This game is quite good. I didn't have any problems running it on my Toshiba Sattellite laptop. It ran smoothly and I got no crashes. Graphics and animation are great, but I don't like the music and most of the voice acting. If you want something professional in terms of sound, music & story play Baldur's gate. If you finished it, and Icewind Dale 1 & 2, and the amazing NWN and it's add-ons, then Temple of Elemental Evil will keep you busy for a while. It's a great fun game and I reccommend it to any RPG fan with a computer that meets the system requirements. It's worth a whole lot more than the 9$ amazon is selling it for.

I unfortunately paid for this game, but I at least bought it from a physical store, where it was easy to return. The first game I bought froze during install about 3/4 of the way through. I exchanged it for another one, which froze up about 2/3 of the way through. This is a completely unfinished product which is unacceptable, even for a beta test.
Awsome!!!

I've really been enjoying this game. The only problem I've had so far was that I had to install it twice because the computer didn't read some stuff the first time. I've had no other bugs or problems so far. If you don't have XP then maybe you could, I can't say.
Other than that it ROCKS! The graphics are very well done, and the monsters are also very well rendered. The attention to detail was so awesome. They have bugs flying around and mice scurrying around on the floor of a dungeon. The torches look real with realistic flames and sparks! This is a turn-based RPG so please be advised. The battles go well, and it's so nice to be able to plan your attack. Sure it's slower, but then you can use proper formations and not end up with your wizard in the front or other frustrating things that happen in real time action.
I'm running this on my 900mhz AMD system with Windows XP, NVIDA4 420 with 64megs of ram, 512megs of ram and I'm set on 800x600 @16 bit and I've only gotten lag when facing many adversaries and it's still not too bad.
It's not fun if you can't play...

Geez, the only success you can have in this game is exploring the first town! How are you supposed to play if you can't survive? I understand (and am all for) a challenge, but come on...

I can't believe I paid $50 bucks for this game...it is slow, awkward, poor mouse response, and it takes forever to get anything done. Either you are walking around talking to other NPCs or you're fighting some impossible monsters. It is difficult to gather points for leveling up...and so it makes the whole thing seem just...endless.
I've been playing it now for approx 30 hours...thinking, this HAS got to get better. It never did. I uninstalled and moved on...I recommend you do the same.
You'll love it

Okay, so this game got pushed out the gate a bit on the early side, but despite some quirky behavior (e.g., crashing to desktop if your party uses the World Map while a bard's singing, monsters spawning inside walls, ranger's entangle spell working a bit TOO well, etc.), I've found this game to be an addictive squad-level tactical dungeon crawl where I've managed my fledgling party through some utterly hairy fights. On one hand, this game requires a much longer attention span than what I was accustomed with Diablo II, but on the other hand, the party development and melee combats make for some rewarding gameplay.
I suspect the diehard D&D-ers may balk at the questionable and/or buggy implementation of the pen&paper rules, but for someone whose last D&D rulebook was the early 80's AD&D Dungeonmaster's Guide, I'm still finding ToEE an enjoyable experience.
Great rendition

I have been a big fan of computer RPGs for years (Forgotten Realms, Wizardry, Ultima, Diablo etc.) and I have say this is an awesome recreation of the classic ToEE module. The level of character detail and the stunning graphics are amazing. Game play does get a bit sluggish (Im on a P4 1.8 w/ 500 MB RAM and 128 nVidia AGP) as the number of combatants increases and there are a few programming bugs (all should be curable with patches). This game is still well worth the ~$40 US and I would love to see the Slaver, Giants, Drow, and other classic D&D modules made with this engine also.
Beware!

I ignored the reviews and bought this game. Big Mistake! Almost unplayable and certainly not fun at all.
Hasbro and Wizards (the owners of the brand) should be embarressed by this product. Atari did an incredibly lousy job.
