This game breaks the realistic barrier.It was very realistic like how u heal by leaning against the wall or the fighting gameplay blood health guns language everything is soo realistic. The storyline is prety cool the action is awesome in that u can shoot blindly,break necks, stealth, etc....... the only bad thing was that the levels were not very different from each other. Its always drive here kill some guys and leave.Or drive here sneak around drive away. and it can get hard at times but its very addicting and even though their arent many weapons(4) it is cool how u use them. There is bad language but hey thats how gangsters talk. Over all this deserves a 4 and even though its kinda short i still play it.

closest thing to real you're gonna get. forget all the bad things you've read. ie driving on the "wrong" side of the road, terrible streets. could they straighten the streets and drive on the right and still call it london? as for leaning against the wall , remember, the game is like a movie. how many heroes get shot, but still carry on and conquer in the movie?

The game is alot of fun,this game cant be compared to GTA Vice City because its different, but it can be compared GTA 3.I think The Getaway is better than GTA3,OVERALL this game is worth the money!!!...

the Getaway is one of a kind, you play as an exgang member doing dirty work for the ganglord in the gang (like a Godfather in the mafia)this game has some real cars a civic, an accord, nissans, and couple lexuses this game is based in london so get ready for streets goning the oppsite way if you dont remeber that you'll be in deep,the only reason I gave the getaway afour is because of the many cons and here they are;
1. most missons are to hard for the normal gamer
2.cops get on you for the smallest thigs
3.no check points for more than half of then misson
4.only a few guns
5.gamplay is timed in alot of missons
6.very little amount of cheats
7.very,very long cutscences
well with a game with so much cons there have to be some pros right well here they are;
1.real cars with realistic crashes
2.play as a exgangmember trying to get his son back or as a cop
3.realistic car chases and relistic was to get em` off your back
4. can hold the pistol and the cop machine gun two a once(one in each hand)
5.in this you have many ways to destory things for example you can break someones neck or just hit em` on the head with a baseball bat
6.a secret tank lurkes somwhere in the huge level
7.in the game when you are a cop you are outside the law you can shoot a cops if you want to and they will not go after you well maybe the exception of the cop you are shooting really in london streets go oppsite ways big ben is there and so is the buckingham palace the only reason that i gave this game a four instead of a five is because of all the cons

Great game since GTA.Asome graphics,and the detail is great.Having two hand guns is great but you can't have two big guns like a shotgun and AK47.Takeing people hostage is great so if you got cops on you they woun't shoot.The Bad things 1.You can't skip cut scenes. 2.Only three types of guns. 4.The cars aren't great like no motercycles and when you hijack cars its just not like GTA like the possibilitys of differn't cars.Being able to go against walls is cool and ducking then just shooting wherever.The graphics are asome along whith the sound.You may try the level 20 times and not beat it so the game is realy chalenging.Its realistic by not knowing when your going to die so you just lean on a wall and not knowing when you will run out of ammo.The game does say the f word like every 5 minutes but if you don't care it would be fine then

Although many people believed that this game would be a Grand Theft Auto copycat, The Getaway is definately not. It is very different from Grand Theft Auto. The driving is different, there isn't as much mindless running around and shooting people. The plot isn't that new: a guy's wife is killed and his son is kidnapped for randsome. It is also a lot of fun to play through the plot as two different characters. Basically, if you aren't so sure about The Getaway, rent it first. But believe me, this game is at least worth playing.

I have three words for this game, action, action, action. A lot of weapons and quick shooting. Settings are a little dark in color and cussing is present. There is a lot of violence and even some torture. Not for the real young and sensitive.

When I originally played the demo of this game I had just spent 4 months playing GTA Vice City, and while it looked great, the game play was no match, so I forgot about it. About a month later I bought the game because I cannot control myself in those darn game stores. Let me tell you after playing the game and experiencing the story, I admit I was dead wrong. This game is incredible on so many levels I can't tell you. I'm reading other reviews and people are mad because there are no maps, but this really does make the driving sequences that much more exciting because your not so familiar with your surroundings. The only thing I might add to the next game is the ability to look behind as you drive. The on foot parts do take some getting used to, but once you do it's no problem. The FMV parts are excellent and even though you can't skip through them, I think they are worth watching over again just to appreciate all the WORK that went into this game. I also want to thank those who made this game, you are very talented and deserve some kind of award. The future of gaming is looking awesome!!

Good Game But

This is quite a good game but gets very annoying after a while. You do 12 missions with Mark Hammond and 12 with D.C. Carter. The story starts off when Hammond's wife is killed and his kid is kidnapped. The people that kidnapped your kid make you do missions with them, you mess with the Jamaicans, the triads etc etc. The graphics are amazing but the game will get on your nerves. 1 thing is that how does a cop car catch up to a Nissan Skyline which has 400+ HP. The cops easily catch up to any car. Their are many cars in this game and some hidden cars that are a bit tricky to find. Some of the singles that the arrow give you are @ times wrong and you have to make a U-Turn to go back. Ok now when you start off with D.C. carter the game gets a lot easier from mission 14-19 you can do in 1 hour and a half. I did enjoy playing this game 1 time but this game will collect dust after you beat it. I don't really mind getting this game because it was a gift. Stick to Hitman 2 and VC. Both are amazing games.

This is really a great game and I would recommend buying it! If you like plenty of action, blood, gore and can tolerate some pretty rough dialog (foul language), hey this game is for you! Of course you have to drive the streets of London, you know, where they drive on the "wrong" side of the street and that alone takes some getting use to! There are scores of "baddies" to shoot at and always a new mission to tackle. I am still learning this game at this writing. I feel that you have to devote some time to this game if you are to succeed, but you get a good sense of accomplishment when you are victorious in a mission!! Recommend buying it!! Action and adventure await you!!
