My wife hates this game, because I play hours at a time any chance I get. The single player game is excellent, and this is the first game with an online/multiplayer version good enough to get me hooked since Whacked came out for Xbox. The latest patch by Activision still doesn't keep out the hacks/cheaters, which are increasing in numbers every day, but the game is so smooth in play and control that it's worth putting up with the occasional adolescent cheat. It puts Battlefield Vietnam to shame (bought, tried, and returned within four days).
Best WW2 game ever made!!!

This is the most relistic WW2 game i've ever played. I love the huge wepons choice and the charecters like Captin Foley are so cool.I Love that it tells you the guys names when you point to them. I can play that game all day trying to save different people. I love that it lets you be the U.S. the British and the Russins. This game is I think alot more reilistic than the Medal Of Honor games but this game is a little too relistic and some times it gets a little boring. But over all the game is great!!

The makes of this games, use to be the previous makers of the Medal of Honor series, and it blew it away. This game lived up to the title that was bestowed upon it. Also, if you are a multi-player, it is even better. The multi-player mode for this game is the best multi-player game that I have ever played.

Call of Duty represents a huge step forward in war gaming. From the opening screen the graphics pull you into the game-color and three dimensional solidity are astounding and the game's pace, challenges and solutions are extraordinary. After many hours and a lot of fun with Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942,Blitzkrieg and many others, this game outranks them in every aspect. It's not easy to play but you can quickly resume the game from the last demise and try again. The scenarios change from American to British to Russian. The opening Russian scene is stolen from Enemy at the Gates except that you are one of the unfortunates in a boat crossing the river to relieve Stalingrad. When that sequence is over your pride of achievement will be powerful. If this is the future of war gaming then we will all be in for some great PC time.
Shell Shock:Best WWII FPS EVER!!!! Still A Little Short

This game is absolutely increadible. I've played all the WWII first person shooters, from Battlefield 1942 to MOH to Return to castle Wolfenstein, and this is absolutely my favorite. It's much quicker paced than BF1942, and much more realistic than Wolfenstein. The "aim down the sight" feature is a long time coming for first person shooters, and the "shell shock" is great. The only thing that kept this game from hitting 5 stars for me, was its length. I'm halfway done the game and I've only been playing for about 5 total hours. But don't let that stop you from checking it out. Also, for all you LAN party enthusiasts out there, This game has increadible multi-player support, and makes for really fun LAN party play. In short, this is the game that I wanted Battlefield 1942 to be. I cant wait for an expansion pack.
loved it

I must say, i truly did enjoy this game to the fullest. however, for the $$$, the game was too short. MoHAA seemed longer. I can't knock the game in terms of graphics, immersion factor, etc....but it would be nice if "Infinity Ward" released a FREE expansion pack with a few extra missions, i know dream on but it should be done.
Excellent Heir to MOHAA

I suppose that comparisons to MOHAA are inevitable. However, I really like this game a lot. The teamwork aspect of it really comes though most of the time. The opening scene and mission are great. You sneak through enemy lines, only fighting a few enemies, until you meet your fellow troopers. Then BAM you are in the middle of a raging firefight. It's one of the most intense gun battles I have scene involving at least 20 or so characters, all moving and fighting around you at once. I found that you really have to think out your attacks in this game. Of course, there's a lot of Hollywood in this game, and several scenes are blatant ripoffs of movies such as "Private Ryan", "Enemy at the Gates" and "A Bridge Too Far". One mission stands out. As a British airborne trooper, you and your men must hold off Nazi armor and soldiers from a bridge until reinforcements arrive. Wave after wave of nazis surround you, and you of course get low on ammo after a while, until you hear the stirring music and the Yanks arrive to bail you out. It's pretty intense. I admit I did not like a few of the levels - one on a dam and another on a battleship - which are Rambo-like FPS. Those who enjoyed MOHAA will fit right in. The weapon sounds are good, and you can even bring any weapon up to eye level for more accurate shooting. There's a lot of mayhem in this game, and thankfully no stealth missions. So far, the Russian missions are my favorite. The Stalingrad mission is brutal and intense, with vicious house to house fighting. One level "Pavlov's House" is really vicious - you pay for every single step you take with no breathing room, not even a few seconds. This game really keeps you on your toes. I can see why this game has been so popular.
If you want a WWII simulation, this is it.

I think that this is the most realistic of all WWII games I've played. The sound, the graphics, the gameplay... it really makes you feel like you're part of the game! That's hard to do in a game, but the developers did a great job. The AI is one of my favorite parts; you actually have to play with your team, especially in single player. In single player, for instance, your teammates will take cover, throw gernades, pick up extra ammo and sometimes give you some of their own ammo. The enemies are a bit stupid, but they're smart in the sense that if you shoot at them, they'll take cover and wait until you stop shooting and they think it's safe.
My new addiction!

I read about this game on the internet before I bought it and I thought it looked cool. I got it this Christmas and now I can't stop playing. It is the best fps (first person shooter) i have ever played. It has the best graphics, the most historically accurate weapons, and is the most realistic of all WWII games. And, not only is there a great (but kinda short) single player mode, but you can also play online with other people and your freinds. This game is a must for any video game fanatic.
Amazing WWII Shooter

One of the best games of 2003. Graphics are just stunning considering that they're using the Quake III engine. The playability and the feeling of comradely while playing the game is what I liked the most about this game. I especially like the multiplayer portion of the game. Online game play is the best and most fun when all your teammates play actually as a team and not solo Rambos. The game is designed pretty well to really bring out this teamwork.
