I got this game because i thought it looked fun, with the whole concept and stuff. I started playing and i got to the 2nd level. Once I got to the 3rd level it became impossible - it was pointless! Enemies atacking from ever where and the instruction booklet tells you almost nothing :(

So... this game is boring, pointless, overly hard, stupid and a down right rip-off and I've had it for a year and I still cant understand why they put this game on the market!!!!

When I first purchased Pikmin, I thought it would be a fun game. I was wrong. The first thing wrong was the time limit. Each day was only fifteen minutes. The second thing wrong was that if you went into water, all of the pikmin drowned. The overall gameplay was boring. It seemed like you spent so much time fighting the big bosses and then trying to rebuild to the number of pikmin you had so you could fight again. Maybe younger gamers will enjoy this game, but older ones, be warned, stay away.

This game is simply brilliant. With eye popping realistic back-yard settings. This game makes it one of the newest-genre and coolest game on the gamecube. I love it and I am gonna buy it. The game has a whole lotta monsters to kill and pikmin to pick. this is one of the crispest and unglitchy game out there I really recomend it. Miyamoto said that when you play this game you control only Olimar(the captain), but you get the impression your actually moving the Pikmin, don't you think? When you play Super Smash Bros., you control just Mario, but this game will leave you feeling like you're actually Olimar and you're controlling the Pikmin. I don't know any other game that can acheive such a feeling.
Those were the exact words of Miyamoto. Truelly i read it in this book thing I got in the mail.

Red-Fire-resistant, the stronger of the pikmin

Yellow-best thrower/flier, best for throwing over walls and blowing up walls and other stuff like that

Blue-water resistant, best swimmers for under water shortcuts. Or for under water paths leading to a ship part.

IT IS A FUN GAME. I LIKE THE GRAPHICS.I HATE HOW IF YOU DISSMISS THE PIKMIN THEY TURN PALE.I LIKE HOW IT SHOWS GHOSTS OF THE PIKMIN WHEN THEY DIE.I DON'TTHINK THE 'ONION'LOOKS LIKE AN 'ONION'.IN ALL IT'S A GOOD GAME.

You might like it but I sure as heck didn't.

GAMEPLAY 5:
Sure it may be innovative and fun at first but that's just it, it's only fun at first. Very innovative though. This game is like nothing else I've ever seen. You collect these little guys that hatch out of a thing called an onion and use them to help fight big monster things while look for parts to your ship. There are 30 parts and you have 27 days (I think). Different colored pikmin have different powers and the such making you have to think for a second (and only a second).

STORY 2:
Very, uh, different story. I'm pretty sure that no other game has used this story. You crashon aplanet that is inhabited by little things called Pikmin that come out of things called onions. You have to find the parts of your ship and the Pikmin help you. That's about it. Intriguing isn't it?
GRAPHICS 4:
The Pikmin are plain looking and have no detail. Just plain 3D barely better then N64 graphics.
REPLAY VALUE 1:
I played through it within the first 3 days of my rent and didn't touch it again after. That's about it...

Pikmin-

The game where you control an alien named Olimar who has crashed his ship (the Dolphin) on a strange planet. He cannot breathe the air and has only 1 month (30 days) to retrieve all 25 essential part to his ship in order to return to his home planet. Your only hope is to rely on the loyal natives that you pull up from the ground.

(note if take out the l and rearrange the letters in Olimar's name it will give you MARIO)
(also note that before the Gamecube had its name it was code named "the dolphin")

PIKMIN is a very good game to get if you have a gamecube, and want a challenging game for a while. The easy to learn controls are perfect for the oddly shaped controller. This game takes a while to master even if you have the player's guide at your right hand. (you should get the guide or play the level over and over until you master each day)You have 30 days to retrieve 30 pieces, but only 25 are need to leave the planet. You should try to get a part or more a day.

The c-stick plays an important role in this game, unlike most Gamecube games. You control the direction of your pikmin with it. That is useful when you want to avoid getting your red or yellow pikmin wet (because they drown fast) and if you want your pikmin to avoid an attack by a holstile creature holding a piece of your ship or trying to get them to attack something or move something (such as a box or a piece to your rocket. Even though you don't control the Pikmin, if feels like you do. That is another one of the great features in this game.

The replay value isn't very good because of only one mini game and no Multi-player. If you want a very hard challenge try to get all 30 pieces in 14 days. It can be done. I have never done it though, because I cannot defeat Emoporer Bulbax with even 100 flower pikmin. (flower pikmin are the strongest; next in line are bud pikmin and you can only carry 100 pikmin at a time) I have 29 of the 30 with 9 days to go, but I cannot get the last non-esential piece Bulbax is carringing inside him.

That is why this got only 4 stars, but it is a game you should check out! Pick up the Player's guide when you get it too! Good Luck!!

people think pikmin is dumb because you walk around in circles alot its not that kind of game if you want a action packed game then you probley may not like this game it is really a stragiey game there is still somewhat action in it there is fighting but you only have thirty days on the game befor that little guys helmet runs out of his planets air and the point of the is to find all the picies of the little guys space ship you may lose alot a pikmin in battles but pikmin do everthing for you so in the game you are the bose of them you tell them what they can do you tell them when to carry things fight things and blow up thing this a diffrent game but it is fun i sugeste you rent it if you are not sure about it or just buy it

This game is sort of fun. Its great when you first buy it, but if you have other games, you start playing them more often after 2-3 days. Also, when you have freinds come over, its embarassing to show them this game ( probably because it sounds like pokemon,which is dumb anyway )I wouldn't reccommend this game to anyone.

This is ok for the first few days, but then it gets way to boring. Always having to make more pikmin, while battling creatures, watching out for your existing pikman, and trying to find a stupid part all at the same time. And, you only have 30 days to find 30 parts. I have trouble finding one a day, much less getting it to the ship. If you love the arcade style Nintendo games, youll love this one. Otherwise, dont waste your money.
