Good game.

This is one of the best football games for PS2 that I have played. The create a team and create a profile or player sections aren't that good. I love the built in rumble feature cause you can feel every tackle and sack. This is a good game but as always if you don't think you'll like it, rent it first. If you like it, buy it or buy it without renting it first which is what I did. Fotball fans will pobably love this and won't want to buy it. Whatever you do, make sure you give it a try.

A really awesome football game

I used to think that Tecmo Superbowl for the original Nintendo was the best football game of them all. Now that I've been introduced to Madden 2002 it's opened up a whole new playing field. With awesome play-by-play coverage and commentary by John Madden and Pat Summeral and smooth graphics and great handling, and the addition of Madden cards and managing your own franchise, Madden 2002 is the best football game of 2002.
Bottom Line: Madden 2002 rocks

Madden has got it going on for 2002!!

Just the pure feel of this game makes me want to play it all the time. I'm losing sleep over it. The most fun part is making your own uniforms in the create-a-team editor. The computer AL is hard though. Winning a game is not as easy as it used to be. Go out and buy this game!!

By far the best football game I have ever played. Although Tecmo Bowl for Nintendo is still my all time favorite. I must be sentimental. Great graphics, great game play. I'll give it 5 stars even though Maddens voice gets on my nerves!

A Must Have for the PS2

I must say that they have out done themselves this time. This is the only game you need for the PS2. Not only is fun when you play the game by yourself, but get a friend that knows football and you will have classic battles that will have you keeping track of stats and records between the both of you. When you do play the game by yourself it gets really good when you create your own team from city, stadium, uniforms, players, etc. Then put your team in a season and/or franchise and coach and play for 30 years. The franchise mode is pretty deep and takes a lot of attention because you have to re-sign players, sign free agents and go through the draft. This is the best game for the PS2.

almost perfect

i got the game the day it came out and i haven't stopped playing it since. but, there are still a few flaws that could be fixed for next year. one, make the injury animations better and maybe occasionally have an ambulance come on the field.we should be able to create our own plays. on franchise mode, have the computer actually make trades and offer you trades. lastly, maybe think about releasing the game a few weeks later so the rosters are more accurate.

Madden NFL 2002

Everyone says that this year's Madden Football is not much of an improvement of last year's Madden. But look at it this way, how can you improve on perfection. The only improvement is that they included the wonderful 2001 Rookie Class and the Houston Texans through the franchise mode. I think they should have included Madden Classic, a mode where you are enabled to play the 16-bit version of Madden Football '93, "ahh... those were the days", which is part of the PSX and N64 versions of Madden 2002. Last, they made the improvement of the player sizes, i.e. Miami Kicker Olindo Mare was similar in size to Pittsburgh Running Back Jerome Bettis. Thank You!

Am a football fanatic and i wait for the football season from the next day of SuperBowl. Well, for me NFL madden 2002 is the best available medicine. The graphics are mind-blowing, so is the play by play calling Madden-summerall. Let it be the different game modes(exibition, tournament, season, et al), the music, the touchdown antics, the refrees and the coaches on the sideline, i mean everything is so real. Its like u are watching a love Football game. And u are actually playing it. So now, this year, i aint deperately waiting for September. I have enough NFL till then.

What can I say, this game has it all. The game play is unreal and you will never want to put this one down. The franchise mode (my favorite) is tremendous. Controlling all aspectsof the front office is a must for any die hard football fan. A must buy.
