Nice graphics, great idea, but frustrating voice recognition.

My 7-year-old daughter played that game just for a couple of hours. The graphics are very cute. The entire idea of raising little dogs, teaching them tricks and taking care about them in general is very educational, but the voice recognition part of the game has plenty of cracks and problems. My daughter spent over 25 minutes just to name the dog, b/c the AI chip was not able to recognize the repeated words. Same problems with commands and tricks. We checked the game against her friends who came for pay-date to play the games, and had roughly the same problem. My daughter stopped playing the game after few futile days. i just hope she goes back to the game one day. Otherwise the money has been wasted.
WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!

I don't have a DS yet but I'm getting one for my b-day.
The first game I buy will be NINTENDOG!!!!
This game rocks! I highly disagree with the person who said that it was a bad game. And it will NOT come-out on PSP.
Great

I didn't get to play the game yet. We are still waiting for my NDS. But I think it will be great thanks to all the other people's comments. I just hate when people put that they hate it because a real dog can actually love you and have fun with you. We have a dog and nintendogs. But we still play with our dog all the time. But you can't bring you real dog everywhere you go. So nintendogs will really help when we go on vacation and can't bring the dog. Thanks for everything everyone wrote. I know this game will be the best. Hannah

First of all to Gemma.. this is not a game.. it is a pet simulator. Just the beginning of more innovative software that will come out for the DS.
If all you want is guns, cars, or football.... buy a Sony PSP.
great game

My 60+ year old mom loves this game. I have never played, nor never intend to, but buy it for that loved one who may want a well behaved pet for once in their life.
Awesome

I'm fourteen and I absolutely love this game. I've always wanted a dog my whole life, but my parents won't let me have one. The game is very realistic and when you pet the dog, it responds to you and it almost feels like you were petting a real dog. You can teach it tricks just like a real dog. The only downside is that you can't really "take it for walks" and see the scenery. All you do is draw the route and then the dog goes away and then comes back. Overall, I quite like this game and didn't even realize I had been playing it for an hour.
Nintendo makes a classic for all the ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One day,E3 2004,they announced the nintendo ds and i went bezerk.I wanted it soo badly and when i got it,it was worth every penny.I got mario 64 and i beat it and played with it for a long 5 monthes. Then no other good games came out and i was just about to sell it until i saw a dog sim game at eb called nintendogs.I said wow this looks awsome and it was.Dumb psp owners play their expensive sticky controlled psps's with no good games, while i am playing the most innovative game ive ever played. Its becoming a phenomenon all over the world. The game is very replayable and you can play with your pup, walk it,groom it,train it,go to obiedience trials, frisbee, and agility.Buy this version because they have the cutest dogs and most behaved. They have the starter dogs as chihuaha(little adorable taco bell dog),german shepard(every one loves them),boxer(so cute and well behaved(little floppedy ears)),shelties(the best behaved most adorable dog in all the games buy it for this cute dog!,king charles cavelier(very adorable),and little yorkeeeesss. They have made this game for dog lovers who cant get a dog or who dont want to take the responsibility of getting one.Best nintendo game since legend of zelda ocarina of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is really fun!

I like this game because I like Chihuahuas and the dogs do really cute things and do lots of tricks. You have to have patience because it takes a while for the dog to learn tricks and its name, just like a real dog. It's worth it. You can enter them in contests and take them on walks. You can actually talk to your dog. I really like this game. Hailey - age 8
