A bit inconsistent, but it makes up for it.

I was worried when Call of Duty came out, because i was a big fan of the Battlefield: 1942 series. I bought this game, hoping that it would give me more to play in the genre of WWII games. It is truly a wonderful video game. It gets extremely intense. In the first level, you set up a beacon, then U.S. Paratroopers fall out of the sky, and all hell breaks loose. It has a truly great story line, and the sound is beautiful. But, the only problem i have is with the graphics. I will admit it, I dont have a supercomputer, (you dont need a supercomputer, either) I have a three year old Dell. But, the graphics on the intro are a bit iffy, the pixels are huge. And in the tutorial, the graphics arent as great as I had expected, with reading the reviews of the game in magazines, and all. But, as the game progresses, the graphics take a major step up, but then on the loading screens, the graphics arent too hot, though. If you like the world war two genre, then go ahead, this game isnt worth it. But if you dont love WWII games, then i would wait for the price to go down to about $30. (dont worry. Its worth the $50)
It's ok...

This game has it's ups and downs like every other game does. The thing I liked mainly about the game is the Multiplayer. But the Single Player levels feel small and incomplete. Also i'm playing on a brand new pretty fast computer, and I have all the settings turned to the lowest and there is still some lag. Overall I probably wouldn't have purchased this game if I had already played it before hand.
Amazing

The single player mode was easy and quick to beat. I was thinking of forgetting about it like I did with other games where I beat the single player mode. Then I learned of the amazing multiplayer feature. The multiplayer mode is better than the single player mode. I can't stop playing.
A good action game that lacks in the historical department

The game overall is a great action game, based off of the Quake 3 engine it looks good and it plays good on most computers, the singleplayer mode is that of putting yourself into the shoes of three soldiers, a russian a american and from what I think is a english man, although he could be any one of the nationalities of the UK, historically speaking the accounts taken are semi-accurate, namely the american and british ones, but the russian SP missions are innacurate to say the least, it's taken directly from the movie enemy at the gate which is also a hollywoodized version of the actual eastern front. Multipleplayer is a standard death match shoot very close to that of medal of honor and quake 3 death matchs.
Overall good game, but unaccurate.

Call of Duty is now the best WWII FPS out there! I am playing Call of Duty on an Alienware Gaming PC and it runs awesome! Now, I know most of you guys think that Call of Duty is so short. Well, it's only short if you play on the easiest difficulty and play 24/7. I mostly play on the weekends. And hey, I play on the second to hardest difficulty and I'm not even finished with the 1st Campaign yet! But, overall Call of Duty is awesome. This is a MUST for WWII FPS gamers!

One of the best first-person shooters I have ever seen. Amazingly realistic World War II action. Planting explosives, firing anti-tank weapons, shooting from a speeding truck, etc., etc. Your buddies are there helping you. Some levels quite difficult. Great game.
It does'nt seem to agree with my PC nor my Radeon 9800...

I got a chance to finish this game one time all the way through, but this was before my system had problems with this game, like freezing up in certain seens on the game. I still can't figure out what the problem is of why the game freezes up on my PC, I have a Dell 8200 running a P4 at 2.60Ghz and 1gig of RDRAM PC800, Radeon 9800 All in wonder card. I'm still trying to figure out how to work around this, I have the latest drivers on all my hardware.
This is a great game, and there's a 90% chance it will work on your PC. Me, I've mostly been a Metal of Honor fan, never had no problems running that game. This one is fun if you can get it to run in max graphics without freezing up.

This game is defintely the most intenese, realistic, and sometimes terrifying ww2 shooter game ever. Its hard to play for longer than a half an hour because its so intense. The game is kinda short but not as short as i thought it would be. Personally i think this is the only shooter besides Halo to buy on any system.

I am a more mature gamer and like the realistic sims, RPG and FPS type games. I played the demo first and then bought the full version and it has been a lot of fun. When you are playing a game, but you are hesitant to look around the next corner and your heart rate goes up anticipating being shot at - you are in the game. The controls are quick and easy to master. The graphics occassionally leave a hand or other article halfway through a wall, but overall they aren't bad. The range of difficulty levels is good allowing you to get shot a lot at the entry level and only taking two hits or so at Veteran level. It really gives you a good appreciation for what it would have felt like to be in some of those WWII engagements.
