I suggest this game to all star-wars/RPG lovers out their. Sure your character never talks but WHAT THE HELL EH! I only played the first part of the game to where you go into the first swoop races (if there is more). This game just RULES! The graphics are amazing (cept when it comes to buildings not in play and all the civilians have the same basic voice) BUT WHO CARES it"s a great game and you have to try it out!

Great game, must buy

The best Star Wars games yet. Amazing battle system, amazing story, amazying character development. Yes there are minor technical difficulties, but how often do u see a game without any? I didnt find those technical problems too badly that would ruin my gaming experience. Do yourself a favor and grab the game, it gave me new faith on PC gaming .. well at least PC RPG gaming (since BG2)

Fantastic

This game is enormously fun. the only complaint i has was that this game had some problems with ATI graphics cards. i had a horrible time at first with the graphics, being really choppy and such. Bioware recently released an updtae for the game for ATI 9600 users. This mod has completly fixed all the bugs and the game is running beautifully with maximum res. Gameplay is awesome and the cinematography is outstanding. A definate must buy.

I run this game on a laptop, and I almost never get crashes. I've beaten it twice. I had to turn some of the features down or off to make it run smooth in certains area, but that wasn't a big deal, it still looked great. I love this game.

RPG at its best!

This game took a while to get used to, but once you're familiar with the different screens, it's a pleasure to play! The high level of customization is fantastic and makes for a more realistic game. True players will truly enjoy this game, most definitely my best buy of the year!

This is by far one of the best games ever. I am a kid and other kids have said that all you do is click on the bad guy and it kills him for you. Well it is definetly not as easy as they put it. It contains so much strategy and it is very complex. I got through it though so it is not impossible. I am not a big star wars fan but this game was soooooooooooo fun. The characters and storline is awesome. You practically control the game and your destiny (dark side or light side). In the beginning it sort of drags on but once you get craking it is impossible to stop. At the end wheter you choose the light or dark side everything changes. If dark side is your path you kill all your party members and kill all the jedi and the sith lord to become the new sith lord and you win. The lihgt side you turn your fallen party member (Bastila) to the light again and kill the sith and sith lord and are the hero of the republic, jedi, and galaxy. I chose the Light finding it more rewarding. Everything is awesome everything is pros I have no cons (other people do because their computers aren't so great) BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!

Buy this game

If you enjoy playing games this is one of the greats. It takes about 45 hours to complete but you can play it twice and have two completely different endings. A large RPG with almost limitless weapons and things to collect. A true Star Wars game that has the feel of the first three movies yet is not just a movie game. I have never enjoyed any of the other Star Wars games but this one has something the others missed; fun.

Amazing.

There are no words to describe how amazing and wonderful this game is. I've played it on the Xbox and what Bioware was able with the transfer to the PC was seamless. The controls are great, and the atmosphere is reeking of Star Wars (in a good way).

This game has more atmosphere and more of a "Star-Wars" feel than the two prequels combined, no joke. The differences from playing the game as a Jedi or as a Sith is very exciting, and with the different character qualities, you'll be sure to go through this game more than once! The only thing you'll need is a fast computer, because this game is pretty glitchy and slow at times, even on my 2.8 and ATI Radeon 9800. Just a small warning.

This has passed Jedi Knight as my favorite Star Wars game. Buy this game.

Best RPG I've had the pleasure to play

This is the best RPG I've yet played. I only decided to write the review after playing the sequel and seeing how good KOTORI is in comparison. Graphically somewhat dated now, but still functionally pretty, especially the character models and expressions. Combat in the game is easy to learn, somewhat difficult to master. On normal I had fair difficulty on the first play-through, and then it was easier after that- but it felt like the right level of difficulty. Most important in this game, though, is the non-combat.

Depending on how you play it, about half the game is non-combat, and this is where KOTOR distinguishes itself from most games. The amount of characters, 'quests,' replayability, and non-linear gameplay is astounding. Even if there are certain things which must be done, there are many that are voluntary and the required ones can be done basically in any order. The characters available to be in the party are deep and uniformly humorous in their own ways. Having conversations with these characters yields interesting conflicts or, alternatively, amusing tidbits. Two of the characters (Jolee and HK-47) were always great for a laugh, and two others (Carth and Bastila) were very multi-layered with their own reasons for joining the fight. The characters (specifically the latter two mentioned above) also fit very well into the plot. Depending on the player-character's gender, there is an available romance. The light-side-male romance with Bastila particularly resonates with the plot-ideas of redemption. It's seldom that I actually care what happens to NPCs, but this game managed it better than most motion-pictures.

KOTOR also gives the player the real chance to be either 'light' or 'dark' sided, and provides excellent plotlines for both. I have played the game numerous times, and I can see great reasons to be each side. Furthermore, there are several 'surprises' during the course of the game, but each is done very well. After finding out these plot-twists, the game leading up to them suddenly clicks into focus and everything makes sense in a satisfying way. This persists through the entire game, and leads to satisfying endings based on the choices of the player (to be light or dark, to have a romance or not, etc.). The only con that really struck me was that the ending was a little shorter and hackneyed than it could have been. Specifically the light-side end cinematic seemed a little too happy and cheerful, and could have used some more meaningful dialogue. Still, it seems like a perfect conclusion compared to KOTORII (The Sith Lords). Anyone who has an interest in RPGs or good plots will eat this game up, probably more than once.
