comapnies _____ and drops out of school like the pathetic losers they are. Too many Halo fans are just losers too, pathetic nerds who drop out of school because they were too busy playing this __________ game. The people who give people who like videogames a band name. Since gaming started, these ignorant ______bags are the reason why all gamers are considerd nerds. Well _____ labels, just because somelike likes Castlevania, dosen't mean they are a geek who can't get a girlfriend. I like Mario, Castlevania, Phantasy Star, Lumines, and other games, and I become an instant nerd! How dumb does that sound? So if you nerds want to stop being called a nerd, stop dressing like a total ______ (don't be trendy though, _______ trendy people can die) and stop trying to live up to the expectations. Both parties really need to get a life. Oh and since I am on the nerd subject: to the people who call people who actually spend 2 hours studying during the week losers with no life, your a _______ to. SO let's see, people are trying to get a good education so they can actually have a good life, and get a good job, have no life? And these people waste ALL of their time going to parties (partying rules, just don't ruin your life).and wasting their future away to being some pathnetic piece of _____ who works at a gas station for 14 hours and dosen't make ____, instead of getting a high paying job and only working 8 hours. I don't mean to sound like your mother, but it's true. DOn't be the no name person who works at Walmart (by the way I hate Walmart), and hangs out behind a liquor store with a bunch of dropouts. And yes, if you don't want to get to college, your not a loser, but the true point is, don't be a lowlife who has a ________ life. Trust me, life's alot better with money, better work hours, and more time hanging out with people outside of work (the people who work at Walmart don't get the weekends off). DOn't study 8 hours a day and be a _________ know-it-al either. Balance your life between school and your friends, sports, whatever you like to do. And one other thing, if you can't balance school and a day job, quit your job. IFyou get a crappy education, your left with a _________ job instead of the other real jobs (day jobs are fine, just don't let it get in your way).

Okay now Im done with those POS. Now to this overrated POS. Whoope-de __________-do, run and gun and shoot mindlessly. This game just never give you anything else. How do people actually like this game? So it's a shooter, and it has a lot of action. WHoop-de-________-do! I also want to know how people stand the same actions over and over again. At least some shooters actually give you something. I am not a fan of first person shooters, but I do know that they are fun, except this. This game is generic as they come. Retarded, generic aliens, dumb sci-fi plot, stupid characters (Master chief, ahem), and oh yeah, not fun. Great social game? Whatever. IF you like this, good for you, but I don't liek this game, so STFU. _______ Halo, and if you don't agree with this review ____ you too!

And yes, I know I will get alot of not-helpful votes because some Halo nerd gets offended by anybody who bashes this ___________ game, but go ahead. Cliched statement yes, but hey, the reason why cliches are done to death is because they were good in the first place. Yes, Halo is cliched, but the ________ sci-fi theme they did is nothing new, and sci-fi never was interesting anyway.

this is like the best game when it came out but if u want this game you'd better get halo 2 it is way better and has way better graphics.
