chacters they are just like the real characters off of disney or other games. My most favorite character seeing was Seiepthroth off of final fantasy 8.The game also has twists and turns in it which I will not tell you. You should go out there and use your money on this awseome game. Because its worth it.
Excellent for the young at heart!

I have been into the RPG games from the original Zelda, and have always been a Nintendo girl. Last week I got PS2 and grabbed Kingdom Hearts with no recommendation except the cover having a Final Fantasy look with Goofy and Donald standing there. This game is better than I could have imagened. As a RPG fan, there is a great storyline, difficult tasks and a great sense of accomplishment as you move through the levels. As a Disney fan, nothing can beat this game. I walk through Wonderland and then the Jungle with Tarzan. It's like walking through the cartoon "movie sets" and it is so much fun to have goofy and donald fighting at your side. This is a MUST HAVE for an disney fan and any RPG fan as well! I love it and I hope there is a Kingdom Hearts 2!
I love this game

This was one of the most beautifully illustrated games I've seen. It ranks right up there with Herdy Gerdy in that regard. The game play is good. I didn't like the repeat cinema loop if you died trying to take out a boss though. Also, I was disappointed that choosing a different weapon and answering the beginning questions differently didn't alter the scenerio. What's the point of asking if nothing changes??? Anyway, I give this game a big score, the bosses aren't too hard for kiddies, but challenging enough to keep you interested. Squaresoft and Disney should work together more often.
Disney and Squaresoft? Unlikely? Yes. Successful? Oh yeah!

When I first heard about Kingdom Hearts, I laughed. A disney RPG called Kingdom Hearts? There was no way I'd be caught dead playing it. Or, at least, that's what I said.
As time wore on I heard good things about it, so I figured it might be worth my time. Then a few of my friends got it and they began to spout off about how amazing it was. I realized then that I really wanted to get the game, so when my Christmas presents were opened, I found it wrapped up in a box.
Since that fateful day, I have been hooked on Kingdom Hearts. It's an in-depth, detailed RPG mixing many past elements of the Final Fantasy series with everyone's favorite Disney characters and even settings. You meet Yuffie, Aeris (Aerith), Cloud, Squall (Leon), and others. Major disney characters make appearances all over the place. Goofy and Donald are main characters, others like Tarzan and Ariel can join your party in their respective worlds, and others are curiosity characters and interesting parts of the plot.
The game is relatively long and has a lot of great extra features and such. The graphics are beautiful and seamless, and the combat style is awesome. Unlike traditional, turn-based rpgs, Kingdom Hearts fights in real-time, where you dodge, strike, cast spells, move, and use items while your enemies are attempting to do the same to you. The ability system allows for some pretty good customization options, and the various miniquests offer powerful items and such for your party.
Overall, this game is incredible. I found few things wrong with it, and I have to say that I recommend it to anyone who either likes Disney movies, RPGs, or both.
Exceptional game

This is a truly outstanding game. I had my doubts about it at first, but I can't be happier that I went ahead and bought it.
Its an Action RPG, which was something I'm not really familiar with being from a Turn-Based (Final Fantasy, etc) background. However it took no time at all to learn how to play. The controls are well explained and I found the learning curve very nice and balanced.
Anyone who likes Disney will also love this, as you travel to different worlds in the game you meet different Disney characters. Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Ariel, Hercules, and Tarzan are but a small selection of the charaters you'll meet. The entire game takes place with Donald and Goofy fighting at your side.
I would definately recommend this game for a wide range of genres and areas of interest. Buy it. Love it!
Great Mix of Squaresoft & Disney Interactive!!!

I was addicted to this game from the moment I put it into the PS2 on Christmas morning! This game has a great mix of both the "Final Fantasy" type characters and the Disney villans and heros! It takes the best of both Squaresoft's gaming technology and Disney animation. I love the fact that I can attack the villans from my childhood. The end sequence is exhausting -- but worth it. And stay-tuned after the credits for the "secret ending"!!! I can't wait for a sequal!!!!!
THE BEST GAME FOR PS2!!

I remember first buying this game. My neighbor had it first, and i was always jealous. Finally, i went out and purchased it. It was so much fun. Every hardcore gamer needs a little break once in a while, and this was it. It's a world so bizarre and colorful that you can't help but enjoy yourself. The confusing plot line makes you remember just how it was in those few years between "kid" and "adult". But even with a lot of mystery, it's still not hard to tell who's the bad guy and who's your friend (Spoiler: Riku is your friendly rival, not an enemy) which makes it a nice change. Buy it, you'll thank yourself.
Imaginative, Good Story, Great Graphics...

I absolutely love this game. If you are a fan of Disney or Final Fantasy, you probably will too as it features a huge cast of characters from both categories. This game includes many gameplay features from the Final Fantasy games, but lets you manually control the character (versus a turn by turn play common in FF). This appealed to me because it demands that you not only master the game through solving puzzles and mazes, but also through good eye-hand control.
Also, the art and environments created in the game are visually stunning. Each "world" is different from the rest, sometimes seeming as if you've hopped into another game altogether. You also learn to play the game differently as you go, mastering different spells or swordfighting techniques or flying or swimming or jumping as each level demands. This game is a lot of fun and very beautiful to watch. I highly recommend it.
Not a new character in sight, but some new ideas

I must admit, I'm only partway through the game, but it has me steadily hooked.
I've heard the complaints that the FF characters are underused or poorly used (so what? did the box really look like an FF game?), that this is a crass, commercialized game (this is partly a Disney product. Disney is a business. Business make money) and that the game system stinks (is the lack of turn-based combat really that big of a turn-off) but I really don't mind any of these things.
The game's characters aren't original, but the idea of letting someone loose in an established Disney world has been brought forth quite nicely. Aside from some maddeningly difficiult leaps and some poor camera angles, the game runs smoothly and presents a different look for each world.
This is a fun game, ideal for wasting away an afternoon.
