This game is definatly one of the best GBA games ever made. A stand-alone storyline, (meaning you don't have to play the first game to understand it, but it would be helpful.) different plot, magic, summons, Psynergy, and awsome graphics, you woulden't go wrong buying this to play.
It can be ok

This game is basically fun, unless you beat it. Then you can either do easy, normal, or hard modes. Easy is the levels of the people you beat the game with. Normal is the normal gameplay. Hard is monsters tougher. On hard mode, all the monsters are still as easy. At least until kibombo mountains. After a few fights with the pixies, they get about +100 speed +100 attack and +70% chance that you will fall asleep(already at 29%). So, basically hard is a cheesy way of playing. But I advise if you start a hard level file RAISE RAISE RAISE your levels. Trust me it'll come in handy.(note:I was facing briggs level 10 everyone and he creamed me)Otherwise, this game is pretty koo. I hav 1 beaten file, 1 in the Mars Lighthouse, and 1 in Kibombo Mountains. You'll enjoy this game unless you do hard mode!!!
Another amazing game

The first game was amazing and the sequel is even better. But instead of playing as Isaac this time you play as Felix. In the last game you were trying to stop saturos and menardi lighting the elemental lighthouses. This time you need to light them. In the last game you learned that if all the lighthouses were lit then the world would be destroyed.Felix was helping Saturos and menardi but were his actions really bad. In this game you learned why Felix wants the beacons lit. But if you liked Playing as Isaac then you will be pleased to hear he joins up with you at the Jupiter lighthouse which is about three quaters of the way through. It is longer than the last game and is a lot tougher to finish.
Highly recomended!!!

Golden Sun the Lost Age is, in my opionion, the best game ever created. It is packed full of interesting puzzles, has wonderful music, amazing graphics and a storyline that will keep you playing the whole game through. This game is a gamers dream come true!
Note: Golden Sun the Lost Age will make a little more since if you play the original Golden Sun first but weather you new to the Golden Sun series or not this would still be a wonderful choice.
Good game, but I've played better

Yes, this is a fun game, but there are better! yes, hard to belive but the RPG-Tactic fusion that is Fire emblem is much better. Though this is an amazing game, great music great controls. And this is the has the second most amazing storyline i've seen. One question though? Where's the console game. Put this on a console and i'd even buy any system just to play it
Awesome!

I seriously believe there is not enough good that can be said about these games. They are the prime examples of good gaming, not only for the system, but also as an RPG. No game for the system has been able to surpass them in quality since the release of each, and likely, no game ever will. They're not just good GBA games; they're great video games, period.
There are dozens of aspects of the game that would make a good game cool; but the fact that there are so many, makes these amazing games extraordinary. I tend to prefer real time combat to turn based, but out of all the turn based I've ever played, this is easily the best. Not only is there the progressively interesting psynergy, and not only are there releases from various weapons, and not only are there the djinn, collected over the course of the game, with their own, unique releases, but there are also the spectacular summons and combo summons (introduced in The Lost Age) that can be used with stand-by djinn, which, alone, puts these games ahead by leaps and bounds in terms of graphics, over any other game for the system. And all of these contributions make combat far more strategic and engaging.
My absolute favorite aspect of these games are the dungeons. I've grown tired of the RPG where, upon entering a dungeon, the only difficultly comes from the overly incessant monster attacks and the boss battle which, traditionally, comes at the end. In Golden Sun and The Lost Age, monster attacks are on a more limited basis--meaning they don't get boring fast, like other RPGs. But the real challenge in the dungeons are the complex puzzles, most of which require the use of various psynergy. And the psynergy (magic) system is very intelligently taught to the player as the game progresses, as to recognize when a specific psynergetic power is required. It's the only RPG I've ever played where magic isn't just a convenience; it's a necessity. And while many of the puzzles are hard, they're fun, and all the more satisfying when the solution is achieved. It's one of the few games I've played that required serious thinking on the part of the player, as opposed to mindless, repetitive combat. It's one of the few I've played where I actually looked *forward* to the dungeons--and even some of the boss battles. (My favorite dungeons include all four lighthouses, the Elemental Rocks in The Lost Age, and the Ankohl Ruins, which requires the use of my personal favorite psynergy--sand.)
My only gripes for the game include the fact that I'm a little tired of the standard RPG that's from the point of view of a male protagonist, as well as a minor flaw such as the fact that, when in battle, a character is assigned to attack a monster but the monster is killed before they can attack, the character automatically goes into defense mode, and the turn is wasted.
Overall, I would seriously recommend this to anyone who's ever been an RPG fan, and agree with the statement that it is worth buying a GB soley for Golden Sun and The Lost Age. And while you can start with The Lost Age, I would recommend starting with the first one, simply so that you can appreciate the awe and splendor of both games together.
On the downside, I almost wish I hadn't played these games first. Because now, nothing else I ever play will even compare.
It deserved a sequel?

How did the last one deserve a sequel? granted they never finished the story but who the hell cared? the story was LAME. And in response to people that try to write like "true RPG fans" they aren't this is a VERY simple bare bones RPG veterin RPG players will get bored and lose interest VERY fast in this game the battle system was the only redeaming quality but it couldn't save this train wreck of a game because they wasted so much time talking. holy crap let's sit around in town talking about everything we're gonna do then talk about it while we do it then discuss what happened and the consequences afterwards but also for fun we'll throw in a whole bunch of worthless dialouge that slows the process down so that it takes 3 hours just to say that you did a good job in the last dungeon. just wanted to shut it off at times but I had to play through it with the hopes that the ending would be worth it and it wasn't worst part about the games story was the fact that there weren't any twists the people at nintendo made sure of that through over explaining every step the characters took. so unless you like wasting your time with endless dialouge skip this game.
will be the best

ok before u buy this game buy golden sun cuz it the continuation of the first. in this one you can combine different elemental dijin for even greater summons. The Lost Age will be far more expansive than that of the first game, and players will have the ability to meet and join parties of other characters, with party members coming and going as the story progresses. the graphics are brigther and better that the first and there is even a feature to upload your old data via link cable or passwords. wouldn't u like to know what happened to jenna, felix karadin and sheba. would they reach lumeria? stop wondering and buy this game its greater than the first.
Looking for a good game to buy? you just found it.

If your looking for a game that has great graphics? Golden sun. Looking for a game that has impressive replay value? Golden sun. Trying to get a game with a marvolous spell and fighting system? Golden sun the lost age is brilliant! those other people who said this game is bad please pay them no heed, because this game Rocks!! Although even a perfect game has a flaw or two.#1;flaw. If the charactors where real they would have lost there voice they talked so much. Well thats pretty much it for noticable flaws. One word of caution for in-depth gamers. If you like a HUGE plot this game might be a disapointment.Buy this game!! I implore you not to buy pokemon games. Buy this instead. You won't be disapointed I promise you that.
The best RPG ever made, ''PERIOD'' !

When I first bought this game I thought that this would be another stupid role playing game after the failure of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. But then as soon as I turned on the game boy advance the Music, graphics, complexity, and sheer size just completely blew me away. Even the story was better than I have ever seen on any other RPG. Then they brought out a second one which had the best summons out there. If I had to compare any other games to the two Goldens it would be Final Fantasy #7 and FF 1&2 as well as Fire Emblem. The only problems, toooo much talking ( as with all RPG's ), limitations ( like trying to trip over a fellow villager which is best left to Fable ), you can't attack an enemy that you have selected but died before your guy could attack it, and I have heard of people liking to change the plot but why would you want to because the plot is that good. The advantages: phynergy (magic) is more than attack and you can't beat the game with out it, and the summons are the best in the business.
