Fun new type of Nintendo game...

This game is awesome. It may look boring, but there's so much to do and so much to explore it always stays fun. The graphics are so realistic when you zoom out all the way, but look kinda cartoonish if you zoom in. The presentation is pretty cool. The sounds and music are probably the best quality of the game. The music is catchy and fun, and the sounds are perfect. The gameplay would be a 10/10, but it kinda gets frusturating when the giant monsters kill a whole bunch of Pikmin. This game is pretty long, and probably takes about 20-25 hours to complete. The lasting appeal is an 8.5/10 because you might want to go back through the game and see if you can complete it faster. I highly recommend this game to any Gamecube owner.

Gamemaster Jason speaking. This game is really good. I am not bragging or anything but I have xbox, ps2 and gc. I have never seen any game on any of these systems as wierd as this. I play it alot and the graphics and the sound are very good. I was reading one of the issues on Nintendo Power magazines and an article on Pikmin caught my eye. It said that the whole world of pikmin that u play in as Olimar is the same thing as the living legend myamotos back yard and that He was inspired by the bugs in it. I think that is very cool. Pikmin is a very cool game but the only reason I gave it 4 stars is the fact that it is a bit short (I beat in 3 and a half days) and that such a short game uses so many memory card blocks. I had to get another one since I had saved a couple of snapshots in melee, a few on luigis mansion and a few sports games which took up the rest. The game is overall, good but could be improved if a Pikmin 2 or something like that comes out. Well anyway, I recommend that you get this game cause it is very fun and is a very good strategy game for people of all ages.

Yes I agree with everybody else that this is very original, strange, and short. Not to mention HARD!! you have 30 days to find a bunch of pieces for your spaceship that has crashlanded on an alien planet. Im not quite sure but i think that each day is like 10 to 15 min. There are different color pikmin that have different powers, I dont want to spoil the story so...(i dont know about you but i have played games when I was 5 that was like this, looking for missing parts. Does the game Put-Put come to mind to any of you kids?. Nevermind...) The controls are great but controling the pikmin are hard. say you are walking up a ramp. some of your pikmin fall off and are walking into a wall. they are to stupid to climb up and follow you. I have to give credit to Nintendo for not making the game lag once you have 100 pikimin max. in motion. If you get this game, I advise you get a stragety guide with it. Like i said, its hard. I still give it four stars because it is fun to watch and play, and you are always doing something. The colors are bright and will attract many kids to play. I hope that this has been helpfull to you. I recommend this to people of all ages who like a challenge and like strategy.

I bought Pikmin with my Gamecube last week. This game is very easy to get into and hard to put down. I recommend this game to any Gamecube owner. The only downside is that the game is sort of short. But you have to love the little pikmin!!!

I love his game, but don't play it more than an hour a day.

My friend got this game for his birthday. I played it at his house for no less than six to eight hours. I was absolutely obsessed. It was so fun and addictive, challenging and puzzling, and so much. All the stuff you can expect from my buddy Miyamoto...oh...except for the fact that I so exitedly bought a GCube, Pikmin, and Luigi's Mansion, and strategy guides for each the next day. Which is good, but I completely beat the game in a day. Buy the game! It's great! But be reasonable and don't play it too much.

But Pikmin is highly addictive fun! I began playing fairly blindly but have picked up more and more tips which has made the game even better! Many of the tasks are similar to figuring out the best way to be time efficient in order to get to your goals -- visually pleasing and incredibly fun stuff ... especially for the adult !

I own Pikmin and I just can't stop playing it. It is the one of the best games ever mad. The play conrol is easy but intuitive, the graphics are stunning and detailed and the plot, gameplay and lastibility are awesome. Any one who thinks they are to mature for this game, aren't mature enough to play it. Don't under estimate this titlt by its looks because just about anyone can get into it. Please do not listen to the people that criticize this game because they obviously have not played greatness. Try it out and if you are any type of gamer, I'm sure you'll love it.

Gift for my daughter

This is one of the only 2 games my daughter REALLY wanted for Christmas. She played it straight for 3 days, I had to hide the console. She still plays it like mad 4 months later.

Addicting. Fun. Total Waste of time. BUY IT!

pikmin, in short, is addicting.

while i had beat the game, in about a week, the problem was that i spent an abundent amount of time playing the game until the wee hours of the morning, eventually skipping work for a day just to get the 'job done'.
All I did, during that week, was either come home and play after work for 6-7 hours, play before work or the finaly breakdown, skipping work to play the damn game. My future brother-in-law watched me play and as he got a GC for christmas, started playing it as well.
There are some minor disappointments, simply being once you get the hang of the game, the game automatically becomes much easier. So it's not completely impossible to beat it in a week. Part of the great fun is the challange intially as you learn how to control all the little pikmin and exactly getting them to do what you need for them to do. The story line is kind of basic and simple and as a hint: You don't need to kill the last boss to get lift off the planet. Other disappointments is Captain Olimer's lengthy dialoge, which regardless of how you are doing, doesn't really change and he often repeats himself.
Even with the negative criticism, this is Nintendo's breakout game for the GC and is a definite must buy. I will be interested in seeing if they come out with Pikmin 2 later on and how that will develop.

This is game a must have. It is the best game I have seen yet(and i have seen quite a few games.) This has awesome graphics, music, and detail. It is great for all purposes and ages!! Get this game!
