A game ahead of it's time

This game is by all means one of the best on the Playstation 2 console! The first Ratchet and Clank became one of my favorite games ever,and Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando was even better.

Hard to believe that Insomniac equipped this game with even more weapons and more features than the first one,considering the first one was pretty maxed-out with goodies to begin with.

In the sequel,Ratchet and Clank are in the midst of a "hero-drought" after defeating Chairman Drek. However,Ratchet gets a call from Mr.Abercrombie Fizzwidget,CEO of Megacorp,telling him that Megacorp's newest experiment,the Proto Pet,has gone missing. Ratchet and Clank set out to get it back,and discover some surprises along the way.

The cinema sequences are hilarious. This game is truly a gem in it's own right. A very good game overall.

This is the best game ever. I've beaten it two times and I'm still playing it. It is just so fun. Its weapons are so cool, especially the sheepinator. And gadgets. Wow, and I heard they might make a third one. The first game was great too. But this one beats it by a mile. So if "Going Commando" is that much better than the first, the third one will just blow you away.

This game is totally awesome: You have tons of guns and ammo, excellent missions,tons of enemies to kill, and you can find, buy, and upgrade your weapons with the money you get from fallen enemies and boxes you find. This is the best platform/action,adventure game there is. I usually HATE platform games, but I love this one! Oh, if you are a parent who likes good games, here's some news. This is only rated "T" for mild violence, which is because of the guns you use to kill only enemies, not civilians or good people. This is also rated "T" because maybe you kill enemies, but overall this is a great game parents and kids!

wow i love rachet and clank going commando. this games got it all its an action filled platformer i really cannot complain about. the weapons are really cool way better than the first and they can all be upgraded. and theres some heavy hitter guns like the heavy lancer the blitz gun and the best of the est the ryno 2. of course these bad boys cost a heavy dough but there worth every penny or should i say bolt since thats what youre collecting. i also love the bouncer which shoots bombs. youll also have the abilitie to straife which means youll be able to aviod an attack by a monster. youll get health points and strength increases as well. and theres plenty of cool additions like hoverbike races. rachet can buy armor and even youre rocket is completely customizable and can be upgraded. rachet and clank going commando is definitely a one of the best platformers currently avilable.and should definitely be played by someone who enjoyed the first or someone whos enjoyed a platformer in recent history.

rachet and clank going commando is insomniacs best game in my opinion. and thats a bold statement consedering the greatness of the spyro games and the first rachet and clank. but this is decked out with it all and i do mean that. just like the first youll run trough levels in a quick pace in a somewhat linear fashion busting open boxes to gather bolts. the currency of rachet and clank games. when youve collected a very big margin of bolts and i mean BIG they can be used to collect some really cool weapons and gagets. the simple cartoony style weapons are buffed out big time here. rachet can choose from a vareity of incredible more adult tough weapons which make the others look weak. like the lancer- deadly automatic rifal the blitz gun- an enormus high powered hand gun. and the gun that was too good to be shown in the first game the incredible ryno 2- an enormus blaster gun equipped with several paralell bullet holes. this gun is used to dicept your enemys litteraly. all the weapons and gagets are used to help you on your adventure and can all be upgraded. going commando may be much like the first but it also strives to fix everything that was a problem in the first game. in the first there was not much to do so they added minigames puzzles competitions and battle arenas. also as soon as you get to the vending machine. you dont have to figet to get the ammo to go all the way to the top. as it is automaticly set there when you visit. rachets personality is much better and there are more extras like hoverbike races and youll consistently see some intresting cut scenes involving the plot of the game. in addition to the weapon upgrades rachet gets stronger and healtheir as he fights off bad guys which by the way arent one hitters anymore. in addition to that theres even extras where clank will jump into the mix as their are consetintly robot battles and stuff involving him. the controllers are more itteligint tending to be more responsive compared to the first rachet and clank game. the music is exceptional and the graphics are simply overwhelming. i mean play it trough and youll will notice this has the best graphics of probally any game youve ever played. the graphics are wonderfully detailed the eyepopping lovingly scenery in the background will just about have your body doing mental somersaults. overall going commando is a fun loaded one of a kind expereince with a juicy spread of hours to be sunk into it. the game on average would take about 18 very decent hours to completely lock everything and thats if youre a good player which im not. this is a fun entertaining exremely playable good seqeul to the first and you wont be dissaponited. this fantastic game should definitely warrent a space on your shopping list if youre any kind of playstation 2 gamer.

