This game is the best game that has come out on any of the systems including x-box and playstation 2. If fetures 1st and 3rd person perspectives. Full of action and adventure. A game like no other, nothing will ever come close to beating its perfection. BETTER THAN HALO!!!!

Metroid prime is going to be the game of the year, with a frame rate of 60 and a mininum time of about 40 hours its going to be the best game. One of the creators of Halo said it was good, and thats large compliment. If you don't like the new 1st person perspective get metroid fusion for GBA. Nintendo said that metroid fusion is better than the last metroid. Then when you beat fusion hook it up to the game cube and unlock the original metroid on your game cube. If you beat MEtroid prime hook it up to the GBA and you can unlock the fusion suit for metroid prime. Also metroid prime is packed full of special features so when you beat it you can set it a harder difficuty soits more hard. Then if scan a certain amount of objects you unlock a photo gallery. Metroid Prime only uses a surprising 1 block on the memory card. Developed by Retro Studios its garrentied a great game. I hope you get metroid prime/fusion for they a gonna be the best games of the year.

Don't expect this to be the typical first person shooter. Approach the game as that, and you'll be awfully disappointed.
Jumping, targeting, retracking, upgrading, everything has NOTHING to do with a 1st person shooter.
This is Metroid became 1st person. It's unbelievable how designers could make the transition from 3rd to 1st person without changing anything in the game. It's great.
This is, in fact, the best GC game to date, and probably the best game released this year for any platform available. For Metroid fans and all GameCube owners it is a must-have.
And yes, IT IS worth 200 dollars for the console and the game, just to play it.

Smooth and seamless, the game transitions from one stage to the next without a single second of load time at all. The game graphics are without a doubt one of the best to date, with several million polygons used for every character you see... all fully 3d, and moving well above a constant 60 frames a second without any signs of slowdown. It's obvious that the developers put an incredible amount of work into the detail of the environment- easily the most atmospheric of any game i've played, there isn't a single corner that hasn't been intricately hand crafted to perfection. The game play is surprisingly smooth and unlike any first person shooter, but instead plays more along the platform genre where jumps are done easily and the controls are fairly intuitive without much of an emphasis on shooting skills like your typical doom game. Definitely a top notch adventure game that I will continue to be glued to for the next two weeks.

I was skeptical. I grew up on the original Metroid, and while I was impressed with the graphics of the previews I saw, I didn't imagine that it would be as fun and interesting as the original was in its day. And I didn't understand how it could still feel like Metroid if it was mostly first person. Well, it does. After playing it all day today, I can say this is the funnest and most interesting game I have. Nothing in the game seems tedious or boring - something that can't be said for a lot of games. When you play this game, you will realize how flawed most games are in comparison. I wish all games had this much thought and hard work put into them. :) Beautiful.

Metroid fans will be in heaven, and if you are not a Metroid fan, you will be. Even though this game is a First-Person Shooter, Metroid Prime has all the elements from the previous Metroid games and some new features too. You can now scan enemies and switches for weak spots and to unlock doors. There are new weapon upgrades and some classics like the ice beam and grapple beam. The best part is that Samus still rolls up into a ball to drop bombs and navigate through tight areas or tunnels. With the connectivy with Metroid Fusion for GBA you can unlock some very cool features. After you beat Metroid Fusion and connect it to Prime, you can play the original Metroid for NES on the Gamecube.
There are other really cool secrets, but you should find them on your own for the best experince.

Metroid Prime is a must have because of it's wonderful graphics and gameplay. You must buy this game today!

Metroid Prime is an EXTREMELY GOOD GAME. State of the art graphics, ingenuitive game play and a whole new concept to first person shooters make metroid prime one of the greatest games ever. Although the game is very long, the power ups and gameplay are amazing. Upon the game and its sister game Metroid Fusion will enable secret options. The Price has been lowered so the action is now cheaper to acess. Overall Metroid Prime will provide hours of entertainment to everyone at a reduced price.

This is a great game.I would only recodmend this game to more expierienced gamers though.The graphics are unstoppable,i mean they're awsome!The sound is like no other and gameplay is really fun.This is that type of game you want to go to your system and play it all day!Get this game.

Wow! I played the original Metroids for the NES and Gameboy years and years ago. I can't add anything to the other excellent reviews on Metroid Prime other than to say that I agree: this is a fantastic game! However, anyone who says that Game Cube is geared more for "kids" ought to play Metroid Prime. Just about all the bosses were a challenge--even with the Nintendo Player's Guide on hand. The final bosses, in particular the Omega Pirate, Meta Ridley, and Metroid Prime, were a blast to do battle with. It's been over two weeks since I finished the game and my "target" and "trigger" fingers are still sore! This game is worth the time. ...
