Resident evil you have done it again! wonderful game to play very addictive and some parts make me jump. although its not really that scary but its creepy and tensive :) so have fun you wont regret it

US version of RE4 is quite excessive.
It's really greater than japanese one.
Now get an extreme excitement & ecstacy!!

I don't have much to say that people haven't said already. So...I'll just say that this game is really, really fun! Even if you're not typically a fan of the horror game genre.

This review pertains to the PS2 version.

I was kind of skeptical when I played this game because it was so different from the typical RE. But in this case, change is for the better. This game has everything that any Resident Evil or action/adventure fan could want: lots of violence, long involving gameplay, and extreme replay value.

Graphically, this is some of the best work the aging PS2 can do. The atmosphere is dark and disturbing while character animation and detail is accurate and life-like. Explosions and enemy reactions to damage done are a solid treat to the eyes. And the gore can't get any redder.

Resident Evil has a reputation for containing cheesy voice acting and while there are few scenes that were sort of awkward, the voice acting is very well done and all voices sound like they naturally belong to each character. I like how enemies shout out at their comrades indicating that you're in their presence and they're about to kill you. The music sets the tense and uneasy mood as always.

This game controls similiar to the previous games in the series. Novices and veterans will be able to pick up and play right away. Those who are new to Resident Evil will need to adjust to the game's style of play but I can't imagine it would take long because the controls are very solid. The level of balance is about perfect. There are points in the game that are frustrating and you'll find yourself dying quite a bit. But if you keep trying, you'll eventually get past them.

The replay value is excellent. Not only do you get a boatload of extras when you beat the game, you'll want to play the game through over and over again because it's just a lengthly but very fast moving game. It's just that much fun.

The storyline tends to deviate from the storyline in past REs. But nevertheless, several references are made to the previous games and this installment serves as an interesting continuation of the series. The story is compelling and keeps you wanting to know what happens next. I recommend this game to any PS2 or GC owner.

This game will be hard for RE5 for PS3 to top. But with the right time and resources invested, it should hopefully be a winner.

I bought this game as a gift for my son for Christmas. He's a teenager with lots of video game experience. He couldn't stop raving about how much he loved this game. I got a great deal and very fast delivery. Thanks for your help, Santa!

I actually bought this game soon as it came out for PS2 for 50 dollars. I kept puting off playing it so one day I finally sat down to play it. Wow, this game blew me away!! The graphics are the best i have seen and the Pro Logic sound makes it come alive on any surround sound system. A great purchase for me and hopefully any PS2 owner.

Resident Evil 4 For the PlayStation 2 wow when i purchased this and i played it i was amazed this game i think is worth the money and the time Leon objectives are to save the president's dauther Ashley Graham, Leon is headed to Europ to a village where Ashley was last seen taking away by hordes. i really liked this story line it was the best Resident Evil game ever just wait till Resident Evil 5 comes out. i own every RE game for the PlayStation and all the games for PlayStation 2

RE4 for the PS2 is an incredible game. The graphics are some of the best that you will find on the console. The story line itself is a reason to buy. There is so much fun to be had while playing this game. Theres a guy who you can buy weapons and weapon upgrades from. Thats the only really downside about this game. You keep upgrading but eventually your weapons are too powerful. One shot kills a boss, that doesnt seem right.
