First time I saw the display at local game store, I thought playing this game will bring headache since the characters in the game can wandering around upsidedown, but when I play, it's really fun, and after some times I'm getting used looking at the upsidedown characters.

I was a fan of the playstaion every since the first one came out in the 90's. I was a PS3 owner until my step son got a Nintendo WII for his birthday. I found mario galaxy on ebay and bought it used. I was hooked from day one. I sold my PS3 and all the games and bought myself a WII and this game. A must for all ages of gamers

This game is just spectacular!!!!!!!!!! What I love about it is that it's not hard. you can just take it out of the box and play it. I'm not the best at it so I love that I can just pick it up and have fun with it. There's lots of different Mario "people" you can turn into upon picking up a special mushroom or something like that. For example there's fire Mario, bee Mario, ice Mario, rainbow Mario and boo Mario. (boo Mario is a ghost Mario.) This game never gets boring at all! This game isn't worth deciding over. it's completely worth it. BUY IT!!!!!!!

I've had this game since Christmas and love it! It is extremely fun and innovative with the crazy gravity engine. This game is not only fun but looks great for a Wii game. The game does have the basic plot of the Mario franchise: traveling from level to level collecting smaller stars and eventually collecting huge stars all the while trying to rescue Princess Peach and defeat Bowser. It has a fairly good replay value because there is the tough goal of collecting every single star in order to be able to play the game over as Luigi. Overall, in my opinion, this game is the best game released for the wii so far. It's fun for all ages, and yet challenging as well. A definite must have for any wii owner.

Seriously, I do not think of video games that highly anymore. The amazement of playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES in 1985 is long gone, so is the fun of shooting ducks on the screen. But, this game (including a bunch of other wii games) makes you do things you never did before. I had to learn how to steer mario on a stingray using the wii remote making sure I did not fall off the ocean into never never land, roll him on a ball Monkey Ball style, swing my controller to spin attack, hear my controller speak to me, etc, I don't know about you but my playstation 2 games now collect dust.
Just pressing buttons for hours on end are a retro concept to me now... okay the graphics are nice but lets be real- they don't compare to the PS3 but you know what, who cares, I'm having way more fun than any of my friends PS3 games ever gave me. The magic of the game feels disney like to me.
FANTASTIC!

Review by my son who is 8 years old and a good video gamer:
Super Mario Galaxy is great. The power-ups, the graphics, the animation - it's all great, although I burned through the whole game in a week. It wasn't that challenging. The camera does not always track Mario well while he's upside down, which can make him hard to control. But after I finished the game, it was so fun that I kept playing and found 35+ more stars.
An absolutely stunning game that all should enjoy.

I grew up with Mario. I played all the greats, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World 1/2, and of course, Super Mario 64. I also played the somewhat of a letdown, Super Mario Sunshine. I'm happy and proud to announce that Mario is back as the king of platformers and is a huge step up from Super Mario Sunshine.
The graphics certainly draw some attention with their high amounts of shine. It really is about as realistic as you could go without it loosing that Mario charm. Everything looks fantastic, almost as if you're living in a beautiful dream world. In fact, you kind of are. All of the environments I came across were great, and it helps a lot that there are so many different kinds to keep things looking fresh.
The thing about this game that really stood out to me was the amazing music. The whole thing was done with an amazing professional orchestra and it sounds fantastic. They've remade you're favorite old Mario songs and thrown in some new ones that are certainly welcome. The music is calm and relaxing at times, goofy and nostalgic at others, and epic when it needs to be. The soundtrack really adds to the experience.
The fantastic Mario game play remains intact here, and works surprisingly well with the Wiimote. The developers made a smart move in not pushing the Wiimote on the game, but at the same time I'd say the parts they did integrate it, like combat and gathering and shooting star bits, are still great. The platforming is top notch and is probably the best I've seen in a long time. Its difficult enough to pose a challenge, but not to the point where you get truly frustrated. Not until the end anyway, it did start to get tough in the last terrace. Some seriously cool stuff happens in this game, one minute you're in the sky traveling on a giant worm from apple to apple, the next you're in an ice world, using your Ice Mario powers to freeze water so you can use it a step. That's the other thing that is so great, there are a bunch of new cool suits, and all of them have their uses in finishing the level.
So I hope you enjoyed the review, and I hope it has prompted you to at least go out and try this amazing game. It really did give me the feeling of falling in love with video games all over again.
By far the best game on the Wii

Despite its cartoonish appearance, Super Mario Galaxy is by far my selection for the best game on the Wii. Its a solid platformer with the best integration of the Wiimote to date. The story is basic Mario, so no surprise there. The graphic quality is superb by Wii standards. Its only real drawbacks are difficulty and that the game is too short. It really didn't take me any time to complete the game, but both of those complaints seem to be an overall trend in games anymore. Water levels still are not fun with Mario. That being said though, this is definately worthy of your time and money.
