A good game makes you want to come back to it. Drake is as fun as it gets. If you buy a game in the next few weeks do yourself a favor and make it this game!

Uncharted is a fantastic game, and definitely showcases the power and graphical prowess of the PS3.

Amazing presenntation, visuals an audio, combined with an interesting story and excellent and exciting game play mechanics.

The "Gears of War" style gun-fighting sections are especially excellent; requiring skill while being nerve racking and enjoyable at the same time.

In summary, this is as close as you'll ever come to being Indiana Jones.
If you own a PS3, this is a must have game...

Best game of the year!

Rarely am I moved to review anything, but after completing this game (with the entire family caught up in the drama & watching) I felt I owed it to fellow gamers. The action is relentless and the storyline compelling. There's plenty of twists & turns. The gameplay is awesome. It's "National Treasure" meets "Pirates of the Carribean". My one small complaint is that I wish it was released in 1080p instead of just 720p. At a time when we're all plunking down $59.99 for games worth half that much, you owe it to yourself to spend your next 60 bucks on this game!

a solid cinematic adventure platformer

I recently completed Drake's Fortune, finishing it within a week over about 9 hours. The gameplay is highly intuitive and easy to pick-up. The jungle and tomb settings are eye-catching and make good use of the HD format. The platforming parts are fairly easy and require little, if any, repetition. Aside from getting lost for awhile in the monastery portion about 3/4 thru, the flow of the game went very smoothly. The cinematic cut scenes are excellent. The combat system works well, allowing you the option of gunfighting or melee in most instances. However probably the only detractor in the game for me was the over-dependence on combat over platforming and puzzle-solving to provide gameplay. You kill hoardes of pirates and mercenaries in the course of the game, almost like you're playing a first-person shooter (Black meets Tomb Raider?). Overall, I recommend this as a very good PS3 offering with several solid elements: platforming, cinematics, and combat.

THIS is why you bought a PS3!

I've had a PS3 for a few months and was dejected to say the least about how little it has to offer so far. Uncharted has been the game to finally show what this system can do, and much more important, what quality Naughty Dog is capable of. Much of the in game graphics equal top PS2 cutscenes. Sound is great with fitting music, realistic gunfire and blasts, and most of all, the best voice acting and dialogue I've heard in 25 years of gaming. You'll care about the characters and laugh numerous times at their one liners. There's even a VERY realistic ear ringing sound if a blast is close to you. Only control issues were rolling & taking cover being mapped to the same button, and it's hard to pick things up sometimes. Nothing that really hurt it though. No health packs, instead you take cover and buy time to recover. Aiming is well done, with both manual targeting & 'blind fire' which is less accurate but works in a pinch. Nothing bad to say about this game. An absolute must own.

I think this game is great! I love how the different gameplay styles (although all of them are lifted from other great games) are blended together seamlessly. One second your hanging from a cliff, the next your in a firefight until you realize your running low bullets. You decide to conserve your ammo and duck and dodge behind cover until your close enough to engage in hand to hand. within seconds, you give him a two piece and a biscuit and he's out cold. Incidents like this happen all throughout the game which really make the game stand out as an experience. Then when you throw in the gorgeous graphics and you've got a real stunner on your hands. Buy it now!!!

This is the one that the PS3 owners can brag about. Has some of the best graphics you've ever seen, incredible story with voice acting that is top-notch, and great gameplay and unlockables too. Why not buy it?
I find that I am constantly playing it for the awesome rewards, and the great idea of having a chapter select. BUY THIS GAME, do yourself a favor, games like these are rare, and you really must experience it.

This is a post I made on the PS3 forums. I'll use it as my review.

Well it's 5:50 in the morning here and I'm watching the credits roll on this gem. I couldn't put it down, I really couldn't. I borrowed it this evening from my brother and I beat it on hard in 1 sitting. I can't believe this game, everything about it is AAA! The musical score, the voice acting, the animation, atmosphere, graphics, shading, the story, characters, humor I could go on and on. This is a masterpiece. I'm hoping this unlocks the ultra hard because I want to give it a shot. I hardly hardly ever replay a game but this was wayyyy to good of a game to only play once. I'd like to find all the treasures too! I only found 24 of the 60. Anyways I'm tired, I want to play more and I'm listening to the ending credits music. Too bad games can't win Oscars. I laughed I cryed..it was one long movie experience and I loved every freaking minute of it. I think it took me about 8 hours or so to beat it first time through. *sigh* guess I'd better get some rest. Anyways. If you haven't played this game, don't make a mistake like I did and wait. go rent it, go buy it YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Edit: It actually took me 9 hours and 33 minutes collected 24 treasures and earned 460 Medal Points.

Fantastic game from an amazing game developer studio

Naughty Dog, most famous for the ever popular Playstation series Jak and Daxter, has done it again with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Although the characters and story are a step away from the lovable Jak/Daxter, many of the key game elements that made that series so successful are still present in Uncharted.

Pros: One of the most beautiful games I've ever seen; Cinematic feel gives the game a feel unlike most any other game today; Gears-of-War-like-Cover-based combat works well; Enemy AI is good

Cons: Some of the platforming can be rather awkward; Camera angles can be a nuisance at times (very few though); Most puzzles are not very deep and usually require simply looking at the journal for the exact answer

Overall, this game is a fantastic adventure that really takes advantage of the PS3's power. Although a few minor negatives will at times frustrate you, you really can't go wrong with a title like this. If you own a PS3, this game should be one of the reasons why!

Is There More In the Kitchen?

I am an older female video game player. Actually, I don't tell too many people about my game-playing hobby. But, I suspect that there are many of us senior game players enjoying ourselves in secret.

I hope Uncharted will continue with more adventures. I enjoyed every minute. It is challenging, but not so challenging that it becomes frustrating. Good graphics. Good characterization and acting. Not too violent and no sleaze.

I believe that there is a market for games that appeal to the growing senior generation. I would love games of mystery, or more adventure games like Uncharted.

I do not like the violent and/or sleazy games. I played the first Prince of Persia for PS2 and enjoyed it very much. The 2nd game has too much sleaze and violence. Why is that necessary?

Okay, I will get off my soapbox and just say...Uncharted is a great game!
