Spidey's Antics

If you ever wanted to feel like what it was like in Spiderman's shoes, Spiderman 2 by Activevision is one of the closest experiences you'll ever have. Following the plot of the movie fairly closely, with a couple of irritating detours, you get to swing from the buildings in a virtual New York that's expansive and fun. The thing that impressed me the most was having total control of Spiderman, and if a challenge proved to be too pesky, I could restart that chapter from the beginning and swing around town until I went back to the challenge. If I earned points for everytime I went to the top of the Empire State Building and swan dived off from it, I'd have won the game earlier. Kudos to the Activevision people for making a truly enjoyable romp!

Spiderman 2

This will be the sequel to the spiderman game that come out in 2002 on all the platforms.This sequel will give players new moves and will also have new enemies to battle Dr.Octopus,Lizard,Electro and others.Spidey will also be able to save normal everyday citizens on the street.Instead of an arrow to guide spiderman he will be guided by a map and spiderman will be able to go any where in the city without being restricted.The cameras will also be improved upon.This is expected for release any where from May to July maybe sooner and will be on all consoles ps2,xbox and gamecube.

This game is incredible because not only does it use GTA mechanics to get around new york, not only do you get to swing ON BUILDINGS and NOT in THIN AIR *coughprevious-spidermangamescough*, not only do you get to run on the streets and rooftops whenever you please, not only can you do more super human moves like cooler, simpler combos *coughspidermanthemoviecough*, not only can you collect ENDLESS tokens scattered across new york, not only can you help citizens from saving guys on a seenking boat to thugs holding up an armored car robbery, Not only that this is the most free roaming spiderman game ever made with this time mostly outdoor environment taking place in the story *coughprevious-spidermangamescough*, but now you get to take on a never ending adventure with your host which is of coarse your friendly neighborhood spiderman! Here are my pros. and cons. below.

PROS.
*Better, more controlable swinging
*Ability to run faster, climb faster, and swing faster
*protect new york from thugs on roofs, muggers stealing womens purses, people falling off buildings, and more

*Boss fights are fun, yet most easy
*buy upgrades by earning hero points
* find secret tokens all over new york and challenge races in secret spots as well
*the story never gets old
*do wickedly awsome combos when in slow motion fighting enemies!
*Dive off the empire state building and commit suicide!
*UNLIMITED CONTINOUS
*for the first time...UNLIMITED WEBBING!
*throw crooks in the water or off buildings
*no repetitive one-liners
*funny one-liners (gee ya didnt see that coming) such as when you fight Rhino, sometimes spiderman will say "Now im starting to see why rhinos are endangered." that one made me laugh
* Fight your favorite bosses such as rhino, mysterio, doc ock, and more!
*story is exciting adding alot of replay value
*You meet and team up with BLACK CAT!
*Cool music
*Bruce Cambell is back and is funny as hell

CONS
*No more web zipping (boohoo)
*not the best graphics for this era
*helping citizens gets pretty old
*collecting tokens and doing races is just stupid after you beat the story mode
*game gets repetitve after playing it a few hours straight but its fun all over again once you play later
*not alot of music
* thugs can be mildly cheap when in groups because of their enchanced blocking! Oh, and since when could a thug give spidey a little push, sending him flying in the air about 20 feet, crashing into the ground?
*The story is pretty easy, you might die here or there but the only parts that should really be a pain in the ass is when you gotta stop the mutha F*ckin sonic boom generator thingy...and the last level (not fighting doc ock but the *other* part before it)
*The rest of the bosses are way too easy like the pathetic joke with mysterio and rhino...man even though you getta fight him in the streets, he was funner in the first spiderman for the PS1 and n64 cuz now he twirls this giant can like a retard spinning with a condum the size of a traffic cone.
*The cut-scenes are cool but SUCK compared to what happens in the movie

So I think now you get a pretty clear idea what kinda game spiderman 2 is... Right? Oh, you don't? well, try UNDERSTANDING the pros. an cons. this time. Anywho, its worth the $50 so go get it! its aviable for Xbox, GC, an PS2. I have the PS2 version and played the xbox version at my friends house...beat both of them..heheh.. well, the only difference really is the controls. Hey, why you still reading this? Go Now! Oh, an while your at it, see spiderman 2 if you havent already. So go, take spiderman 2 for a spin...Take New York for a spin.

