I have played Rock Band everyday since I bought it and if anyone had ever told me that my wife would love to play the drums and sing rock music I would have told them they were crazy. We both are in our 50's and I can't believe the joy and fun this game has brought into our home, sometimes it's 1:00AM and we are still rocking away and the drums have really helped with my wife's sore wrist.She does a great deal of her work typeing on the computer and is on the verge of Carpal Tunnel in both wrist and this has really helped.
The music in this game is fantastic and brings back many memories of playing in a band after Highschool and playing songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond.The only thing I can say bad about the game is they don't have a practice mode in the game for the drums where you can just play on your own and the other thing is the number of songs from other big bands such as Van Halen,Eric Clapton,Led Zepplin,Grand Funk Railroad and Deep Purple.I just finished one of the game magazines and read about a patch for the game is going to come out and fix the problems along with more songs from days gone you will be able to earn during the game and also be able to download.My son has Rock Band and GH III and he rates the Rock Band over the GH III which sells more games but most people don't know what they are missing, on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 9.75.

Pros: This is one of the best games I've ever played for any console for all time! As long as you love music (and like at least a few of the songs included in the game), you are SURE to have fun playing this game. The enjoyment is multiplied when playing with a group, so don't be shy to share with your friends!

Cons: There have been reports of some instrument failures, but Harmonix will replace anything that is faulty. One of the biggest concerns is the drum bass pedal can break during play, but this usually only happens when someone is particularly forceful (mine remains intact after many hours of play). However, many third party online solutions exists to reinforce the pedal so you can pound away on it! I would CERTAINLY NOT use the aforementioned issues to detract from purchasing thins game. The instruments are not low quality, I just wanted to point out that some issues have arisen.

I came home to find my husband rocking out, all alone. So I joined him. Then our neighbors knocked on the door, and joined up also. Soon there were so many of us that we were all taking turns. This was just a typical Monday night after work! By the time I kicked everyone out for the night, there was no time to have dinner, fold laundry, or take the poor dog for a walk.

This game is just fun, especially for all those crazies who think they're rockstars when they're alone in the car (like us). However, if you have better things to do, keep in mind that they won't get done. This game is addictive, and the time flies by!

The guitar takes some getting used to... the 'pick' is a bit tougher than the guitar hero guitar. The rectangles are more difficult too, you REALLY have to be perfectly on time. I love creating characters though, giving them makeup and crazy hair.

OK, so as far as Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Grand Theft Auto, etc.... them games are the best.... If you want a non violent, laugh your heads off FAMILY GAME, look no further.....The more wireless equiptment bought, the more expansive the band becomes, and the funner the game gets..............100% satisfied

This Game is incredibly fun, even my wife LOVES it.

I wasn't expecting Rock Band to sweep me off of my feet. I'm a drummer, guitar player, bass player, and singer, so I thought that since I play the real thing, this wouldn't appeal to me. I also wanted a game I could play with my young kids and my wife, and this seemed the best choice out there. So bit the bullet and tossed down $150 for this game, and goodness what a wise decision that was. This game is incredibly fun. I haven't seen my wife smile and get into a game like this since Wii Sports, and this clearly kicks Wii Sports to the curb and back in the fun factor category.

The best thing about this game outside of all of the fun instruments is the fact that the difficulty settings ramp up nicely. For me playing on hard is fun, and for my wife and kids they need to start at easy. The fact that you can play together at your own difficultly level, while obvious, is still something that makes this game special.

To sum it up, this game is a huge hit with me, an avid gamer, with my wife, a person that hates games, my five year old son, and my one and half year old daughter who loves to spin in circles to music.

The only negative I have is that the graphics are sub par. They clearly did a dirty port of the PS2 engine, but the rock dudes are pretty stupid looking to begin with. Luckily, you spend all of your time looking at the fretboard and words scrolling across the screen, which look great. I just hope for rock band 2 they do some serious upgrades to the graphics engine.

Great fun for the whole family, even the tone deaf wife!!
The kids pick it up quicker than the parents, but hey they don't enjoy the 70's rock songs half as much. Sunshine of my Love was always a fave but never thought I'd be Ginger Baker, or Jack Bruce let alone Clapton.

The is a must have. So popular I travelled to the US from Australia to bring it back on the plane. (Amazon doesn't ship yet)Most people here haven't played or seen it yet, but it will be very popular. I can see Rockband dinner parties in 2008 being the rage.

You can't beat this game when it comes to getting people together and jamming. You can be a GH fanboy or you can buy the greatest rhythm game ever made. This game is to music games what COD4 is to FPS. The DLC has sucked for the last month or so...but they have already started to listen to the fans and stepped it up.

Awesome Game...Broken Guitar

This game came with a defective guitar (apparently a VERY common problem) that had to be replaced through the rock band support site. They (EA) express mailed me a new guitar with prepaid return packaging for the broken guitar. This is just a case of a developer (EA) rushing onto the shelves a game purely for Christmas sales that wasn't ready or fully tested with the peripherals. Otherwise, it is the best game ever for families or friends that can play together as a band (especially if you're a fan of the guitar hero games). My 12 year old and 6 year old play it with me and we all love it!

A must buy

This is one of the best games for "in house" multi-player. You and your friends can and will play for hours on this. And, do not worry if you are not good at the beginning. You will get better. I had trouble with songs on Medium on drums. Now, I am about half way through expert. You will get better.
