BEST First-Person Video Game EVER!!!!!!

It takes me few hours before I got hang of the game play, then I stay up all night playing. I have never stay up to play video game, not even my finals in college. anyway, great story, great graphic, great camera angle ( did not give me any motion sickness), overall a AWSOME game, which set the standard again for others to follow. But to be honest, if there is one thing negative about this game is the terror factor which is missing in this action packed adventure!!!!!!

EVEN BETTER THAN THE GAMECUBE VERSION

This was an awsome game. This game was real fun, leon had to find ashley thorugh the horrific mission he was in. As the story continued he had to battle not zombies but people with viruses, he had to fight he's way through a creepy yet thrilling mission to find ashley. When i first played this game it was great from the begining, it starts of with leon driveing a car with 2police men then they let leon out and leon explored the woods thinking he was not alone, he went inside a house a found a man that wanted to kill him but that did'nt happen. The 2police officers were being attacked by the people with viruses then there car crashed in the water, leon went outside to wonder what was going on then the people with the viruses was trying to attack him but luckly he had a gun. He then walked over to where the crash was and he found the car but the 2police men were not in it either he was thinking they were flushed away by the water or the people took them. Continueing the story he was walking he's way out the woods but more of the people came and wanted to kill him but leon was loaded with action and got through in anything that stood in he's way, he then came out the woods and founded the 2police officers hanging on a branch burning, then he new their was shelters around him with the people with the viruses in them, then a chainsaw guy came in the party but leon fought he's way through him to. He went inside a shelter and pushed something to hold the door then he ran upstairs then found a shotgun a grenads the people used the latters to get upstairs were he was but he jumped out the window and was waiting for them to show, killing one by one on the roof, after he got passed that part he went to a door and saw a symbol hole, the could'nt open without the symbol in place of the door so he had to find a way to get the symbol. He saw a door he did'nt no was there then opened it and he was in a farm and fought he's way through to get passed then he opened another door and he was in a graveyard and the people with the viruses were there to. Their was a symbol on the door like the other one but different shape, so he walked over the brige and the people were their trying to attack him but he got passed, he opened a door and the people relesed a big ugly monster to kill leon that part was fun. Leon was shooting the monster then a dog came and distracted the monster giving leon the chance for advantege to attack withoutthe monster seeing him. Their's more but this was a great fun game.

I got this as a gift for Christmas, expecting it to be awesome based on all the reviews I read, and especially after playing Resident Evil 2 a few years back. However, it was a major disappointment. Right from the beginning, they give you very little ammo to work with, and it's one thing to have to learn to conserve ammo, but a whole different thing when you're attacked by up to 14 zombies in stage 1 all at one time, and are constantly just trying to hang on by a thread of life to find bullets (using a knife won't help when 3+ are after you at a time).

One other major issue I have is that if you take a large amount of damage in one level, and barely survive to make it to the next one, you start with that same life level. Unfortunately, if you save to maintain your progress, a reload starts you with whatever life you had, which REALLY sucks if you've already used available refills of life prior to this point...you're basically stuck with a saved game at a point where you'll have to survive with no refills and instant death if anyone touches you. And, should you die and choose to continue, to get put right back at the beginning of the level or last save point, with the same sliver of life you had before. You're basically stuck going back to square one and starting all over again.

The graphics are impressive, but not enough to make this game worth having, as it's more frustrating than anything else.

5 stars? Are you kidding?

This is, by far, the worst Resident Evil game in the series. Fighting a village full of crazies to save the president's daughter has WHAT, exactly, to do with zombies or survival horror? Fighting a big fish in a row boat? Yeah, that's real "scary". RE4 has managed to completely remove the horror element from "survival horror". And it's looking like it's going to be the same with RE5. Epic fail. Save your money or buy something from the Fatal Frame series.

You'll know Resident Evil 4 for decades. If you think resident evil 4 sucks, well, f*ck u! This game kicks so much ass! This one is better than the gamecube version. This is the best RE game ever created. The graphics are great and the gameplay kicks ass! A lot of unlockables are to be unlocked. There are many reasons to play Resident Evil 4 over and over again. But, don't forget to leave your hand on the controller during cutscenes or you will die! If u have a PS2, get this or you might as well kill yourself. Buy it now! Dont talk, just buy it NOW! NOW!NOW!NOW!

