Another Sega Hit

Sega never ceases to continue their amazing leaps forward in the gaming industry, and Jet Grind Radio can only amplify that! The unique cel-shading techinique which draws black lines around objects is not new, but new for actual in-game playing. You'll think it's 2D at first, until you see the camera rotate around a character. Mind-blowing indeed. If cartoons were real, this is what they'd look like. The game takes place in a fictinous Tokyo, and it's up to you to spraypaint the town with your logos, all while avoiding tanks, helicoptors, and the hordes of cops! What other game can you spraypaint the back of a police chief?! Jet Grind Radio 2? Yeah, it's coming!

In true anime style

Everyone loves anime.... at least they should, this game brings the "anime feel" into a game better than any other that I have played... not only the art style, which is awsome, but also the story, and the action. I got a little upset when a hellicopter started shooting missles at me on level 4, but after a few minutes I got to like it.... in what genre other than anime can "neo tokyo skate punks" jump through the air to tag the cockpit of an attack hellicopter, or paint the back of an angry gun weilding police seargent? I have not beat the game yet, but so far the battles just keep getting bigger and bigger in true anime style.

WoW! This is cool!

Ok great graphics, addicting gameplay, smoothe responsive controlls, andsweet soundtrack even if strange at times. You will never put this down it is amazing and I appluad Smile Bit for this masterpieace and absoloutly can't believe it failed in Japan(shame on u Japanese.). Pick this game up or your missing out on the best inline skating/graffitie game ever even if it is the only one.

Surprise! It's a great game.

It seems like such a silly premise to me. You play a character that roller-blades around various locales spray-painting graffiti on things and running from the keystone cops when they spot you. Nevertheless, this game is a lot of fun.

The graphics for this game are actually quite simple, but the cel-shading effect makes them a breath of fresh air in a time when most 3D games look the same. Everything appears like it's happening in a comic book, but has the depth and detail that you expect from a 3D game. In addition to that, the sound is really good if you enjoy this kind of music. Not everyone does and since only one track plays on any given level, you run the chance of hearing it... a lot. My cousins would play the tutorial for hours... and just one track would play the entire time.

It's exciting to play the game, though. There's plenty to do and discover, but it's not a daunting task to do so. Tricks happen almost automatically just from jumping in the air. Things like grinds, flips, and spins require no series of controller manipulation and button smashing to accomplish. And secrets are found by skill and accident in equal parts in my personal experience.

There are some quirks to get used to or simply deal with regarding the controls, but it doesn't do enough damage to detract from the overall enjoyment of the game. It's just another great game from Sega.

A great game....but not what I thought it would be like.

This is a great game. You going around spraying grafitti and this game in no way inspires grafitti. I thought you would be free to spray on whatever you want, but the bad things are you can only tag on some things. It is a pretty cool game though. It also has a great soundtrack consisting of techno, rap, and heavy metal.

Happiness!

to put things simply, this is a reason to buy a dreamcast and its sequel, Jet Set Future, is reason to buy an XBox. I don't even care how it will play, it'll be the sequel of one that played incredibly incredibly well. The visual style and presentation are unsurpassed, it's fun, I worship this game!!!

Very original!!!

This is a very good game if you are looking for something different. The whole idea of skating and spraying paint sounds stupid I admit. When you play the game it is a different story, the game pulls you in and won't let go. The music the scenery and the fast action make you want more. I have the blisters to prove it!!! Definately a game to try if you are looking for something to spark your brain.

This game is the best. It's like tony hawk with graffitti. you do tricks and grind up and down rails. you have to collect cans to do all the graffitti in the levels. there are 3 different cities and 4 differnt gangs going against you. plus a bunch of differnt characters

Pretty good, with only a few bad things

When I first heard about Jet Set Radio in a magazine I was reading, I thought that it was totally whack and stupid. It's actually pretty kool.

There are tons of pros to this game, and they definitely outweigh the cons. You get to go around and deface property by tagging it, and that in itself is a lot of fun. You can unlock new gangs, and even a dog to skate with. You can also do tricks and stuff like that, which earn you points. The controls are okay, bu there are 3 buttons that you don't use, so if you have a turbo controller, don't bother using it.

Of course, all games have cons, and the main thing I don't like is the fact that the police chase you, and you can only run away. Also, if you're tagging some stuff, it may take long enough for that annoying police squadron to find you and shoot you. If there was maybe an afterburner or something that would delay the police for a few seconds, that would be good.

Overall, this is a very good game, and I enjoy playing it.

this game is lots of fun i mean whats better than going around town spray painting walls and cars and getting the cops and other people upset with you.One thing i found that i was very impressed with was the animation is beutifal to look at.One other thing i was afraid there was not gonna be enough characters but alas i was wrong there are plenty of characters you can use to help spraypaint town.
