Is there any other game like Metal Gear ?... NO.

This is the best ever... don't waist your time... if you don't know it... just buy it... you won't regret it...

I just finished this game last night, after playing it for 8 hours straight. I rarely ever play a game this much (im lucky if i play video games 2 hours a week). It kept me capitvated and had me wanting more and more like a very good book. The story is engrossing and very complex. I had not played the other MGS's but I did alot of reading on the story line of the earlier games (highly recommend doing if you want the full effect of the game, or if you have the time, play through the old ones).
This game is cutscene heavy (said by everyone else), but don't let that steer you off. These cut scenes are intense and very well done. Not to mention the audio in this game is INTENSE! It was mastered very well, and makes my sound system scream! Graphically this game is the best i've personally played this generation for console games, which over takes Uncharted (also very beautiful game). I also participated in the online beta for this game, and I wasn't too impressed, but people told me not to let it get me down. MGS4 is about the single player mode and the story line. I have yet to fire up MGO so I wont be able to review that aspect of the game, but i'm more into faster pasted Online shooters (Cod4, UT3, CS)(this is a tactical game afterall). Just for the single player alone this is worth the 60$ price tag. There are alot of things that can easily be missed or done in a different way in this game, so its always fresh. I definately plan on playing this game through several times.

Wow! What a terrific game. This is the first MGS game I've played and love every minute of it. The game is truly epic with amazing graphics and superb controls. This game showcases the power of the PS3-a must own!

A Review From Somone Who Has Never Played Previous MGS Games

I didn't play Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, or 3. I just bought a PS3 and heard this game was amazing, so i took a chance and bought it. For the first 5 hours, this game is difficult to understand, and to be honest, not a lot of fun. But once you get the hang of the controls, and the weapon customization and item usage, it becomes a breeze. The plot line is fairly easy to follow, as the games developers explain everything to you as you go along. Therefor people that don't know any of the story lines have a pretty good idea of what's going on in this game. The second i finished this game, i immediately started it up again on a higher difficulty level. its' that good. you'll want to play it over and over. a must buy.

I got it to play a video game not watch a crappy movie. I want to play a game not watch hours of stories. The bad thing is to skip the stories you have to press start 4-5 times in a row.I guess if your life is not complete without the metal gear series you will like it. The graphics are great. It seemed easier than other metalgears.If you are in your 30's living in mom's basement with nothing better to do then you will love it.

Well I have doubts that many people have run through the entire game even with the walkthru, so here it is, So far, pretty awesome game. Very fluid controls excellent enemy AI, decent weapons and sweet chameleon like camo suit. Has a long load time of 8 minutes, and the epic cut scenes need to have a skip option. So far so good, more to follow....

I can't sell this game to new fans, but I can promise the old MGS'ers that Metal Gear Solid 4 is a fitting conclusion to a wonderful series, and is yet another automatic friend for my thumbs a la Kojima.

The story was tight and superb, although it wasn't mended up until the very end.

There are repeated moments of exquisite fun, and the satisfacttion factor is off the charts...

Love to this game and to this series.

It's a solemn thing that it's over though; it was a great ride.

Eye has me.

It's definitely a cinematic game, but that's its biggest downfall. It's impossible to simply pick-up-and-play this game; be ready to dedicate at least an hour to this game if you hope to play for twenty minutes.

For those looking for a game, and not a movie, buy a game, instead of Metal Gear Solid 4. It's that easy!

This is without a doubt the best game of all time. Everything is jaw dropping from the graphics to the gameplay to the emotion filled story.
