Its back... better then ever..

Based on the previous engine, with more enviroments, destructible stages, more stage specific fatalitys, tons of new fatalitys per character... you can even suicide now, before your opponent "finshes" you... looks great.

New characters, old characters, and a new story mode. The trailer is up, and this game looks great....

this game is awesome; a must buy

Mortal Kombat Deception has new features and is even more bad ass then Defiance. There are new characters and more moves. You can be launched by your opponent through differant floors of the level which could mean more fighting or a plummit to certain death. Weapon pick ups make it possible to beat your opponent even more ferociously. Most or all characters have a new look to make them more intimadating and the graphics and sound will blow you away. Mortal Kombat Deception is a must have for 2004!

and this is coming from someone who plays almost ONLY rpgs.

the first day i played the game, i only played konquest mode and the puzzle game. it's so good, even the part of the game that isn't really THE GAME is great.

konquest mode in this game is WAY different than it was in deadly alliance. it's practically a VERY large game in itself...it even has storyline! i still haven't completed it.. i think i have over 5 hours on it.

the puzzle game is wicked fun. in fact, it may even be more addicting than tetris.

the chess game is a bit difficult to keep up with...it's not like regular chess. you actually have to fight a mortal kombat battle in order to take a piece. kind of confusing, but worth looking at anyway.

as for the actual game, it's great as well. the interactive backgrounds are my favorite thing about it. there's nothing more fun than knocking people into grinding blades, or knocking them off a REALLY high place...so they can fall on a sharp rock.

the kript is as annoying as usual, but it really makes you want to get koins, so you can get all the characters, and all that jazz.

as for everything else, graphics are great, pretty much the same as deadly alliance. gameplay is the same too, except in conquest mode. also, there's no jabbing a weapon into someone...which i think was just fine to take out. sounds and music is improved.

i have a feeling this game will keep me occupied longer than most rpgs i play. that disturbes me and makes me very happy at the same time. i suggest gettin on the ball and pickin this up.

Will be a great game!!!

For everyone that is giving this game a low rating, you all know nothing about MK. First off, the creators are keeping with the storylines, so some of the classic characters have been killed and will not return (at least, not all of them in 1 game). Secondly, there are more then 1 classic characters in this game (Lui Kang, Barraka, Kitana, Raiden, Scorpion) although some will have to be unlocked. Thirdly, the creators of MK had to change the way MK looked and played to keep up with the gaming community. You can still do the combos, fatalities, stage fatalities, etc. It just has a better look and much more replay value then the old MK. This game would go nowhere if it were to stay the same 2D way it was back in the day. This is not Streetfighter or anything like that, it is Mortal Kombat. I think the 3d aspect of it rocks. Makes fatalities look much more cooler.

All these low ratings that have been given are just people upset that they don't know enough about this game to give it a respectable rating.

Ok, so maybe I should rate this game from what I know from mutliple websites and movies I have seen.

Overall: 5 and I will tell you why

The reason I give it a 5 in Graphics is because the graphics are, well, great. Alot of the videos I have seen and screen shots show that the graphics are just like if not exactly the same as MK:DA (which I liked the graphics). I think there may be a little more gore in this one though :).

I could not rate the gameplay, sound, or controll due to the game not being released yet, but I am sure they will be great. I will let you all know this (and this has been proven), all the characters will have facial expressions during fatalities and such. Also, I don't think you have to worry about Adema being apart of this one either ;-).

I give an overall rating of 5 due to the simple fact that the MK team has improved upon everything that made MK:DA fun. More fatalities (2 for each character), stage fatalities, more characters, extra game modes, facial expressions, more interactive environments, and an overall more enjoyable experience. This game will be a must have.

P.S.
I also wanted to add that in Konquest mode, you will travel through many different realms (I think one of the designers said almost, if not, all of the realms ever mentioned in Mortal Kombat. Which means, you will be seeing most, if not all, the Mortal Kombat characters ever made. Another thing, you will see some characters in a prison stage that are in prison. So, some of the characters from past MK games may be in this prison. Look for them.

**SPOILER**
Just wanted to let all of you know that there will be 1 classic character that is going to be killed off in this game and will NEVER return to MK. I don't know who it is, but be ready for it.

Well ive been reading a lot about the game recently it seems like a good game with all the features added like death traps, minigames, etc. but what mk reject revenge said was right if the roster sucks whats the point of playing the game if they have lousy characthers in it but you have to remember that gameplay is an important factor so basically what iam saying is dont let what someone else says determine if you buy the game or not

reptile is in this game along with all your favorites. Reptile, however is now the dragon king. if you think that none of the favs are there well they are be they secret or there when you turn the game on. a great game

First I just want to say to the first reviewer-either you are a really annoying white guy that thinks he's black, or a black guy that takes being black to a rediculous level. Anyway, I played a demo of this game at the E3 Expo and it is awesome!! The graphics are amazing and the actual gameplay is smooth as silk YO! The new mini games are a redemption to the previous release which was really sad. There's alot of new cool characters, like the guy (can't remember his name) that has the blindfold on, he's a bada$$!! When it comes out, if you're skeptical, rent it, but you end up buying it as long as you have enough buds to play with or have a broadband connection. Either way, this blows away all previous titles.

After downloading and watching tens of movies about MK:deception
i think it will be the best mortal kombat ever.......because i liked mortal kombat deadly alliance when it released and thought it was the best MK till then,i liked the new system of the three fighting styles and the graphics and the new looks of mk fighters,but the things i didn't like in it were the few number of fatalities the game had (only one fatality for each chrachter and no stage fatalities !!!!) , also the konquest mode in MK:DA i felt like it was somekind like a training mode BUT in mortal kobmat deception i think the creators fixed the mistakes they did in MK:DA ( now each chracter has 2 fatalities plus the cool idea of death traps , also i think the konquest mode become deeper & better ,also the new very very cool idea of fighting online and chess & puzzle modes ).............
IN the end i think mortal kombat deception will be one of the best fighting games ever...........

Best MK ever! Better than Armageddon by far!

All I can say, is this is the BEST MK game ever- even better than Armageddon. The konquest mode is so addicting- just buy it and you will be addicted to it.
