all breeds are unlockable

I had a hard time choosing which Nintendogs version to buy, until I noticed that all the breeds are unlockable! If you treat your dog well enough and enter it in competitions, etc. then you get to unlock more breeds that are offered in the other versions of the game, very neat! The dogs act surprisingly realistic and add hours of fun. Definately not a game you could sit down and play all day, but lots of fun for returning play for maybe 20 minutes at a time during car rides, breaks at work, etc.

I am very picky about game buying and this is one of the few I own. I suggest if you like Sim style games such as animal crossing or virtual pet games, this is one for you.

Whatever that kid with the title speechless is talking about, he's completely wrong. He probably has a psp and is just jealous :) You blame us for playing with imaginary characters, newsflash ALL games have imaginary characters. your probably a REALLY lonely person and have never had a dog, so that's why you probably don't think it is fun. But this is just as fun as playing with a real dog (without the drool and smell) I mean how cool is it that the dog actual listens sto your commands, and actually goes after the frisbree you throw, and smile when you pet it, and there eyes follow your stylus when you move it. This has to be the coolest game invited, with the touch screen and microphone it's actually like YOU are in the game (you can't say that can ya PSP?) So don't listen to the other lame gamer's reviews and buy this game, it rocks! (I'm going to get daschund though.)

I have owned my japanese import version of this game since first week of June, and even without the english, I can play it and it's probably the best portable game I've ever played, possibly the best computer/video game I've played, with the exception of starcraft.

More importantly, I use it as an aid to make kids stop crying at the hospital, and let me tell you, this game stops kids COLD, when they see it at work. The first time you see a 14 month old kid start petting the dog through the window, it's pretty amazing... Same with the bubble blowing.

This was a birthday present for my daughter. She just loves her puppies, and teaches them new tricks. Also, the delivery was very timely.

This game is a great way to start off with a new nintendo ds to learn all of the different features ans such. It makes great use of the touch screen and microphone, yet something keeps me from playing this game every day. One of the reasons is that i am busy, though i could play it on the go, or because it is not a game that you can sit down on your day off for six hours and make a lot of progress. you are only able to enter three competitions each day and teach your dog new tricks only three times. You can buy multiple dogs and they can each enter three copetions a day, but i only have two. I dont like any of the breeds in this game other than the two that i have, so i am waiting to unlock new breeds(which you can do by being good to your dog) and purchase more. You can have up to eight dogs, but only three at your house. you can put the rest in the dog hotel (i dont think it costs anything) Overall, a good ds game.

remember me! the girl said who was gonna buy a ds and nintendogs well i did! and its perfect, i got a girl husky and named it sasha as you see i played my friends at school and you probably saw that review too! anyway its awsome i taught her to sit, paw, lie down, and roll over but its my second day!! the mic really suprised me by how good it is and touch screen is like magic! nintendogs has so much you can do! give a bath, feed, play with over 100 toys, go on walks, go to the gym, or go to contests and so much more! my dog is now in the opens obiedience class!!! it rocks my dad and mom are so awsome for buying it but someone out there with chihuahua and friends i want a chihuahua but i have dashhund and friends please try to be in bark mode so i can unluck it or give a tip on how to unluck!!!!

First off I am only giving it 5 stars so it will not make its rating go down. I myself have only played it once at Target, but I couldnt play it that much. My birthdays next week and I dont know if I should buy it. I like star wars, the jak games, and of course destroy all humans, but i just got a new pupy that is one of the ones on this game. Should I buy it? And buy the way this wont go psp because its called NINTENDOdogs. Sony might make something like petstation or sonydogs.

This IS the best game to EVER hit the stores!!!!!
I'm getting "nintendogs - chihuahua and friends" for my birthday (which is 25 days away!!!)!
You'd have to be cold hearted indeed to not fall in love with this game!!!
If you love dogs, get it now!!!!

This game is very fun. It dosn't teach anything, but it would be a great start for anyone who wants to know how to raise a dog. I have it myself and I play it for hours and hours at a time. When you train your dogs it takes a long time if you don't say it clearly. The game pack is very small and could get lost and broken if you don't keep it in a safe place. This game will entertain you for hours and will keep you wanting to play more.
