pretty much a rehash of the previous game -- not enough to do, not visually stimulating, and not all that impressive.

If the question comes up between these two as to which to buy...Well, ratchet was okay but not worth the hype. It just didn't have any originality to the game. the design was okay, graphics mediocre, gameplay good but just average. there wasn't anything really original in this game. i liked the first...but...rent it.
Stop with all this violence please...

This game lacks creativity. All it is is a shoot em up violent game. I am tired of all the platform games that are coming out that just use violence as their main form of entertainment. I guess that's where we are headed. Having two kids who are highly into video games, I will not buy this one for them.
Not the best sequal out there.

This game is not a game for kids under 14 to say the least. It is way too too violent. The gameplay is okay, graphics are good, replayability non existent. Okay game but not great. See Jak 2.

This game is OK exept for the first person mode that makes the whole game fall apart! You can skip right to bosses and climb to the top of buildings and get stuck!!!! You can walk on air on hundreds of occasisions, and this is in every stinkin level!
I guess they didn't really care or else they were cheap. I would rent first
Pretty and funny, but that's about it...

Many people may disagree with me on this, but this game just isn't very fun. THe graphics are wonderful, and when you play the first few missions, you feel as though this is one of the greatest games ever. Then that feeling comes to a screeching halt when you buy your first armor. If it weren't for the friggin' armor in this game, I definately would have given this a five. From one point on, you have to continuously buy armor in order to make it through a certain few levels, because if you don't you're screwed. The last armor is a million bolts. A MILLION BOLTS. To raise that grit I had to beat one level ten times, and seeing as how the level was huge, that got extremely boring. In order to raise money for this without doing what I did, you would have to spend nearly nothing throughout the game, which is hard seeing as how it is necessary to spend up to 10,000 bolts in order to gain one little bit of info from some cheap citizen. I am a big Jak and Daxter fan, and I'm used to big environments where you can choose how to approach the situation. Not so in this game. There is one and only one way to get to a certain point, and the environment just goes in one big circle. However if you were a fan of the first R&C and you can't help but waste more money on crap like this, go ahead. I won't stop you.
Dont get the Hipe

When the first Ratchet and Clank came out I was totally blown away. The engaging characters, the addictive gameplay, the imaginative settings, the amazing graphics. It was as though a whole new universe of fun had been created.
This game repeats the glories of the first R&C, and then some. Another big corporation has threatened to take control of everything, so it's up to our two heroes to make their way through a whole universe of planets. There's so much to see and do, so many sub-games and atmospheric worlds to explore. Add to that a whole load of dramatic tunes and hilarious cartoon sequences and you have one of the greatest platform games ever made.
No gammer, but I like entertainment...

I thought the first "Ratchet and Clank" game was great! I'm not an intense "gamer" and I only like games that are challenging and fun... not frustrating! I don't like "dying" six to ten times before beating a boss and I don't like spending all my money (bolts) on weapons (and ammo) to beat these bosses... it's just not fun... and to get the "big" weapons you need lots of bolts which means that even though it seems your getting a lot you need these to get through the game; leaving the big "potentially fun" weapons until after you've beat the game and played it over several times. This game is much more difficult than the first and at times I found myself wondering what to do or where to go until I figure something very easy out over a couple of hours... in another words.. .there is no direction. The story is very weak and the graphics aren't as great as the first. In fact, most of the worlds seem like they were taken from the first game. Disappointing would be a great way to describe this game but better would be "frustrating" which equals challenging minus the fun! This is one for the Gameshark.
