great game... an example of an excellent retro-game

This is a great port. Exactly the same as the classic NES version, us older gamers will enjoy the familiar antics of mario and luigi while younger gamers will get a taste of a truly classic video game. Only thing that takes it down a notch are exactly what plagued the NES original: It sometimes get hard to control(especially when controlling your jumps) and it seems a bit unfair for some people like me (seemingly endless game; also who can forget the final castle? A gigantic maze and you only have 400 seconds to complete the level--geez, it's all back here...) Oh well. Despite these problems, this game is still a blast.

A really good Mario game.

You have to admit, this is a good game. It has good graphics for a Game Boy game. It takes a really long time to get boring. The only drtawback is that all Mario games are the same for Game Boy. The only thing that makes this one better is that it is in color

I remember when i was 6 years old. This my most favorite thing in the world on NES. Now it is back again on game boy color. This time it has ton of extras such as 32 new levels if u beat the game twice and challenges for each level such as collecting red coins or finding yohsi eggs. you can also race against boo on certain levels. This is a great game. Just like the original but with tons of extras

This was my first game on my gameboy color, so I was VERY excited about it. Don't get me wrong I loved Super Mario Brothers Deluxe a whole lot.(yet I still haven't beat the game:(
I would play it almost none stop, and it's a complete replica of the original one, with even more stuff on it, like being able to race boo, playing in Luigi's World(which is harder) and lots of other bonus stuff. But the next Christmas when I got Donkkey Kong Country, I stopped playing Super Mario. DKC has a lot better graphics and stuff. Super Mario is a great first game, but after you've had better graphic games its hard to pick up again.

Its so brilliant if only there were more games like this.

This game is great. I heard the news that there is going to be a 16 bit version of Super Mario Bros. but I can tell you already this version is better and more authentic.It just has a classic look to it that cant be replaced. The game is very simple and to the point when it comes to concept but contains some very hard obstacles later on. If you love Mario I command you to get this game.You owe it to yourslef and to Mario and Luigi.A perfect 10.
I only wish that Nintendo hadnt stopped making Game Boy Color games because we could have seen The Legend Of Zelda,Kid Icarus,Metroid,Ghosts N Goblins and Mad Max on Game Boy Color cartridges if they hadnt stopped making Game Boy Color games.Its sort of sad if you ask me.

This game is really fun until you get bored with it. If you are looking for a kind of challenging game, that will last you a couple of weeks, then this game is good for you. Let me tell you that you will most likely beat the normal levels in a few days(2-5), but once you do beat them, then you can look for the five golden coins, and the yoshi eggs.I hope you have fun with it.

I love this game it is awesome.First you beat the game then you do a more difficult version of it where the goombas are replaced with the metal bugs and the castles are harder.Then you try to get the ultimate high score of 300,000 once you do that you get to play Super Mario Bros 2 The Lost Levels which is much harder.The only problem is that sometimes in world 6-3 you die when you jump off the screen because Billy Bomb is there. You must buy this game!

This game is just like the original Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo. It is super. It is a lot of fun. If you love the Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo and you have a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance I suggest buying this game. It is a truly great game.

The bros. are back and better man!

uy itI loooooooove this game! I was thinking no it would be a baaaaad game. But I played it and I banged my head against the wall 15 times in a row! Anyway it is a fun game! Buy it!
