Great Game. If you loved the Sands Of Time than you'll love this one. The combat system is awsome!

Awesome!

Great follow up to the orignal. The levels where you are being chases are thrilling (sometimes frusterating too but hey) and the combat is great.

One of the two best games ever

The two best games in the universe are Zelda and Prince of Persia. These two games are amazing! If more games emulated these two video games then it would be astonishing how cool the world would be.

Not Worth its Shelf Price

In general, the game is good but I wouldn't buy it at its current market value...

First off, the game took me 10 days not only to finish, but also to complete, which is not very long as I don't pull all-nighters or stay up until the wee hours of the morning to play games. I say anyone good enough and serious about finishing the game as soon as possible could easily pull it off within 2-4 days. Now not being a long game is actually a good thing in this case, as I wouldn't be able to stand the repetitive and redundant puzzle solving any longer than I have. It's not that the puzzles were challenging, but just that they were always the same thing.

Secondly, I don't mind backtracking in order to find special items/weapons that is typical in games of this genre, but the problem with this game is that it is very easy to get lost without a walkthrough. This is partly due to the fact that the map is quite useless as it is not comprehensive enough. X marks your objective and the little red figure marks where you are. These marks are then superimposed on a aerial view of the fortress, which is quite impractical to say the least seeing as you spend 99% of your time INSIDE the fortress.

As for the last con, the combos were great but again a little redundant. You're pretty much doing the same moves but at different times during the combination depending on which button you press first.

On a positive note, the story is original and easy to follow regardless of whether or not you played the first installment of Prince of Persia. The creators of the game did connect the stories' of the two, but this is done only at the beginning of the game as an introduction. The rest of the story is entirely unique to "Warrior Within".

Furthermore, the scenery graphics were awesome, the controls aren't very hard to figure out, the cut scenes were convincing, and unlike others, I totally enjoyed having some Godsmack playing during fight scenes. That kind of music simply gets my adrenaline going.

Anyhow, I'd only recommend buying the game when its price gets lowered.

This game is the best game i've ever played. The graphics are amazing, all of it looks like it's from the cinematics. The game play is even better, the controls don't lag. The story is really well written, it gives a chance for the persian prince to mature and grow along with the world he tries to save. So if you love action, amazing graphics and an intersting story line pick up this game but if don't like said stuff then don't pick up this game.

Warrior Within!!

Prince of Persia Warrior Within begins after one of the greatest games I have ever played Prince of Persia Sands of Time but this time the Prince has a Mature rating which I think is great!!! It still has the great easy to pick up controls that the last one did and the Prince this time has a few more moves. I love playing this game I am such a big fan of this series I used to play the old one a long time ago on the old apple computer when I was at after school daycare and getting back into the series last year was such an awsome experience! Both Warrior Within and Sands of Time are great games and I think that alot of people are going to miss out on this game because of the Halo 2, GTA: San Andreas, and Half Life 2 craze! I have San Andreas and I am getting sick of the same game play and graphics that rockstar puts out every year and I don't think that GTA:SA is worth the money! If you were a fan of the old POP or are a newcomer to the series pick up both Warrior Within and Sands of Time they are both great games and are going to be on the greatest hits lists for all three systems!

More Perfect

Don't try to play this game without first playing POP: Sands of Time. You will not understand how to play this game or what's going on if you try to play it first.

That being said; Sands of time was the most perfect game I have played in recent memory and, most likely, ever.
Warrior Within takes the elements that worked so well in the first game and revamps the only gameplay that was lacking: the combat.
With entirely new combat this game takes the perfect formula of Sands of Time and improves upon it to get an even more perfect and incredible experience.

Warrior within does have a Mature rating though the blood and gore isn't very noticeable. Just be warned.

Combat and grace, the perfect balance.

Everyone who has not been under a rock for the last 10 years has heard of prince of persia. From it's humble computer beginings to this latest incarnation the formula has been simple, beautiful motion captured moves and immense environments to explore coupled lately with some combat. Well now we have the best of all of them. Don't be put off by the naysayers, this game kicks ass! Graphically gorgeous, huge indoor and outdoor areas, slow-mo beheadings, and gigantic bosses, it all adds up to big ol' fun!
I really want to focus on the combat system, it's been bashed and lauded, and lets just clear this up, the combat system is about as perfect as you could want in a game of this sort. That as much effort was put into the combat as is apparent while still creating the vast castle, and smooth ass moves says that the designers really love us. There is much satisfaction in chaining combos together to dispatch 5 evil minions at once, heads and bodies falling to the ground in glowing dust halos, as growling guitar riffs beat in the background, ahhh bliss! As an older gamer I hope that we see more games of this sort, because it makes owning a PS2 totally worthwhile. Don't be dissuaded, wait if you must for it to go greatest hits, but do not miss this title, you WILL regret it. Long live the prince, hahaha.

Better than Sands of Time, and that's saying alot...

Warrior Within is what a sequel should be: a bold and daring new direction for a franchise that still maintains the aspects of the original that made it so great, and improves upon it in others. The platforming and acrobatics that made Sands of Time so terrific are still here (and even more thrilling thanks to new twists such as the Dahaka chases), and the combat system is SO MUCH BETTER. Although there is much more emphasis on combat this time around, it's not as bad thanks to a combo system that works flawlessly and adds variation to combat. And if you don't feel like fighting, you can almost always just throw the enemies off a ledge and send them to their doom.

In addition, SOT was a bit on the short side, so Warrior Within had to change that. Thankfully, Warrior Within is much longer, however, it's probably more addictive as well. The plot is just as engaging as SOT (I really loved Kaileena's character), and the atmosphere, which is dark and brooding, makes for a different, but nevertheless even more interesting change than the ancient castles of Persia and the Middle East.

Warrior Within is a gaming masterpiece, and I look forward to more adventures with the Prince of Persia.

It only gets better and better...

This game is what Tomb Raider is supposed to look like. The game mechanics...the controls... Felt the first was the best overall game. The second is twice as good, but everyone has gotten wise, and now the competition is growing. The developers have realised what adventure gamers really want!
