This is a pretty good game that I would recomend to most people. The bad part about it is that you have a small time limit and the tasks it wants you to do are very very hard. This is a chlenging game. Overall I give it a 4 out of 5. An 8 and a half out of ten.

I love this game!

Fun for a while but got boring when you realise that its the samething over and over and over. A little more variety and some 2 player options would have made Jet Grind Radio a lot better.

Yet again the curse of many Dreamcast games has hit...its only fun for a while, no lasting appeal or repay value.

3/5

First of all I'm going to say this game is awesome I would have given it a 5 but there are a few little problems I had with it. I'm still going to say that if you have a Dreamcast go try and find this game. If you don't have a Dreamcast but you see a copy of Jet Grind Radio and you have a few extra bucks pick up the system and this will be one of the only games you will need in fact so far it's the only game that I own.(I bought it for $10 Canadian and I'm not sure what the exchage rates are right now.)

Stylish, But Not That Fun...

When I purchased my SEGA Dreamcast not too long ago, the first game I had in mind was Jet Grind Radio. Word of mouth said it was a stylish, fun, innovative game and well worth the purchase.

Well, that's only partially true.

See, while this game is very cool and stylish (with nice cel-shaded graphics and interesting character design, as well as fitting music and sound of acceptable - though not exceptional - quality), and undeniably innovative (the spray paint mechanics are original), it's just not that fun. Here's why.

When I started playing, I was expecting something far more fast-paced. But your character moves at a disappointingly-slow speed. Also, the spray painting system, while fun at first, becomes boring and somewhat irritating. It's no fun to have to repeat the same actions over and over again, and nothing is worse than being shot at while your in the middle of tagging a building or sidewalk.

I would only recommend this game to someone who was interested in studying its cool and bold art style, or a die-hard SEGA fan, but to everybody else: borrow it if you have the chance (assuming you have a friend with a Dreamcast). If you can't borrow it, Just forget about it.

a great game thats great fun

This is one of the top games of the year. It is set in the future over in japan. you try to outrun the cops and rival gangs while you spray paint your logo all over town. You also get other people to join your crew by matching their moves, and if you succeed, the they will become members of your gang. The graphics in this game were reminiscient of the old Playstation game Parappa the Rappa, but the controls were much different. Imagine pressing buttons in tune with a beat, to controlling monster tricks that you can do anywhere! This is one of the great games of the year!

As original as it gets!

This is why I love SEGA! When they make games like this, it shows that they are thinking up NEW ideas and that they care about their fan base! This game is very, VERY FUN! It's so original. You select a character (and characters they are!) and head out to the streets of Tokyoto. You then have to skate around on seemingly endless stages tagging walls and avoiding the authorities! It is simply impossible to not enjoy this game! I found myself actually swinging to the music, too! It's a very fun and original game, and you shouldn't pass it up! Go on, give it a try! I know you'll love it!

Very entertaining

When I first saw screen shots of Jet Grind Radio, the graphics impressed with its unique cartoon-like appearance. I purchased an import version of this game titled Jet SET Radio and was thoroughly satisfied with the quality of it. The idea of skating around a city and painting graffiti while evading cops, helicopter, and tanks sounds good. And fortunately it plays just as well. Tricks are easy to perform (since most are automatic) but fun nonetheless. Music is up-beat and very 'Japanese'. Althoug I haven't play the American version of this game, I hear from editors of videogaming magazines that the two versions are identical except the American version boasts more added features than the Japanese version.

If this game sucks, it's your fault, not the game's

TRUST me, the control and cameras in this game are perfect. You don't need perfect timing to land on narrow spaces either. Play this for an hour or two and anyone can master how to jump from railing to railing and grind down (or up) the streets. The graphics are awesome but once the game starts and you're busy trying to paint all over the city while evading cops, tanks, and helicopters, you don't have time to notice it really. Honestly though, I felt that the graphics could have used a little touch up here and there (for instance, the trees in this game look kinda crappy). Do not worry though, since this game boasts great gameplay and SOUND! Jet Set Radio actually deserves 96 out of 100 but since amazon only has a 5 star rating system, 96 rounds up to a 5 out of 5. blah blah blah... just play the game and you'll like it.
