When I got Starwars Galaxies I thought it was a little hard to get used to, that all changed after a few weeks. People might think this is a borring game because you don't just fight bad guys. Sure, you can go on missions and use your weapon, but u can also live a life, (except that it is in a Galaxy far,far away with enchantments, like laser rifles)you can set up shops, live in a house, get married, join a guild, live in a city, and craft. (I can't say all the thing you can do beacuse that will take too long).
In a overall review I think this game is great for all.
This game is being unduly hyped up

I played this game already and can say that it doesn't live up to the hype. Don't expect anything new, or anything that even meets the new standards of gaming. This game is like every other game on the market but dressed up as Star Wars for marketing purposes. It's really boring, the textures aren't impressive at all and the characters are shallow. Playing this game is comparable to being beaten by an old lady.

Had the Beta3 for a month, and, at best, I can say this game is far from release. Fun, 4 stars, as it's hard to explore the high-end part of the game with character wipes (one last week), and not all areas are accessible. When released, it will go through the requisite balancing/nerfing/etc. common to all MMO games.
In short, it'll will launch when it's ready...don't hold your breath.

A lot of the negative things people say about this game are true, but it's important to realize just how much this game does currently offer and how much potential it still has to evolve. There are so many layers of complexity constantly at work in the SWG universe, it just may be the closest thing anyone's yet created to a virtual reality. Contrary to what a lot of the gripers say, a LOT of imagination and intelligence has gone into its design and maintenance, and I credit it with an extremely fulfilling year + of gaming. I have yet to run out of things to do.
COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game looks to be the best on-line RPG game possible.I have seen many rivews on this game. The graphics are great totally 3d.Really you can be any profession you want to be jedi, smugler, bounty hunter and much more.If you decide to be a jedi you can design your own lightsaber. You can hide out on planets or launch raids on enemy bases.without a doubt very cool.
A must buy for any gamer.
Amazing!

Any reviews that say this game is bogus or full of bugs, well, they are partially correct.
Sure Star Wars Galaxies has its fair share of glitches and kinks to work out. Sure there is major lag at times, sure sure sure!
Alas, all the great things in this game completely BLOW this other crap outta the water! This game is fun, mysterious and keeps you enthralled day after day! The thing about SWG is that you can do anything you want! If you master one thing, get bored or its just not for you, well, do something else! It's not like other MMORPGs where you are what you pick (Rogue, Wizard, etc.) yoou can be 3 or 4 different things, AT THE SAME TIME!
Players make everything in the game, all armor, food, weapons, EVERYTHING! You can name it whatever you want, advertise however you want! You can even get your own house with furniture, pets, ridables, vehicles, all sorts of cool things, droids, you name it you can pretty much get it in Galaxies.
As addressing all the bugs and glitches. Don't all games have their share? If you don't like the lag, leave the populated area and traverse the HUGE world, complete with dungeons, creatures, landscapes, and other mysterious things that bring the story to life.
Floating graphics? You can make items float in your house if you want, but it would look tacky, instead of looking at the lowerclass player houses look for those that want to impress. Gun mounts on the wall, inspiring furniture, you're latest fishing catch on the wall above the stairs. Arrange it how you want to.
There are still a few glitches that will bug you, floating monsters, lag, and the occasional Dark Jedi warp-right-over-your-head-so-you-get-killed-right-away type deal.
All those are nothing when you take in mind the kind of friends you have made in this game, the kinds of memories, the kind of fun.
So as a recap, Star Wars Galaxies has a ton to offer! GO! Look at the smooth graphics and other great stuff! There is much to much to mash into your heads about this wonderful game. All I can say is try it for yourself, but my experiance has been wonderful

...You can be a Jedi, and there will be vehicles...there will be no space travel until the new expanstion comes out. Star Wars Galaxies is the best MMORPG game because it is just a better version of UO.It is a skill based system, but many things he said where totaly random.

I've got to hand it to SOE. They were pressured in releasing the "Total Experience" and "Rage of the Wookies" before the release of Episode III. They've had to suffer the thousands of "hate" letters directed in their way, and are still dredging through it all.
SOE had an incomplete Combat Upgrade on their hands, and are making great strides in pulling out a great product. I will admit that there were a lot of bugs and glitches with it, but given the circumstances, they are doing a wonderful job. They do still have a lot of work to do, but so far, I'm 100% satisfied with their progress thusfar.
If you hear anyone complaining about the CU or about SOE, you can rest assured that these people are completely sensless. Everyone was crying for a change to be made about combat in SWG, then along came CU. It is a DRASTIC change from the SWG that anyone had ever played before. Most people that are complaining about it are closed-minded and haven't spent an hour, with eyes wide open, playing this Upgrade. I've had more fun playing since CU than I have in the past 2 years. I also have complete faith that SOE is doing everything in its power to make this complete.
SWG is the best RPG I've ever played

I've played these RPG games so far:
- Star Wars Galaxies
- Ultima Online
- Diablo
- Neverwinter Nights
- Sacred
- others
I think that SWG is the best, because of its unique Star Wars atmosphere.
The average players age of 25 years old guarantees a good role-playing experience and correct and long-term commitments.
Cheers,
Antoan(Master Swordsman).

3 stars should be a neutral rating. I'm only giving this game 3 stars because it hasn't been released yet (i'ts been pushed back so many times that I lost count) and from what I know it won't have all the anounced components like vehicle drivability and all the diferent races. These things won't be available for almost 8 months after release. Sure it sounds like a great idea for an MMORPG but untill it's released we won't know for sure and by the way, aren't BETA testers under a non-discloser contract? If you are a BETA tester and you're posting reviews and details of/about the game (and by the way readers, they are not testing a finished product, this is a BETA which is in no way indicative of the final code), said testers should be aware that they can get in much trouble for this and can even be sued for a good deal of money.
