This game is one of the best RPG i ever played. The graphics are great and the interface is simple enough a begginer could pick up and play. The story is also pretty damn engrossing.
The only thing i had against the game was that it was short.
i wish a expansion pack or a sequel comes out soon.

The stellar, new standard for RPG

I didn't really know what to expect when I bought this game- I purchased it before I read all the reviews and press about it and its Xbox predecessor. Simply put, this game blew me away and defined, for me at least, what future CRPGs should strive to be. A simple interface, a compelling story, beautiful graphics and terrific voice-acting makes this game a true standout in every sense of the word. I actually feel like I'm in the Star Wars universe, and I sense my character's ever-growing influence in the story. Better yet- I get to be a freakin' Jedi! Nothing gets the blood running faster than firing up that hard-earned lightsaber for the first time- or, maybe you use two at the same time? Whew!
The game is made all the better because it looks like an action adventure game, though it really is a dice-rolling probability engine running things. You don't need to be a first-person-shooter pro to play, either, which is a bonus in my mind. Buy it and behold what the best RPG to date can be for you!

Might be good game -- couldn't get it to download completely

My son (7) used a gift certificate to purchase this game for his birthday. It came with 4 dics that we downloaded correctly but the game would not play. We kept getting an error message that our graphics were not sufficient. We don't do much PC gaming, but we have a fairly new Dell laptop computer that we assumed was sufficient. If the item description had been more advising that certain requirements would prevent the game from working -- we wouldn't have wasted his time. We have yet to receive credit for this item. A HUGE HASSLE!! We'll stick to the PS2 games from now on.

Best Starwars Game ever

This game is the Star Wars with a twist of the Sims. It is a fun mix of two great things. It takes place 4,000 years before the Star Wars we have known and loved. And 4 yewrs after the Manderlonian wars. The Sith have gathered a mass armada of ships and have almost overwhelmed the old republic.

Hope to enjoy - - - someday

After going through the FOUR install disks, I found that it wouldn't play on my W2K Pro laptop, so I uninstalled it and installed it on our Win XP desktop - seems to work. Seems very laborous to set up the actual game (a lot of player pref flexability)- but one of these days I'll take the time to go through it and actually play a game. Also, after installing, you STILL NEED to keep disk 1 in the disk tray to actually play the game - which is just a nusance -- too much big brother George trying to ensure his payment...

unbalievable!

Required a computer upgrade for me to play. I thought my computer was top of the line but still required a better graphics card. Cost $200.00. Then when I got it running it blew me away. Easily 24 hours of actual game time logged in on one game. It became all I was thinking about until I finnished it a week after I started. Mezmorizing! It felt like the movie with plot twist, exploring different planets in a 3d world, and a suspensful showdown with your rival. Definatly a ten out of ten. It may lose it's appeal though after a few times through since it is limited in its veriety. 3d gameplay and exploration. Conversation choices with other characters and short story movies to enhance plot. Choice of companions that support you in your combat. Truely awesome.

Couldn't have asked for more...

Knights of the Old Republic is a very good game that will offer the gamer many hours of enjoyment.

Charactor development is good, you can also choose from 9 NPCs, all with good to excellent back stories, to help you. Mixing and matching the NPCs on various missions helps to keep things from getting stale.

There are somes bugs in the game such as graphics rendering issues and some isolated game play issues, but these are very minor and don't impair playability. Voice acting is OK.

Where this game really shines is in telling a Great story with neat twists and humour. The roll play element is very well done and game balance is terrific. the star subtraction is just for the tech glitches and alien voice acting.

A really excellent time! KUDOS Bioware!

This is a top game....

I initially tried to play this game when if first came out and my system had multiple crashes, so after at least 5 times of loading and unloading I gave up and chalked it up to bad software program....then Knights 2 came out and I was able to play that.....so...then I realized that there was probable a lot I was missing having never commplete 1 so...finally got it loaded and with my new technique of saving frequently got through the game....so my advice is get both 1 & 2 get the patches and prepare for many hours of great story telling and adventure.

This is my 1st game I bought.

Since I am a "Star Wars" fan for a little over 2 decades, I have decided to make this one to be my 1st Xbox game. If you like playing RPG, you will like this one. I found it extremely hard to remove myself from the game.
It is important to pay attention in certain plots in the game and how you select your group can make a different. I like the concept that you can choose your path and which Jedi Class. I enjoy learning how to become a Jedi through the training and the tenets of the Jedi Code. This one I remember it well from Yoda in Star Wars V. I am glad that I had made the switch from PC to Xbox.
And my last entry: Now we can go online! See you in the Game!
May The Force Be With You..........
