This is my second review after 4 months of play.
I have gone the gammut in game play since then
a. Utter amazement, exhilaration, near marriage ending amounts of gameplay.
b. Frustration with bugs/PvP - still love the game overall
c. dropped off gameplay, some - still play a lot, still love game, impressed with direction the game is going -

My advice is to look at the game again in a few months after Jedi Revamp takes hold, and also after Jump to Lightspeed comes out. If you don't like that - you'll probably never want to play this game. It takes a certain kind of fanatic - either Star Wars or MMORPG - to fully appreciate the wonderful complexity of this game.

Ok, my only gripe is. The lag. So many people play it goes slow. It isnt bad outside of cities. But inside cities, the lag gets VERY annoying.

Sound: 5/5 Always changing music. battle music= classic star wars= calming music= scary music.

Graphics:4/5 The graphics are great. But still, this game requires a 32 vid card. A 64 is recommended. If you are like me and have a 32, your in trouble. it lags, and you cant see peoples faces correctly. But Jedi knight jedi Acadamy has twice the times better graphics and i never have lagged with my 32 graphic card there.

Gameplay: 5/5 the battlemode isnt to great. But the joy is picking a profession. advancing in it. ive only had this game 3 days heheh, but i already love it. People in it are very helpful. Go outside tatooine and chat with the new players. They will team up with you probally. You dont need a super expert player to get a good start. me and 2 other people who had just started met up, and we went on and within first hour, we had went from 50 credits to 10000 credits and completed numerous missions. You must train your skills up to be a master at that skill. You can become a jedi by training in each and every skill for a very long time. Then find one of the 3 remaining jedi and ask them to teach you the jedi profession. however you must have a light saber crystal and you must have every profession and be a master at a hybrid profession.

terrain: 5/5 You have about 10 planets/moons you can go to. each moon has at least 3 cities. Each planet has about 10-20. (im on server Chandris, i think its the best, its not real laggy) IN this game you can start your own city. but you can buy tickets to get to 1 place or you walk to the other city. but god, in real life on the map, Mos espa was like 2 iches away from mos eisly on map. So instead of taking a ship, i took my speeder. after a good 2 hours of driving, i arrived. its amazing how much lnad there is. And you always come upon lakes, homes, sand dunes, creatures, rocks, trees.

Fun: 5/5 You can get addicted in the first hour. My advice as a starting profession would be a brawler. they are tough. Start off with unarmed combat. Then learn marksman, then scout. Then once you got those 3 professions. learn anything you want.

This is a MUST have for all star wars fans. The $ 1 5 . 00 a month fee is worth it. believe me. ID PAY 40 a month if i had to. Well, that said. This game is a must buy.

I've had fun playing this game. I have a nice bit of luck in the mining trade and have joined a band as a master dancer.

This is a great game, my family and I have been playing since 2003 and do not intend on leaving. The community is awesome (240,000+ and growing everday, soon to grow quickly withthe new expansion) and folks work together now more than ever with the recent release othe Combat Update, a complete revamp in the way folks battle.

To top it off, the latest expansion pack, Rage of the Wookies, brings an entire new planet online to explore fight and have fun on, not to mention the addition of new ships. Yes, if you want, you can go in space and fly and do battle against the Empire or Rebellion to your hearts content. When you finish with that, come back down to a planet and contiue the battle there.

Don't want to fight? More of the crafting type? Craft all you want. Hundreds of weapons, vehicles, ships, medicine, houses, factories, clothes in tons of colors and styles. Sell it all in your own business that you set up! There are no limits!

Go out and discover this wonderful game for yourself and see!

I've been playing this game for over a year and am STILL quite satisfied with it. Yes, there are bugs and occassional lag spikes, but no more than any other MMORPG. For Role Players interested in the Star Wars theme, the possibilities are as far as your imagination can take you. The JTLS expansion has certainly improved the opportunities for added adventure and storylines and, again just as any other MMORPG, the regular updates and enhancements to game play really make a positive difference.

The only reason any of you hate this game are because of one of the following reasons

1) It doesn't revolve around a consistent slash em up and blood theme

2) It's two star warsy ( WHAT DID YOU FREAKING EXPECT!)

3) Lag or other problems phsycally with this game: Have you seen the requirements! This is the most defined and technilogically advanced game on the market, if you are running a 32mb video card i don't feel sorry for you. Go play pong, maybe your computer can handle that.

the only reason i gave this game a 4 was because of the many many patches you have to download for the bugs

I have read all the complaints about this game and let me tell you. This game is less than 3 monghts old, give it a chance!! The full potential of SWG hasn't even been seen yet!
For those of you who just plain love MMORPGS this game has been the only one that has kept my interest and I can't wait for all the in game add ons! Bottom line is this game is what you make it. The graphics are incedible. The game play exciting! And just overall enjoyable!
Where else can you go and live in this world and interact in the Star Wars universe?
So far I love this game and I am embarressed to admit I've lost many a weekend playing out.
For me SWG has been a much needed escape from the toils of everyday life. And I have been having a hell of alot of fun playing it.
Isn't that what it's supposed to be about??

I have played this game almost since the beginning. And i have been a Star Wars fan for 31 years now. Never will you have the opportunity to play in the vast world of Star Wars like you will in Galaxies. There are 12 planets and the space around the planets to explore, battle, and have fun.

Whether you like low key exploration, run and gun auction, "Player vs. Player", or linear story line adventures this game has it all. I know some of the early players gave up on the game because SOE changed the combat system. They basically changed it to a shooter from a turn based platform. But it is just as good of a game. The only negative thing that came with the "New Game Enhancements" a couple of years ago was less choices for each player to make. I won't get into details, but after the NGE we players could not make quite as many choices as to what our characters did. But SOE has been reversing some of those changes over the last couple of years and it is getting better and better.

Don't write this game off. The worlds are huge, and character/alien/beast varieties endless. And the gameplay styles are endless. Whatever mood you are in for the day, you will be able to find the correct kind of game play you desire. And come on, its Star Wars! I loved it when it first came out, and i love it still today. If you love Star Wars you will enjoy playing in this world!

SOE makes good games, but they come at a price

SOE is the amazingly greedy company that in their previous game charged you real money (and a lot of it) to get things done. They promise customer service, then start a new game server with "improved customer service" charging 3x the price of normal service, and neglect everyone else.

The kicker of this game is you will only be able to have ONE CHARACTER PER SERVER. On top of limiting you to one character per server, which limits family play, you will have to PAY MORE THAN ANY OTHER MMORPG IN EXISTANCE.

Expect monthly rates to go up, and customer service to go down. When people get sick of the service, they will offer you a better service option, at an increased price. Avoid all the headache and price guaging that will come with this game and wait until World of Warcraft comes out, Blizzard has yet to make a bad game.
