I love this game!
MOHAA was my favorite shooting games until I played the demo of COD. As some reviewers said, it would be nice to have the German side experience. Also, it would be interesting to see how the multi-player vision going to look like.

be aware: if you are a student, don't play too hard during school days...... i failed a class last year by playing too much MOHAA.

I anxiously awaited the release of this game, hoping that it would live up to the hype generated by the publisher. Surprisingly it exceeded my expectations. It has great graphics, plenty of action and excellent playability. I was surprised that I loaded and played the game without any problems. I have a PC that barely meets the minimum requirements and it plays fine. To me it is as good if not better than the highly succesful Medal of Honor series. I hope to see expansion packs for COD. Be warned, this is about war and is very violent and graphically explicit. Fans of first person shooters will love this game.

Call of Duty is one of those war games that really puts you right into the battle. It's extremely realistic and the gameplay reflects that. The off-line missions are amazing, especially stalingrad. However the campaign is very short, You could finish the entire game in about 8 playing hours if you wanted to so unfourtunatly playing off-line doesn't offer lasting entertainment, But the online play is right up with Medal of Honor for best online play. If your a WWII fan interested in accurate realistic gameplay this is your game, but if your someone just looking for a long lasting fps I must warn about getting this.

Great game - but a tad short

One gripe: I wish that in the Russian campaign the soldiers spoke RUSSIAN (w/ English subtitles)! Overall it's a great game w/ great sound (headphones are a must!). Nice framerates on my avg system @ 800 x 600 w/ high textures.

Simply Put- Great World War II Game

Get in the boots of an average soldier in the Russian, British, and American army and head out onto the Battlefield to eliminate the German threat.

This brilliant masterpiece is what you buy a computer for. The graphics are possibly the best-to-be-seen. The character modles are VERY detailed, from facial expressions, to the characters talking. The landscapes are expansive and beautifully made.
The A.I of your team mates is very good. They don't run blindly into combat, but rather stick to cover. The enemy is also trained very well. Using some tactics, they will hunt you and your men down.
This game is the greatest WWII FPS to date. The only negative side of this game, is its very short. It took me a little over 4 days to complete the game on the Veteran Difficulty.

This game is VERY good. The missions are mostly authentic, the weapons are very good and the AI are challenging. The AI are NOT a bunch of dummies( except the Russian commissars,LOL).The maps are very authentic, and several are historically based, like the Americans at St. Mere Eglise, The British at the Pegasus bridge, and the Stalingrad missions. Several allied missions somewhat approach the fanciful, like sabotaging the Tirpitz, but are still very fun.I wish they had included more missions, but this still doesn't detract from the gameplay. The authenticity of the weapons is great. The game is very challenging and completely fun. This is something you can't stop playing.

Call of Duty is one immaculate game. I have been playing CoD now for about a week and I just beat the last level, Berlin. I too have read reviews for this game and some hit the nail of the head others missed and hit their own fingers. This game has one thing that all other WWII games attempt but can never actually accomplish. Realism. Now all the other games have realism controls, Ex. shadows, blood, gore, that kind of stuff. CoD has none of this. The game does not make the game less violent, and lets face it, war is violent. Soldiers on the front cannot make the enemy they shoot magically not sprout blood.
Now lets get down to the real review. The actual game play is very satisfying. The levels are never too complicated or too simple. That is one great thing about this game. Your in the middle of a firefight and you think "this is so incredibly easy" and all of the sudden a tank pops out and you must destroy it. Or vice versa. The game does not make rash changes in play like one second your doing something, the next second your doing completely different thing. The highlights of the game play in my perspective was the first campaign. Fighting as a 506th paratrooper, you relive what the brave men did that morning. I have read many reviews saying the Soviet levels were the best in the game. No offense but they did not appeal to me as much. I think the D-Day level better represented the games main idea of the whole game. The D-Day level was nearly all squad fighting with a few exceptions. The Stalingrad levels were more you surrounded by unknown soldiers while you trail a Sgt. At sometimes the Soviet games were squad-based but the squad members tended to run out and charge more. Maybe the Soviets were braver and more war-crazed than we (U.S.) were. And yes, I do know that they were pretty much forced to do this but there were no Commissars watching us or Stalin breathing down our backs.
Oh yea back to reviewing. The game had a fresh feel to it that hopefully all other games will try to use. The squad based fighting was really great and they did help not just shoot you in the back (Medal Of Honor, morons!) The feature that made me say "whoa" was the fact that blood misted into the air when people were shot.
Another important thought, don't write a review if you make fun of a good game, you'll look stupid. I read one review where quote "the paratroopers looked like midgets running across the field attacking the guns. Well since no one else has I will. That reviewer was a _ _ _ _hole that doesn't appreciate what the men did back then. I would like to see him run straight up with 100 extra pounds of gear on while being shot at.

Pros:
Game play (exc ellent)
Graphics (Stalingrad was amazing)
Sound (get a good pair of speakers or headphones for this game)
Weaponry (I haven's seen any one else mention this, but they sounded very realistic)

Cons
Game length (yes it was a little short but 11 hours is not bad (Medal Of Honor Breakthrough , Spearhead, duh)
British Levels (The British levels except Pegasus Bridge, were rather boring, they did more than commando, highlight that maybe next time?)

Finally, this was a great game. Buy the game and keep playing it until you can't stand it. Then, take a break and play some more. And if you're cheap, wait the price WILL go down.
