It's Halo

Need I say more? This game started it all! the storyline is great and the game play is awesome. I bought this game when it first came out and still play it to this day.

I do recommend to play with a friend, it adds to the experience.

All I can say is wow. I already had Halos 2&3 when I bought this, so I wasn't expecting much. However, the graphics were as good as Halo 3. Also, if you liked 2&3, this game has a jungle scene, a beach scene, a valley scene, a forest scene,... more so then even 3. the game play is great, everything exceeds expectations. It even takes less time loading than 2 or 3. If you like the other Halos, or even own both, you should still get this game. 6 OUT OF 5 STARS!!!!!!!!! I love you, Bungie Corporation.

This is the game that got all of those Xbox systems off the shelves. This is the game than ensured Microsoft success. This is the game that revolutionized console shooters.

The graphics are top notch for the time, but were quickly topped by other games, including its big brother, halo 2. There was a large amount of textures and shine. This game has a sort of realistic yet unfamiliar look to it. The guns and character models are pretty well detailed. What's really impressive to me is how far you can see. Essentially, the game was fantastic from a technical perspective, but it didn't stay on top for long.

The sound is great. The soundtrack is one of my favorite in-game soundtracks. As for the sound effects, they're pretty solid, with some standouts like covenant vehicles and explosions.

The game-play is where this game really shines. This game revolutionized how shooters control on consoles. If you play a shooter on the new consoles, you'll notice the controls are very similar if not the same. They also figured out the perfect amount of auto-assist aiming to implement to make up for the inaccuracy of analog sticks. All of the guns and grenades are really balanced, well except for the human pistol, that thing is a little rigged. The story is surprisingly good and surprisingly long for a shooter. I've enjoyed playing through it a couple times. There's one really cool surprise that I won't ruin. Local multi-player is awesome. Split screen is cool, but LAN parties are really a load of fun, you can go into the wee hours of the night.

Just an amazing game. Although it seems to be a love it or hate it kind of game. If you own an Xbox or Xbox 360 and you haven't played a Halo game, I don't know what I can do for you.

Well I've been playin this game for about a week and so far It's been awsome! Halo rules! There is just no comparison out there and I'm glad I ignored all of the negativity and bought the X box anyways. I've played for as long as 3 1/2 hrs and have never had any problems with the system. I'm sure that the Game Cube is nice with all of those cute fuzzy games and it's cheap price but you know what? I'm 28 yrs old and those cute and fuzzy games don't do anything for me and Nintendo's past gaming history just doesn't appeal to me. I would have paid much more for the X Box. It's just that good.

Halo is quite honestly a great game to play. Let me breakdown quickly my pros and cons of the game.

PROS
*The Graphics: Simply exquisite. I found myself at times wanting to just look around. For instance the swamp level with fog effects as well as taking three takes to look out of the porthole of the ship on the "maw" level.

*The gameplay is great also. The Covenant aliens and flood just kept on coming, with an uncanny intelligence. Just try to run over the enemy aliens and they will dive out of the way of the vehicle. The only minus on gameplay is it would have been cool if I could have had the ability to dive out of the way myself.

*Replayability is high: I enjoyed playing the multiplayer and cooperative modes.

CONS
*The story - The only minus, or detractor of the game is the support for the story. Cut scenes and cinematics are very important in the single player mode unlike the cooperative mode. I play the cooperative mode in order to collaborate with my boys on fraggin' some aliens. The single player mode has a different motivation for me to play- I want to know what's the story on Halo and what new twists am I going to encounter. Endless levels of alien killing gets old after a while. A good story should continually re-immerse you in the game to refresh the combat.

ADDITIONALLY NEUTRAL COMMENTS
*Game controls - It took a little while before any control configuration felt natural. Would I change it NO. After I adapted, I easily maneuvered my way around.

We have all been waiting on the release of the Xbox since february and one of the most anticipated games was Halo. And microsoft lived up to our expectations. Graphics are very slick and nice and gameplay is really fun. I've only beaten it on easy, and the levels are, well, there aren't too many of em'. But since there are four difficulty levels (and legendary is impossible to beat), it will leave you in front of your TV screen for hours. And with the high definition AV pack, in dolby Digital, you will never leave your living room. And trust me, you'll paly forever!

Pretty graphics, decent multiplayer, but half of the single player repeats itself. Too bad, because that seems to be the main idea of the XBOX - pretty but shallow

I dont think antone knows what the hell they're talking about. Halo is by far NOT the best shooter ever. It can be just as easily matched with Duke Nukem 64 for N64. Look, i have a gamecube, and if you want a real shooter, send your piece of crap X-BOX to hell and get a gamecube. X BOX sux X COX!!!! The only reason it even gets a 1 outa 5 is because it's a game!

If you wan to get xbox then you might as well buy a carboard tv from a hobo so you can play xbox on it and it won't make a difference if it was on a working tv. Halo has horrible graphics which even luigi's mansion (which was actually a pretty good game) could beat. I wish i could have given this game less but it only went down to one star. In conclusion: buy Nintendo the REAL gaming company and send Bill gates back top his little computer company or whatever he does.

I just bought an x-box about 2 hours ago and it came with halo, I've read all the online reviews and user reviews which said how great the graphics were, how amazing they were in fact. So I go home with a big smile on my face and fire up the x-box expecting great things, thats not what I got, the graphics in this game are BAD !!!, really really really Bad, just turn the game on and slowly look around in the first screen of the game, the laddering was so bad on every straight line that the screen was swimming.
Perhaps in comparison to PS1 or PS2 games the graphics are good but if you are a PC gamer with even a geforce2 card you will be seing much much better graphics on your PC.

To sum it up, if you own a PC, especially a good one with a recent graphics card and are thinking about buying an x-box because of all the hype about games like halo then you will be disappointed, it's a long way off a good PC.

Disappointed x-box owner :(