I was looking at this game, i checked out some of the reviews and i just really think that most of you people have no lives. Seriously, they say " i played for 15 hours straight and it gets boring", that's because you played for 15 hours straight, not because it's boring!! If you have a real life, you won't play for 15 hours and ruin the game in two days. I just had to say that.

Spidey climbs the scale of coolness

This game is deffinetly going to blow everyone away. There are going to be four villians. Doc Ock, Lizard, Mysterio, and Shocker. Black cat will aslo have an appearance. Spidey's combat has been much improved. Instead of only being able to web up one thug at a time, you can now stop a whole gang in its tracks. Also, Spidey's web swinging has been tweaked a bit. Well actually a lot. Its pretty much point where you want to go. You can swing from the trees in central park to the statue of liberty. Speaking of the statue of liberty you can now atattch a web to a helicopter a take a ride over that big girl. Web in combat will be a huge factor in the game. Not only can you tangle up thugs but you can launch them in the air and swing them over your head rodeo stlye. Also the game is based on fluidity. the action never stops. If you are swinging and land on a building you can either slide down the face of it or star climbing. While you play, the game will go from day to night. There is also so a clock on a building that tells you the game's time. All in all this game will rock and i cant wait until june 29th.

Grand Theft Spider

This is a GREAT, GREAT game. As opposed to the last Spiderman game, this one is totally open ended: You can roam over a (somewhat less than full scale) map of Manhattan, stopping random crimes and accepting challenges on your way to starting the next 'mission' in advancing the story line. The controls take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of the new web-swinging you'll be zipping around, climbing to the top (and I mean the top) of the Empire State building, and doing power dives off, only to spin another line at the last minute, knocking out the bad guys in mid flight then hanging their webbed bodies from a lamp post. You can do it all in this game.

First of all anyone who faults this game for being too much like GTA is a sourpuss!! The reason for the success of games "like GTA" is because gamers love non-linear games that allow for free roaming in huge environments. Developers have taken notice of this and consequently more games are built using this type of game play. So, don't knock it!! Having said that please note that I do not own Spider-man 2 so any "owner-bias" arguments can end NOW.

Now that my disclaimers are out of the way I can talk about what a great game this is. This game is truly the best spider-man simulation to date. The web-swinging system (has a bit of a learning curve) gives you more control over where Spidey swings than ever before. The fighting system has been bulked up with tons of unlockable combos. The game itself is not chained to the movie in that you will a lot more of Spidey's traditional villains then just Doc Oct. The game is challenging but not "controller hurlingly" so. You are able to swing around all of New York which is a plus for those familiar with the city. The voice acting is done well but somehow I will never get used to Toby McGuire as a wise-cracking Spidey.

Finally the only knock I have against the game is when it comes to the fatality of water. What, Spidey can bring down the largest of super-villains but he can't swim?!! I could understand death from falling from a skyscraper into the Hudson but when I accidentally fell into a pond in Central Park I had to shut the game off for awhile.

Overall an excellent title and a must have for even passive Spidey fans!!

I watched this game trailer,read all the reviews and seen all the screenshots.This is the coolest game I've seen to date.This is a dramtic change from the previous spider-man games.First of all,the swinging system is cool.Your webbing must stick to the building,causing you to fly into all these cool directions.Second,for the first time ever,you can go to the streets!You can save people,stop crooks,and a whole other stuff.The combo system has been updated to use multiple webs at any time.Rumors say that the game is over 20 hours long.BUY the game!!!!When it comes out,you won't be dissapointed!!
