Realistic Action

This game is a vast improvement over the first game in the series. This game provides a very good weather system and I like the effects. The improvements to the troops with the British and the new German forces is pretty good. It look like you are looking at a movie instead of a PC game. I think anyone into World War II conflict actions will really enjoy this game. I hope there is follow up games like the Russian front and the war in the Pacific.

Not an average RTS

OK, let me start by saying that I have read certain reviews about diversion among different units in this game being bad. This is the whole reason I love this game. In almost every other RTS game each player has the same goals, build up certain units and grab the choke points on the map. In COH not every strategy works so you are constantly looking for ways to counter your opponents.
There are not many flaws in the game play; however multiplayer does require all players to have a good setup on their computer, as with all games. I don't have a duel core or a high end video card on my laptop (I travel a lot), but I can run the game on high settings with 2 gigs of RAM and Windows Vista. If you do experience lag in game play I recommend adjusting the sound settings, this can help out in some situations.

Great game, needs patches out of the box.

I was a big fan of the original company of heroes. This one adds a lot of new gameplay and different units and strategies. Unfortunately, you'll need to download at least 2 very large (100+ MB) patches before you're able to play.

If you've never played CoH before, and you're a fan of RTS games, then you'll definitely enjoy this one. Units are squad-based and have a bit of intelligence to them. There is an innovative cover system, and infantry units automatically move to cover (basically). Throw in tanks, air strikes, artillary, snipers and all sorts of weapon emplacements and you've got quite a bit of fun on your hands. Sounds are excellent, and this game adds a lot of new unit dialog over the original. Highly recommend.

Like a chess game...with explosions and swearing!

This is by far my favorite game on the market today. THQ has outdone themselves again by adding the British and (FINALLY) the German forces to do battle in what feels like a tactical chess game. The game has an eb and flo much like real combat and a gameplay feel that is much smarter than Blitzkrieg and Sudden Strike RTS games. The graphics are outstanding and dynamic. The sounds give the game a real combat feel, especially the explosions. My favorite part however is what the units say when selected or perhaps over selected (they tend to get upset....he he). If you are buying the game you will have to spend some time downloading patches, but it is worth it. Once you can play online against other human players it will give you a completely different experience. The regular game is very entertaining, but the skirmish and online games a fun forever. This is a game that will not get thrown on the shelf when the story part is complete. Whats next for Company of Heroes?????.....Hopefully a eastern front version, with the Soviet army? Buy this game, it has hours and hours of fun and entertainment.

This is a great game just like the first one. WAY BETTER THAN C&C TIBERIUM WARS !!!! This game actually takes strategy to play unlike the cnc games where you can just sit back build up forces and steam roll your Opponent. If you like the first one I'd get this one. Also this is a stand alone game you do not need the original one to play opposing fronts. If you have the first one you can combine it with opposing fronts. The only downside I can think of is the matches do get a bit long at times but on skirmish single player you can save at any time or on the campaign.

Great Game, sometimes tricky install

This game is a worthy successor to the original Company of Heroes. Despite a few glitches for some users, my entire family, 6 PCs and one Macbook Pro have successfully installed and played this game. Whether it is via LAN or over the Internet, running XP or Vista, we are able to play and have great fun as a family. The only issue is the lack of stable DX10 support. Even though advertised as DirectX 10 compatible, there are lingering problems with nVidia-based video cards and DX10. Stick with DX9 for now and all is well. There is no better game for squad-level strategy than Company of Heroes.

Initially, I did not want to vent on this forum but I try to address the crashes on the Relic Support site and after I gave a detailed information on the form, I clicked the submit button and I received a message, "Your email address does not appear to be correct." I don't think Relic wants the feedback. This is unfair not to get what I paid for. I know it's only $39 but how many $39 boxes did this profit driven company without satisfying their customer took in? No more Relic games for me!!!

The game is fun and a good ad-on to company of heroes.

Only problem was that after you install it. you have to log on to the internet each time you want to play. I like playing on a network with friends. This ad-on made it hard to play on a network. I uninstalled it.

ruined multiplayer

Relic, Relic, Relic.... why did you go and thoroughly ruin a multiplayer experience that needed to be fixed in the first place? The updated graphics look nice, but have made multiplayer 4v4 games so laggy that the games are unplayable now. When will progammers learn that it's about the overall experience and not just the graphics? I've got a pretty good system too (C2D, NVidia 7800GT) but since multiplayer is p2p, it's dependent on everyone's systems.. and most can't handle the new expansion.
