This game is hard as hell without the walkthrough. There is very little direction most of the time as to where you are supposed to go, which is great for those who like to explore, and get lost. Also the main characters are pretty much clones of Isaac and company from the first game. Although there are deviant psynergies, and the cards that allow you to change your character class, they are essentially the same. There are significantly more djinn, and you can reach a higher level more quickly than in GS1, or so it seems. You find better items (usually) than the relics that the shops offer. I am about 2/3 of the way thru (a friend told me that) and have played over 20 hrs. but have yet to run into Isaac and company. I've been told about him, and people are looking for him, but so far no joy. Hopefully when I get to the continent where he is, I'll run into that guy. I'm looking forward to it.
Also, the southern continent sucks! There is only one tower, a single djinn, and no towns! What's up with that?
Still, this is an outstanding game for the GBA. Really good graphics for the mini handheld, and the plot is pretty interesting as is the exploration factor. A must-have for any GBA collection.
YOU SHOULD BUY THIS GAME, AND THE FIRST GOLDEN SUN, TOO!

I bought this game a while ago, as soon as I saw it on the shelfs.
If you buy this ggame, you should really buy the first game (also Golden Sun) because it gives you a whole other half to the amazing plot.
Both the games are THE BEST GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAMES I'VE EVER PLAYED!
Graphics are utterly amazing. Music is great - hearing it through earphones adds alot to it as well!
Gameplay is great. The begining of both games is simple, so that you can get an idea of what's going on. The game soon becomes a complex game, challenging and fun. It has great replay value because you can always try to get all the Djinn, elemental creatures, weapons, and summons to get more powerful. Each step is an attempt to get into and solve the lighthouses, and you go through many challenges. (Note: if you REALLY get stuck or just want to make sure you haven't missed anything along the way, look up the game on the internet)
The battle scenes are great, and the summons in particular have AMAZING graphics.
I can't tell you how much fun this is. It's the best game I've ever played, BUY IT!!! MAKE SURE TO GET THE FIRST ONE TOO, TRUST ME THE MONEY IS WELL WORTH IT.
REVIEW: Picks up perfectly from where golden sun ends. Great graphics and music. Engaging plot. Three save files. Visit numerous new areas, including Lemuria. Great of replay value.
cons: you can't go to the place you went to in golden sun at all. (note: you can still get the djinn.)
IT GOES BEYOND A STAR RATING... 10/5 stars+ !!!!
I'm serious ... this game is a must have for an adventure game lover, or a great way to introduce someone to GameBoy Advance! :)

i thought a sequel to golden sun would spoil it - they'd never be able to make anything like golden sun again, that game was just incredible
I was wrong - this game is even better than the first
this isnt just some lame sequel where they kill the whole thing - hang on it wasn't exacly a sequel was it... well anyway
the storyline is elaborated on a lot, and takes so many different turns in here, and the ending totally owns all.
This had to be the best storyline i ever seen, in a game, movie novel or whatever...
anyone who dissed this game, youre pretty much dissing my religion! well maybe not quite but still.... ok nevermind
the musics good, the gameplay is fun, graphics are very nice - but the story of this game is just amazing
everyone should play it, it is THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!
Another point of view.

In the last game, you were left off sailing in Babi's boat after the lighting of Venus lighthouse, and the death of the fusion dragon. Your role in the last game was to prevent the lighthouses from being lit, for fear of world destruction. You find in this game however, you must light those same lighthouses for that very same reason. The switching of roles was a great idea for this rpg series.
In this game you take up the role of the former 'enemy' Felix. You travel the world trying to do the very thing you were trying to prevent in this game's predecessor. The swap in characters is hard to get used to at first, but is a nice twist in the game's already intricate plot. And even tho you are not Isaac any more, you do meet up with him later in the game. (he TALKS!!)
You can start the game as if you've never played before, or you have the option of transferring your data via code. I'll tell you, typing in that horribly long code is harder and more frustrating than ANY cave, monster or boss in the entire game!!! The upside is that you can remain at the same level you were at when you ended the game. Plus you'll have a ridiculous amount of money, items, and dijinni--and that's always good!
The story of the first game was indescribably magnificent, but as you learn the other side, it gets even better. Through the entire game your filled with the wonder of this really awesome world, and in the end your left craving more. And did you ever wonder why the game is called 'golden sun'? Well, you find out in this game, but it leads you to believe there will be a new game in the near future featuring Isaac as the main character. (yay!) Buy hey, ya never know!
All the original glamour and charm is left perfectly intact in this game. Unlike most game sequels out there, you find that this one actually improves on the original instead of ruining it. This is probably the best sequel I've played since LUNAR 2, and that was one GREAT game!! And as for as rpgs go, this one is definitely a classic in the making. The brilliance and beauty that you witness in this game is a rare occurrence, and you won't find any other games like it, certainly not on game boy advance.
This game provides you with the wonderful opportunity to break away form the boring reality of everyday life. No school, no homework, just some monster killing fun!! With the beautiful graphics and backgrounds, and the amazing story, golden sun is an excellent game!
best gamebot advance game iv ever played

this game was so fun i beat it 3-4 times... its very hard to beat complete, even if you are a master stratagy player, because it never gets boring, yeah.. you might get stuck sometimes and wanna plan on what you could do, but if u think and use common sence.... its easy. this game also has really good graphics, and awsome gameplay... the fight seens are great, the game never has a glitch, and it is still fun after you beat it, because there are some more missions after the game is done, and still, yet even more fun puzzles are IN the game, like "treasure island" and diffrent caves and adventures.
I would strongly recomend this game to anyone willing to play one of the best games on the gameboy advance system.
Best game i've ever played

Well,it finally came out. Golden Sun 2 for GBA.The games graphics are much better than the old one, and the # of monster battles inside places like caves has gone down to just the right out amount. If you beat the first GS and saved your clear data, this is where it comes in handy. You can use a password or link up both games to transfer a powered up party to your GS2. As soon as the game boy adapter for gamecube comes out, people will be buying this and that so they can play on the big screen. So if you like role playing games, and love golden sun, you should buy now!

This is THE Rpg to get for gba. The puzzles are awesome, mind-boggling at times (I had to look online multiple times for solving the puzzles). The combat system, though simple, is flashy and entertaining, and random battles aren't too bad as they are usually very quick. But I am not as big a fan of the story. It's a bit confusing and you don't see where GS is going (Some of the bosses have little to do with the story). Also, at least graphics wise, this game really is just the same as GS:1. BUT if you liked GS:1, which I did, you will love GS:lost age, as the locales and storyline, though confusing at times, are relatively entertaining. This is probably my favorite game of all the GBA games. BUY IT!!!