This adventure game is fantasic with 20 different planets/moons to explore. The game is great in the sense that you can race hover bikes, fight gigantic robots one on one with clank, fight off entire fleets of ships, and wut i think is best u get to cousomize your space craft with over 15 different upgrades. from special wings, to shields, to different types of weapons including nukes, well overall its one of the best games i have played and it kinda sucks u in. Once you start playin u dont want to put the controller down. believe me ive beaten it twice.

Yeah, yeah - my title may be a bit of hyperbole but this series has been so consistently enjoyable that I must give it highest marks. I have played the first three games in the franchise and they have evolved perfectly. Strangely enough, I played them out of order, starting with 3 but quickly buying the first two because I was confident that they would satisfy. Each iteration improved significantly, with this game allowing smarter weapons and gadget interfaces than the first game, like allowing a pause during weapons selection or automatic gadget selection when you come to locked doors. Also, you can destroy more of your environment than in #1, an aspect of this game that is so pleasing when you just want to blow things up. One defect is how stingy the game is with bolts (the monetary unit), so that it takes FOREVER to buy the pricier items (I tried saving and saving to get the top-rank armor and never got it in my first go through). Luckily, you are allowed to keep your weapons through repeated runs through the game and you can keep upgrading weapons and armor until you get everything so replayability is high (but things get a little stale if you replay directly after a win - save it for later).

This game is a classic platformer and #3 is even better. Want to blow stuff up in satisfying (and sometimes humorous) ways? This is the game for you. Still waiting to buy the later ones...

unfortunately I was sold the '' greatest hits'' version of the game , which was really not what I wanted . The ad for the product clearly shows the original version playable with my code breaker . Needless to say that I am disappointed after wasting my money for an item , especially since I already own the ''greatest hits'' version

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando is an excellent follow up to the superb platformer Ratchet & Clank. The storyline is similar to the first game and basically involves the protagonists, (R&C you guessed it) journey as the attempt to rid the galaxy of an evil threat. The game features exciting fast paced combat, with quite a variety of guns at your disposal. There are also a variety of subquests in which you participate in activities such as bike racing, spaceship dogfighting, and manning a turret, to name a few. In addition to having more weapons than the original R&C, in this installation your weapons gain experienced when used, and eventually level up. Leveling up trnasforms the weapon in a positive way, making it more powerful and in some cases adds another functionality. Another improvement from the first game is the ability to strafe, allowing more in-depth control during situations where there can be tons of objects to dodge The difficulty of this game is just about right, and the sound and environment are incredibly well done. My only complaints are that the gameplay is slightly repetitive and, this ties into the second complaint, if you want to completely beat this game and get every weapon fully upgraded, you're going to have to do a lot of repetitive gameplay to acquire the necessary amount of bolts to purchase all the weapons. Overall, 9.1 out of 10, I strongly recommend this title to a newcomer or follower of the series, or anyone looking for a solid 20ish hour action adventure game.

Quirky humor tossed in with a steady stream of baddies to beat, burn and otherwise creatively defeat? That's my kind of game! The game presents a nice mix of genres, having racing, platform jumping and puzzle solving at different points of the story line.

The areas flow pretty smoothly, though I ran into a few that seemed darn near impossible to complete. With a good deal of persistence and lot of running around gathering bolts to upgrade the armor those areas get a lot easier to handle. Frame rate drops for no apparent reason on some planets. It was noticable but didn't really take away from game play.

I have the first three in this series. They're all fun and have replay value. You want to make sure you get all of the platinum bolts, upgrade all of the weapons and unlock all of the secrets!
