Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is really worth the money. There are 96 levels to explore, 8 racing levels where you race a boo, challenge levels to rack up coins and a great score and medals to be earned for rescueing the princess + more! This is truly the best gameboy game I have and I wouldn't trade it. It was the first one i got and i'm glad i picked it. Way worth the money!
a fabulous game

this is my second review on SMB deluxe. This is a very fun game. There are three modes. there is an original mode, where you rescue Princess Peach(aka Toadstool); the challenge, where you play any level you have beat in Original; and the VS mode, where you hook up to a friend's(or enemy's)GBC and race. In the challenge, you collect medals(Yoshi Egg, Red Coin, and Score)for each level by completing different tasks in that level. After you rescue Peach there is the Star Courses, and you rescue Peach again. Also, there is a highscore list. When you have a higher score than Boo, you can have a one-player race against him. If you get first place there is 32 more levels, what I call Super World. I haven't beat that yet. there is an album too. In there, you get different pictures for things you do, like stomping on an enemy or rescuing Peach. And, there is a Toy Box, where you can mark dates in a calender, get hints for finding Yoshi Eggs, or do Fortune Telling. If your fortune is Extremely Lucky, you get 5 extra lives. The funnest part about the game is when you rescue Peach. there is sort of a little ceremony with cool music, and you win an Award. This game is THEE BEST for GBC!!!
Possibly the best game of all time has been renewed

You loved it back in 1985, you can love it more than 15 years after. Super Mario Bros. has been brought back better than ever. With all the original levels, new challenges, tons of bonus features, and an updated 2 player mode, this version of Mario is fantastic. If their's only one complaint of mine its that a Game Boy, with its smaller screen, and lacking of a controller, it creates a noticeably game play different. Other than this the game is a must buy. There's few games better than this.
The 1985 classic back from the dead ... and then some!

Super Mario Bros. for the NES revolutionized video gaming, no questions asked. Accordingly, a rerelease for the Game Boy Color seemed fitting. All 32 levels from the NES classic are back, in all their pixelated glory. The music is left unchanged from the NES as well! Plus, once you beat the 32 normal levels, you get to play through them again in an expert mode with tougher enemies more common and smaller lifts. Beat those and you get 32 NEW levels, from the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 (these are often called "The Lost Levels" in America.) In addition to these amazing features, there is a challenge mode where you must find a hidden Yoshi egg, 5 red coins, and get a high score. There's even a mode where you have to race to the end of a unique level against Boo! Lastly, the game contains several extras you can print out with your Game Boy Printer, which increase in number as you progress through the game. BY ALL MEANS PURCHASE THIS GAME IF YOU OWN A GBC or GBA.

Super Mario Bros. DX is da ba-bomb! It has tons of replay value including, racing Boo, keeping a calendar, playing Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan version) , getting your fortune told and more. You can even play as Luigi by pressing select at the map screen I love this game! It is compatible with Game Boy printer and game link. It is by far the best Game Boy game.
Very Fun, but newer Mario fans may like something else.

In short, this game is very fun. For those who do not know, "Super Mario Deluxe," contains the original "Super Mario Bros." from the original Nintendo Entertainment System. It also contains new secrets to unlock, such as the Boo racing mode, the lost levels, and some other goodies. It also has a new challenge mode, where players attempt to find red coins, Yoshi eggs, and obtain high scores. Mario Deluxe plays similar to all of the other Mario games, but being the original platformer, the only power ups are the star, fireflower, and mushroom, and you can't do things like carry koopa shells. So while I love the game, if you're a new-school Mario fan, wait until Super Mario World comes out for Gameboy Advance. People looking for an overall good time, however, should definetely try this one out.

This is like a retro trip into the '80s. I hadn't played the game since 2nd grade, and then ten years later it turns out to be just as entertaining and addictive as it once proved to be. Mario became a true legend with this game, long before the Gameboy, SNES, and N64 spinoffs, and it still holds the power behind its simple gameplay. This game won't be the same to anyone who wasn't around in the NES glory days, when 8 bit Legend of Zelda and Contra were the best things around, but for those who were play it again and get the nostalgia trip of a lifetime.

Three years ago, I bought a 1985 Commodore 64 (64 becuase it had 64K of memory in it) from my neighbor. It came with a drive for 720K 5.25" inch disks and a tape drive. On one of the disks, I found Super Mario Bros. SMB Deluxe has the same game plus more. In the orignal, there were 32 levels, Mario, Luigi, Flowerpower, little mushroom guys, turtles, flying turtles, red turtles, spike shells, little shell things, ghosts, and a few other things. My favorite part was a bug: If you left the game pasued for 5 minutes or so, then unpaused it, the evil guys would turn very big, 3 inches across and 2 inches high on the screen.
I'm 8 years old again

It's the same old original Super Mario Bros. . . YES! Nintendo brought back THE classic, and it's as frustratingly and addictively fun as ever. I bought this for fun, and then my wife decided to try it. . . then I had to buy her a gameboy of her own and another copy of this game so I could get another shot at it myself. After such great comebacks as this and Dragon Warrior, I can't wait to see if they'll do remakes of Castlevania, Zelda, or Metroid. Great job, Nintendo. Keep it up and we'll never see the light of day again as we relive the gaming experiences of our youths. =o)
The Classic is back!

The instant I turned this game on I immediatly recognized it as the Super Mario Bros. I have for my NES. The graphics are a little better and it is obviously more portable. There is so much stuff crammed into this cartridge that the chances of getting shot with a BB gun in your shin by a guy named Frank Samsain. This game is perfect in every way, although it's too bad you can't get Yoshi. But don't forget, you CAN NOT play this game if you don't have a Game Boy Color, so don't even try without one. Overall, this is a stupendous game and I recommend it to anyone who loves the Classic stuff!
