The best tennis game ever made!

Words cannot describe how fun this game really is. Even if your not a tennis fan you will surely enjoy this for a very long time. The graphics are amazingly real as most sports games for Dreamcast are. The real fun is the doubles competition where up to four people can play at the same time. My only disapointment was that the top stars like Agassi and Sampras were not on the game, and no ladies either. But oh well, this game is so fun that it doesn't matter in the least. Enjoy tennis fans!

I have never watched a single tennis match on TV and barely know the rules, but when I picked up Virtua Tennis I became a instant fan. This game is another great sport title put out by Sega. This is meant to be a arcade game not a sim so put aside all your complaints of how you can't chose exactly what kind of hit you do, it's all fun! I haven't played such a great multi player game before. I can play this with my younger sister or even my Dad, and you can become a good tennis player quick. The multi is great but what makes this game a winner is the world tour mode in which you travel to diffr. arenas around the globe and compete for money. The money is then used to buy secret players and stages. The mini-games are a great addition too, ranging from knocking over bowling pins off a serve to lob tennis balls into buckets. This is a great game to get even if you are not a fan. It is a easy game to get right into, so you can be a pro. A definite winner. Game, Set, And Match!

Excellent Graphics, Sound, and Most Importantly Gameplay

With many of the new generation games it seems that beautiful graphics get in the way of the gameplay- but not in this one. Playing Virtu Tennis is akin to playing table tennis with a skilled friend. Deciding shot location, speed, spin, etc to try and get your opponent off balance or out of position is all there. This is a very worth while title to have in your collection.

In Virtua Tennis you will be transformed to a new level of game play. In my opinion this game is one of the best games to hit the dreamcast so far. Virtua does everything right. The graphics are awesome and each tennis court (there are over 10 of them that you can play on) is modeled at every detail. One drawback however is that you can not play as some of the more well known tennis superstars like Pete Sampras, Andrei Agassi, etc. A very good feature of this game is the ability to unlock different courts and different players in WORLD CERCUIT MODE. The sound is good except there could have been more variety of music. All in all this game is worth the money. Go ahead right over to the store or buy it from Amazon.com . Trust me, you will not be disapointed by this amazing game.

Being a huge tennis fan, any game with the word "tennis" in it is a must buy for me. Unfortunately, I usually am highly dissapointed by the graphics and gameplay of the games. After thinking that there is no such thing as a good tennis game out there, I was proven wrong by Sega's Virtua Tennis.

The graphics are wonderful, and it's obvious that someone took a long time just researching the players. The details are what make all the difference. One such example is the little cinematics after a point. If you play as Pioline and you lose a very easy point, Pioline is shown obviously flustered and screaming. This is very true because Pioline is a pusher. But on the other hand, if the same situation is had by Henman, he doesn't yell or make a scene, just like real life.

It also seems that many people are upset that the tennis "superstars" aren't included in the game. That doesn't bother me as much as the fact that during any given point, your player could be standing right in position the slam a winner down the line, and then suddenly your player swimgs and misses the ball, even though you pushed the button at the right time. This problem really bothers me, but even that doesn't stop me from being addicted to this game.

Overall, I must say that I love this game, and anyone who enjoys a good RPG will love it. I can't WAIT for 2K2 to come out!

Words cant explain the quality of this game....

This is a quick review. If you need details, check some of the other reviews.

A truly fantastic game and simulation. Easy to play, hard to master (against the computer players as you advance thru ranks). We have had it a few weeks now and it only gets better. I am the Dad, and my daughter (9) and son (7) and I can't seem to get enough. This is what all Dreamcast sports simulations should be like. DON'T MISS THIS ONE!