Very surprised at the poor controls

This is the first Resident Evil game I've tried and was quite surprised that the controls were this poor. I had heard nothing but positive reviews on RE4. Most all of them containing remarks on how they finally got the controls right in contrast to eariler RE games. Those earlier games must of been close to completely unplayable. But you'll have to excuse me I guess. I just finished playing games like Halo, Halo 2, FarCry, and many other recent 1st person and 3rd person action games whose controls are flawless or close to it. There is really no excuse in this day and age to have controls this horrible. If the controls were done this way on purpose to heighten the suspense or something, perhaps the makers of this game should have just simply made a better game to accomplish this. Poor controls = No Fun.

Is not that good

Too bad that they released RE4 on the PS2, GazmeCube Graphics are a lot better, GamePlay and Control are the worst on PS2, GameCube is more Handy, I recomend buying the GameCube version instead

THIS GAME IS UNPLAYABLE AFTER JUST 5 MINS PLAYING IT I HAD TO STOP CAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL SICK AND DIZZY FROM THE GAME PLAY MOVEMENT.EVEN MY GF WHO WAS WATCHING ME PLAY IT GOT SICK AND DIZZY FROM JUST WATCHING THE SCREEN.THE OTHER RESIDENT EVIL GAMES ARE JUST FINE I PLAYED THEM FOR HOURS AND NEVER ONCE GOT DIZZY OR FELT SICK FROM THEM.BUT THIS ONE IS LIKE MEDAL OF HONOR FOR ANY OF YOU WHO PLAYED MEDAL OF HONOR YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.IT MAKES YOU SICK AND DIZZY PLAYING IT.DON'T KNOW WHY THE MAKERS OF THIS GAME COULDN'T KEEP IT LIKE THE NEW AND IMPROVED RESIDENT EVIL FOR GAMECUBE.THE FACT THAT THIS GAMES MOVEMENT MAKES YOU SICK AND DIZZY MAKES THIS UNPLAYABLE AND THAT IS A MAJOR FLAW.

Now, here's the kicker: Do you want this game on PS2? Especially if you already have the Gamecube version? Well, let's find out shall we? How about a little versus here.

First of all, the graphics. It's no contest here, the Gamecube version wins because of it's excellent lighting and framerate. There are points in the PS2 version where it lags and just all around doesn't look as good. This is mostly due to the PS2 being released in 2000, and it's realy starting to show it's age now. Graphic wise, the Playstation 2 version just isn't as good. Plus, the Gamecube version ran much much smoother. It's the little things about the PS2 version that stick out, such as how enemies are just... uglier and more blotchy.

Now what about the gameplay? Well, we can't accurately compare these two. It depends on what you're looking for. The PS2 version is certainly harder, throwing in more enemies in certain areas. The aiming system that made it incredible on the Gamecube is back, and it's just about the same. In all essence, the gameplay on PS2 is exactly the same. However, I CAN rightfully give it to the PS2 version because the control scheme is just all around easier than the Gamecube version. Simple to learn, and easy to use.

It's no contest that the PS2 has more secrets and extras to unlock. The most rewarding being "Separate Ways". Gamecube version had "Assignment Ada" but "Separate Ways" which is a side story featuring Ada, is just as good. The PS2 version also has new weapons to unlock and more costumes.

The storyline remains the same, the presidents daughter is kidnapped and it's up to CIA agent Leon S. Kennedy to go to the mysterious village and save her.

Sound wise, again, is a tie. Both versions sound exactly the same in all aspects including voice acting (which is terrific).

Basically, the PS2 version is like receiving a special edition DVD to one of your favorite movies of all time. The downgraded graphics are no problem. "Separate Ways" on it's own does make this version worth a buy. Other than that, the Gamecube version is a little more superior as far as presentation. But the extras do make the PS2 version worthwhile.

In other words, it depends on what you're looking for. If you just want solid gameplay, get the Gamecube version (if you don't have it already). And when it comes to all those nifty secrets, the PS2 version is far superior... but note that there aren't THAT many new features, guys.

So it is worth it, even on the Playstation 2. If you already have the Gamecube version, I'd still pick up the PS2 version. You may even stumble upon things you missed on the 'cube.

Don't be turned away by the downgraded graphics, think of all the extras--especially Ada's "Separate Ways".
