The best example to date of why Miyamoto stinks nowadays

Never have I seen a game more engulfed in "Miyamoto's Curse", a term I use to describe Shigeru Miyamoto's recent trend of mediocrity in his design. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder what happened: his early work was so fantastic, yet this is so... not.

The problem with Pikmin (the problem being Miyamoto's Curse) is too big a focus on innovation, so big that no room is left for anything else. The team that designed Pikmin completely forgot to make sure it was any fun to play! They didn't even care! All that mattered to them, it seems, was that their final product be innovative, unique, and full of fancy gimmicks never seen before. And while such things are indeed fine and good (I should know; I myself am a game designer/programmer), they alone can never make a good video game.

It looks as if all of Pikmin's levels were designed over the course of two or three days. The attention given to them is PITIFUL. I'll grant you that the engine is quite impressive, but so what? It means nothing to me as a gamer. (As a programmer, however, I'm very intriged, and I sure would love to see the source code. It's a shame Nintendo doesn't believe in the open source movement, eh?)

So since most people playing Pikmin aren't programmers, I'm guessing they'll get nearly nothing out of it. (Nothing but eye-candy, anyway.)

Nintendo has been a fantastic company but it is killing itself with these kinda games. I try to find a way where I would be excited about gamecube but every game I look at it's made for a 5 year old. C'mon nintendo, I know you can do better than this. Lets see some RPG's and Shooters! No Pikmin (...)!

when i bouhgt it i thougt it would be fun i got home and started to play it and about a hour later it got to hard and boring

I cant believe how stupid this game was...Its ridiculous. I am so relieved to have only rented it, and at that, I felt stupid and ripped off...
Just not my cup of Java!

dont buy this game,

at the beginning its easy but not evan 30 minutes into the game and its way too hard.

We all know that this series should have died ages ago, but the ignorant folks at Nintendo seem to have forgotten that. This game is repetive beyond belief. You will most likely find yourself dozing off while playing just as I did. You'd be better off saving your money for Super Monkey Balls.

I have played this game because my friend got it and it is bad. You do nothing but walk around and all these plants follow you around doing nothig. Dont get it! I would recomend supper monkey ball it is cool.

PIKMIN IS AWESOME!
I rented the game when I went to my friends house.
We played it so much!
I love it.
Its really clever the story is funny and its challenging but not to challenging.
This game is difenit buy.
Watch out though, its one of those games you play for hours and it only seems like 5 minutes.

BUY THIS GAME!!
