I just finished up this game. Yes, it is short in that it only took about 25 hours of game play but it was about as fun as any game I've ever played. Playing this game is like being part of a movie. The visuals are fantastic and although you are pretty much forced down a certain path it doesn't feel any thing like the old games where you had to pick a right move and all others were wrong. This is a game that anyone can play and enjoy. Yes, there is a little too much gun fighting but that is easy to forgive since there is so much else to enjoy in this game.

I'm going to keep this short and just say that this game is loads of fun to play. It's not extremely long, which suits me just fine. The storyline is great and so is the game play. The controls are easy to learn and not complicated at all. It was exactly what I was looking for in a game.
Can't remember the last time a game was this fun, start to finish!

I sat on the fence for a long time regarding whether or not to purchase a PS3, but after picking up this game along with my PS3, I can see the reports of poor exclusive game quality were exaggerated. Or, at the very least, they must have missed this exclusive gem.
Uncharted is simply one of the crispest, most enjoyable action adventure games I've ever played. With an engaging story, amazing graphics, and brisk, consistent gameplay, this game is everything I wished the tomb raider series could have been. Granted, the game may receive few marks for originality (though in a world of sequels, what games really do?), yet the story is carried along with pitch perfect twists and turns that keeps the gamer engaged straight through to the climax.
Every gamer with even the slightest interest in the action-adventure genre should pick up this game. It's one of the best next-generation gaming experiences out there.
A nice change...

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed games like Quake, Doom, Unreal, etc... but I like how "Drake's Fortune" gives you a whole new setting... island, ruins, etc. I'd find myself just checking out the scenery on a few of the levels. Also, the whole "space marine on steroids" of other games gets played out too. I like how Drake is more your "Indiana Jones"-type hero. Again, not saying that those types of games don't have their appeal... but I personally really enjoyed Drake's for both the story and gameplay. I'm really glad I bought it. I've played it twice in a row now. Second time on the harder setting.
Beautiful Game

If you ever wanted a perfect mix between Pitfall and Indiana Jones, this is it. The graphics are beautiful in every area and the targeting/cover system is the best I've seen in a shooter game. You have to make critical decisions about what types of weapon to carry all the while keeping an eye on your ammo. There will be times when you are out of bullets yet there are still enemies after you. Should you run away or try to quickly grab a loaded magazine from a guy you shot dead?? Very hard to think of a reason to give this less than 5 stars. Fun, exciting, nerve racking, strategic, and beautiful all at once.
Great Video Game and one of my favorites

I finished this game yesterday and let me give you my opinions and suggestions. First is, buy it if you are a true fan of adventure-treasure kind of games. Rent it first, and you will see like me that you love the game, but it is a one-time once in a while kind of game. Meaning: It's like a good movie.
The game is great, I like the story, there are scary parts, and some parts where you will try a few times before you are able to keep going. How hard is it? Not that much if you keep trying. If you keep track of what people say or follow up your main targets, then you will know where to go. Otherwise, you will be lost.
My most interesting poing about the game is that it had a scene that scared me the most and it was very well done. A little spoiler? The scene will happen when you are next to your enemy, and you actually have to fight with him against someone or something. Anyways, about the treasure, can't tell you because the treasure could be so many things, but I tell you now, is somehow gold related.
Now one of the things I like the most about this game, is the scenery, and how the adventure keeps going and going. The storyline is simple. Drake will follow his ancestor's guide or journal to get to El DORADO, a never found treasure. Drake goes to the Amazon South America, between Brazil and Peru, and goes through jungle, rivers, islands and the andes. The most interesting fact about this game is that it is historically accurate and the treasures you find exist in real life. Also, in gameplay you get to drive cars, waterbikes, jump across buildings, swing like Tarzan, use 8 different shooting weapons and grenades. You also use the hide and shoot technique used in Gears of War. Relating to health, you do not need to get something to replenish your health, you only need 10 seconds of free attacks to recover if you are badly injured, mostly, if you get shot 5 times in a row. Sometimes the L2 button will appear in the screen letting you know that if you press it, you will be able to see a hint. Of course in just 1 scene there are a significant amount of ways you could follow, so that is helpful.
The game has very realistic backgrounds and sounds. This game becomes a 10 to 15 minute third person shooter and does not let go until you kill everyone. You can dodge, jump and hang on to every ledge you see. Also, you have to be quick using your handgun. When you run out of ammo, the only way to find more, is by taking ammo from people you kill. Finally, some cons for me: length and characters. Maybe just four or five more hours of gameplay and this would have been game of the year. Some of the characters are laughable, voices are good, dialogue is pretty decent. I would have hoped for some bosses once in a while, like a soldier that differs from the others, uses a knife or a chainsaw or something, and gives Drake a real beating.
That's my opinion, 9.2 kind of game.
Move over Tomb Raider, Drake is in town!

Perfect game for a mature gamer. The puzzles were intricate but not overwhelming, offering hints when you get stuck. The scenery was luscious, even gorgeous at times. From dizzying heights, to silky rivers, to nightmarish depths, this game covered it all. It had just the right level of difficulty (in EASY mode LOL) to make it enjoyable for previous generation gamers like me. My wife actually sat and watched me play for hours at a time, saying she felt like it was like watching a movie.
I believe what sets this game apart is the minute attention to detail, especially in the characters of Drake and Elena. Inserting the wrong key in the door, bumping his head on a ledge, lamenting to himself over one more firefight, or getting a cigarette flicked at him while eavesdropping on the baddies, those minutia made the game for me - you could tell the designers loved what they did, crafting and weaving the tale together into a cohesive whole. My only laments are 1) it's too short...well not really short, just that once it's over you're left wanting more. Drake's Adventure II anyone? 2) The drawn out firefights (I prefer a heavier mix of puzzles to shooting, otherwise I'd play COD4 or RSV2 or something of that nature). 3) I wasn't too fond of the goblins or whatever those things were towards the end (I'm rather conservative), but overall I'd rank this game 9 out of 10 and will definitely purchase the sequel once/if available.

I was skeptical on trying out this game BUT I was completely blown away by the awesome graphics and the story line. I got this as a gift and the gift couldn't have been better :). I'm already playing this game twice and hoping that a sequel would come along soon. HIGHLY recommended !
