Best shooter on the Xbox

OK, Halo may not be as realistic as most military shooters, but it's still an awesome game. In the plot, the super soldier must travel to the ring world called Halo to fight the Convenant (the aliens) to their attempts to rule the galaxy. Your main objective is to destroy Halo. And now, I'll mention the other features of this game. If you invite 1 friend over to play Halo, versus mode is fun, but it's more fun to have more people play. Hell, you can even have up to 16 players if you link 4 Xboxes. You can customize your own games by setting weapons, vehicles, rules, etc. You have a wide variety of colors to choose from for your character. Campaign can be fun too, but co-op is more fun, because of the extra help. Your difficulties are easy, normal, heroic, and legendary. Good luck playing legendary. In conclusion, rent this game or buy it. You'll probably agree that it's awesome.

Mediocre

I usually don't write online reviews, but Halo warrents one. It's just another game. I wasn't impressed. The levels are highly repetitive and get boring quickly. I never finished this one, not because of the diffuculty, but because it gets old rather quickly. After a while all they do is throw enemies at you. I don't know how Halo got this big of a buzz. Honestly. Metroid Prime was a lot better. If you want to compare it to other FPS, Medal of Honor blows it away in every way. Including Multiplayer. I guess people believe what they are told. I'll be looking for Halo 2 to actually be good and live up to some of the overhype of the first one.

One hell of a game

First-person shooters excel on the PC (Quake, Unreal, Half-Life etc.), but haven't really worked well on a games console, partly for the de facto marriage of FPS + mouse and keyboard, and partly for the lack of online functionality. The developers of Halo for the Xbox (Bungie) don't seem to have worried about this a great deal. Rather, they have created a game which ranks among the best ever made, a truly sublime experience that manages to be more than just another videogame. Everyone knows how good the game looks and sounds (even three years on), but the key to understanding Halo's longevity and instant appeal is how beautifully the game plays, even in the 'limited' multiplayer mode (no WAN play). In the main this is due to only being able to carry two weapons at once, forcing the player to think strategically and assess each weapon's strong and weak points. This is a stroke of genius on Bungie's part. Far too many shooters are a case of find the big weapons and bludgeon your way through, akin to using an axe to spread your toast with butter - it works but it's messy and lacks a certain panache. Halo on the other hand has panache in spades. It rewards intelligence, creativity and patience. It punishes the reckless and the unskilled. The Xbox controller is at first awkward, then soon feels like it was purpose-designed for Halo. The filmic qualities of Halo are only matched by exemplary titles such as Half-Life, for which it shares the same brooding atmosphere, a haunting score, and a sense of grandeur. This is a game for those that appreciate the finer things in life, as well as a frenzied ruckus. There are perhaps only few things more satisfying than waiting until two enemies are in tandem, thus enabling you to kill them both with a single shot from the sniper rifle, having awareness of the weapon's armour pass-through abilities. The single-player game is worth the asking price alone, boasting superb level design (though occasionally monotonous), varied environments, and battle encounters to rival Lord Of The Rings. The inclusion of a range of vehicles is not just an afterthought either. It takes genuine skill to use each vehicle to its fullest capability. Sometimes it pays to use a vehicle to crush as many enemies as possible; at other times a vehicle is simply a means of getting from A to B, or hard to reach places - the Banshee can act as a virtual teleporter and advance you to stages of the game that would be half an hour later in normal play. One weakness is the tank, which is sometimes just a little too powerful, nuking everything in its wake. Only then does the game feel like its challenge has waned. But these are minor criticisms. This game redefines the FPS experience. Period. It is possible to go through life without having played it. But I wouldn't recommend it.

This game got an GAME OF THE YEAR AWARD!! Funny jokes to!

This is one game that crushed GAMECUBE,PS2. GameCube sells the less games half of what XBOX PS2. Anyway the game is so cool. My recommend sultion is to get the PC game of Halo. You can chlange other players around the country. Thats not all I once read a review and this kid was saying that METROID PRIME was better. My brother Reed kissed the Xbox one time. Anyway get the PC game or you can get the xbox Halo.

When I first put the Halo in my Xbox I wondered how good it could be. Then after I got used to the controls I played for hours. I was always a Doom and DoomII fanatic. But, now I found a new game I can play for a long fun time.

I can say that the whole family, even the neibors got addicted to this game... Graphics are awsome!! No matter what the age tey can play. My youngest one loves going on an alien hunt. I can say it is deffinetly a challanging game. You never know exactly where you need to go next and run around for ever, but once you find your spot and beat that part, you seem to have to stay and try to beat the next level. I would recomind this game, it is challanging and very hard at times, but well worth the fun!!

best game ever

Halo not only has a great story game but also has in my opinion the best multiplayer games in XBOX and perhaps all game systems. the ability to hook up many consoles on different TV give the ability to amass large quality games. From Capture the Flag to Slayer to Team slayer whatever game you play you can find hours of quality enjoyable gaming
