Wow where to start? Assassin's Creed I believe captivated us all from the beginning, what with its stunning graphics too beautiful to not enjoy and its realistic plot and gameplay. In Assassin's Creed you become the assassin sent to kill off the 9 Crusaders of its time. When you delve into the game for the first time you are met with a scene that seems very modern and high tech. You start in a modern day era with a guy with jeans and a jacket on. At this point I was confused and a bit upset that they mixed modern and past elements together, but that is only the beginning. You play as the character Altair, the ancestor of the guy called Desmond who has been taken 'prisoner' to an experiment to collect his memories of his ancestor, Altair. I'll let you figure the rest out for yourself. Let me point out the cons and pros of this game.

WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
CONS: As many have said, the missions that you recieve are repetitive. You do the same thing in each city and this frankly got on my nerves a bit as well as getting the view points. But, as I played more and more I became interested in the game's storyline and wanted to know what happens. The cutscenes were long but they were necessary to the game's plot so it's a good idea to listen to what the characters talk about. Other than that there seems to be no other flaw to me.

On a good note, though the game was repetitive in some ways the assassinations were different and interesting from the rest. I liked that.

PROS: Stunning graphics, realistic scenery and people, wide area to explore. This game is definitely based off its graphics and storyline. Everything from people's responses to you to the way the horse you ride moves is so realistic. Near the end of the game you got to fight more and it was actually pretty fun. I didn't die once while seeking Robert. It was fun but I gave it four stars because sometimes if I slipped up for something so little then the guards would be after me and sometimes it takes forever to outrun them and hide.

When the storyline wraps up and you see what Desmond sees at the end of the game you're just like "What the..". And then the credits start rolling and you're confused. I was but that shows that it leaves it open for a second game. Once I started thinking about it the game really is kind of freaky..what with the end of the world thing and controlling people and whatnot. Overall Assassin's Creed was a great game, though it seemed short and was very easy, it shocked us all. It's very different from other games and I think that many of us thought that it would be similar to Prince of Persia. While Altair does have acrobatic skills like the prince this game is far different from Prince of Persia, which I think is good because Ubisoft succeeded in shocking some people with this deep and very different storyline. And they also took the risk at making this a religious game, which in today's society, will cause controversy. This game is fun, beautiful, and very interesting. If you don't own it rent it. It's worth trying at least once.

All I can say it "WOW"! If you want a game that has a great plot and lots of twists this is the one you should buy. This game brings something a little different to the gaming world. Most of the games that come out today are the same ol' FPS killing aliens blah blah blah. The storyline in this game is outstanding as you are a modern day Joe Smoe with assassins in your bloodline. Through the use of a machine called the Animus, you live as your ancestor and are being manipulated to assassinate targets hundreds of years in the past. All of these assassinations tie into future events. I don't want to give too much of the story away so you will just have to play it to see what I'm talking about. It is basically an open world with lots of tasks and missions that you must complete to unlock your memories of other events. Playing the game reminded me of Grand Thieft Auto at times with the openess of the towns where you are to do your tasks. The AI in this game is well above average and react quickly to the things that you do if you don't hide or become "invisible". The controls are easy to use, even when you learn more specialized moves later in the game and the graphics are outstanding. All of the cut-scenes are meaningful, timely, and are well done. The gameplay is not extremely difficult (at least it wasn't for me). At times I felt like I was really challenged in combat but then again that is not the point of the game now is it. The pucker factor comes when you have to make assassinations in the middle of a crowd or try to pick pocket someone. One false move and you will be in a fight. It took me about 20 hours to complete the game. I only did the missions that I was tasked to do and all of the sub-tasks in each of the cities. I did not complete the flag tasks, ect. All in all this is a must buy and not a rental.

Easily The Best RPG For The 360.

This game is just amazing. Graphics are beautiful, gameplay is amazing, controls are fun and interesting. This game is just WOW. I got it from my brother for Christmas this year, and let me say that this game leaves me at a loss for words. My friend who is an AVID Nintendo fan came over to watch me play Assassin's Creed, and he was in AWE over this game. I have not beaten this game yet, but I am pretty far into it. And it is extremely fun. What I like about it is that it is a more real life than most other games. For example, instead of just getting that task of Assassinating someone, you have to investigate the person, find the right time to do it, chase him down sometimes, sneak up on him other times, escape his soldiers just to get to him and much more other things that you have to do just to do ONE task. This game was alot different than I thought it was. I thought you just walked around killing guys. It is MUCH different. I can't give details about the story as it would ruin it, but i do suggest this game.

overall, a good game...room for improvement

visuals/music: 5/5...developers took advantage of the hardware; representations of cities give the player a compelling sense that he has been transported

gameplay: 4/5...very good interaction with virtually any element in the game is...fighting tactics were a bit too predictable but still fun...best part of playing was being creative in stalking targets and acquiring special items

storyline: 3/5...not the most compelling but it was a unique perspective on the potential of human DNA...also, a bit long-winded

Great game but can get monotonous

Great game with really good graphics! This will be a short review, but if just for the leap of faiths, this game is worth a rental. It gets a little repetetive, but it stays pretty fun. The flag finding gamerscores tend to be harder than they are worth. Still, worth a rental or a buy.

Enjoyed it!

After seeing the mixed reviews on this game, I thought I would give it a try and see for myself. I agree with the previous reviewers that the game is repetitive. However, I found my feelings towards the game changing as I played it:

Starting the game: I loved it! I was impressed with the level of detail and vastness in the environment. I was glued to the controller exploring every part of the environment.

Middle of the game: I began to notice the repetitive gameplay, as well as the lack of variety in NPC responses. Also, I became a bit weary of the storyline.

Last part of the game: Loved the direction of the story. Also, I feel like my character control really improved and was able to feel more immersed in the game.

By the end, I was sold on the game. It's definitely not the best game this year, but it is a strong step forward in gaming technology and development. Though others hated the story, I was very intrigued by the end and am looking forward to the direction of the sequel. This game was a memorable experience that I would recommend to others.

This game is very original. The time shifting is strange but it makes the game. I have had this game for about a week now and it is worth the money. The fighting moves that you can do once you figure out the buttons are nice. Even if you finish your task you can still move throughout the cities to finish sub tasks. The graphics are good as well but that standard now with all the high end games.

Great game. Fun to play, you can go anywhere you can see. Fighting is a bit weird but fun once you get used to it. Putting all gameplay aside the game is worth buying just for the graphics. Putting gameplay back into the picture it is a must buy.

Great start to the series but can we get some closure???

This game was fantastic both visually and in satisfying your blood lust. It does get to be a little bit repetitive and it took a minute to figure how to find your objectives after they stop giving them to you. The only real complaint that I have though is the ending, like most I think it could have given us a little more closure. Those few things added up to an overall 4 of 5 stars for me but it's still one of the best games released this year!
